Description : A psychedelic techno cello epic. It's not really techno as it's only 110 BPM but something like that (eg breakbeat), with lots of banging beats and arpeggiated acid synths, plus a whole load of my layered cello playing techniques. There aren't that many synths used but they do a lot of work and are carefully automated. No guitar. Drums are mostly a lot of drum loops, supported by a few programmed acoustic drumkits. Very busy and complicated with loads of different sections (funky, chilled, fast, heavy) that make up a constantly progressing trip. I don't know if there's any other cello music like this so let me know if you think there is. Interesting feedback appreciated - criticism, praise, ideas etc. Enjoy...

I had this idea of doing a Hip/Blues track with my mate Pico on vocals. But as he is not available for vocals at the moment, I recycled vocals of other songs we done previously. And added a couple of loops, see the credits at the end. Just a bit of fun :D

Description : I have had this one sitting in a folder for over a year. Decided to clean it up and hopefully get some feedback. This is the only track I have done so far with real acoustic guitars. I recorded it through a microphone as it is not a Acoustic Electric. Also has Live bass and some synth added. Drums are Addictive.

Description : I created this track with the original intention of me singing on it, I played guitar and played the midi parts, I changed the drums to what they are and felt that rap vocals would be awesome on it. I found Kamoflage's Dash acapella, I restretched the vocals to 130bpm and they fit perfect. I did have to cut some of the original lyrics out to keep the track clean so that I can use it for an example in a class I am teaching. Check out some of Kamoflage's work on his page, he is really good.

A proper rock'n roll track with just bass, vocals and guitar - I did it as some sort of tribute to Free and the great Paul Kossoff (who I hope forgives me for this poor imitation where ever he rocks hard now). -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The main vocals were recorded just to see how everything fits in, but in the end we decided to use it as it is. Description : First attempt at Trance I feel is good enough to publish, its much harder than it sounds. I'm actually still surprised at my ability to sausage-ify my tracks without actually increasing the levels like I intend. Rip. -- Used the usual suspects of the ES2 Hybrid Synth for a majority of the sounds, with the ESX24 Sampler being used for the reverb-y Marimba effect and the 'choir' section. FM8 is also used for the Pads, and Ultrabeat for the drums. Listening back, I think the high end is a bit too loud and/or a bit too noisy, so that will be edited some time later, but other than that I don't think it was too bad for my first attempt (actually fourth, but the other 3 were not published). -- Download will be available after the contest ends (judging begins today, Tuesday 28 June).
