Description : For a while I've been wanting to do a track like this one. Just a nice mellow groove jam without the foreboding darkness that is present in most of my work. Well, mostly without it, anyhow. If you liked my last track, "Cyclamens Laid In Stone" then you might like this one. It's a completely different tune, but carries a few similarities. But, it's not nearly as electronic heavy. Also, if you have any suggestions on the mix, let me know. I didn't check this one against all my different systems, so, it may be a little off in a few places. And, for those of you who like, and miss the aggressive, chest kicking ValveDriver sound, don't you worry, there's a storm brewin' in them thar hills. Take care. V. (I don't know in which genre this best fits, so I'm going with "Rock" If you have a better suggestion, tell me.)
Description : If you're looking for Skrillex and his cronies, you've come to the wrong place. It's not that kind of dubstep. This track opens with a nod to my fellow Vault Dwellers and Wanderers of the Wastes, and transitions into a deep, dark celebration of the Horror movie genre. Some of you will get it. Some of you won't. Either way, I hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for listening.------Edit: I fixed the abrupt ending. Now it trails out as it was intended. Take care. V.
Description : (Edit: I cleaned up some of the muddier mids, shortened it by almost a minute, took out a few unnecessary vocals that were just cluttering up the joint. Overall, it's not a whole lot different, just a little cleaner). Now, back to the original description. Generally, I don't use 'pellas in my work. But, I found this one, https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/7151/nanu-nanu-skin-by-hellfeatures-83bpm-electronic-acapella , and heard in my head, the music that needed to accompany it. I don't think the vocalist and the account holder are the same person, though. As long as it's all legal, it shouldn't matter, right? --This one is kind of a throwback to Valvedriver. But, hey...it's what I do. It's another darker one that just creeps along and takes you for a ride. Hopefully one you will enjoy. --Take care. V.
Description : I used Serum and Sylenth1 to create all the synths and basslines. I used random percussion samples for the drums. It's not dubstep, and it's not Drum and Bass, but it's elements are heavily drawn from both to create an experimental industrial track in it's own class. It's heavy, aggressive, and driving. Some will like it, others won't. As always, mixing tips, suggestions and advice is welcome. Take care. V.
Description : I'm not sure how to describe this one. Listen to it, and then maybe you can describe it for me in the comments. Everything, with the exception of the drums, I made from default settings in both Sylenth1 and Massive. Everything from the E-piano sounding synth, to the chimes, to the "vocal" synths, and everything in between. Enjoy. Skol. V.
Description : I had some fun with a wah-pedal effect in this one. It's nothing too remarkable, but a fun little metal piece none the less. Enjoy. V.
Description : Living in the Pacific Northwest, USA, I am surrounded by countless acres of forests and mountains. Having experienced them, I know that with as beautiful and serene as they can be, so too, they can be cold, deadly and unforgiving. That's what this song is about. The wide spectrum of emotions one can feel when alone in the forest. Whether you want to be or not. Let me know what you think. --- Take care. V.
Description : Part one of three.
Description : Part two of three. EDIT - 04/05/2018: I went back and adjusted a few things. I cut some of the hi-mids in the guitars. Boosted the overall low end bass frequencies, and brought the drums forward a little.
Description : This is the third and final installation of the Overmyth trilogy. Each of the three parts represents a period of my life, and the events that have taken place over the last 3 years. The first, "Overmyth I - Inception Of The Truth" is about the facing the journey ahead, and setting out to deal with it. You can hear it here, https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/184039. The second part, "Overmyth II - Cathedral Of The Witch" is about the outer obstacles that were standing in my way that I needed to overcome. It can be heard here, https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/184868. This track. "Overmyth III - Conquering The Bathelyst" is about my inner obstacles. My own insecurities and fears that I needed to conquer in order to finish the 3 year journey, before I could be at peace with myself and the decisions I've had to make along the way. As far as the creation of the song, on a technical standpoint, it was made with EZ Drummer, Shreddage II guitar VST, Scarbee Rickenbocker bass VST, and a little bit of Sylenth1. It's in the Heavy Metal genre, but more specifically, Doom Metal. Inspired by bands like Monolord, Yob, Cough, etc. So, it's a slow, low and heavy aural assult. I started this track in October of 2016, and put in a total working time of 389 hours. That's a total of 16 days if I were to have worked straight through. So, hopefully you like it. I put a lot into it. There are a few things I'm not totally satisfied with, but without using any live instruments, it's going to be impossible to get exactly what I wanted. Thanks for listening. Enjoy. V.
