Tracks (24)

Description : From rap and disco and piano back to the blues... well, blues-y, anyway. Hope you enjoy!

This is #18 on the list of songs I'm collecting... hoping to put the best 8-10 on my next spotify/itunes album. Let's see what 2024 brings us!

Description : This is my first ever rap, and one of the first tracks more or less built around samples. I hope it's fun and it doesn't offend your ears too much - next track is going to be just piano again, I think ;)

The most fun is that Ghixxie and Ruben (my long time remote production assistant) might add verses here... so stay tuned ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Description : This is a poem by my daughter - she used it for an art project, but when I heard/saw it, I felt I really wanted to sing it.

So here it is - my Christmas Project, sort of.
Happy holidays everyone, whatever your background, culture, religion or lack thereof - make it a great time, and if your time isn't so great right now, then I hope your music helps you.

Description : Again based on a challenge - "ORGANIC PANIC, MAKE AN ORGANIC TRACK; feel free to interpret it any way you like, from the dictionary definition, organic genres, lyrics, style, sounds...."

So I wrote a lyric based on the title, added loads of organs... and then for good measure another great spoken vocal of Kamal Imani.

Hope you like it :)

Description : W000000000000000000000000000000t!!!
With a mastering masterclass by the awesome Manuela and Angelica!! Give it another listen and be astounded - my track suddenly has bass!

==========================================

Inspired by a challenge: "make a track that has a sick, groovy, funky, massive, dirty, retro, pumping or hypnotic bass line. Keep it between 100 and 150bpm."
Oh! And this is also partially inspired by a track by xstokes that's itself quite different :)

Description : This is a track inspired by a challenge in reddit, in the "produceweekly" subreddit (the challenge was to create a piano track of less than 125 bpm).
It so happened I still had a snippet that wanted to become a track... and today this is what happened.

Description : Another track on the upcoming EP... several of you have already added my account on your Spotify or iTunes or Deezer or Sneezer or whatever they're called and thank you so much, keep doing that please!

Oh! And if you are on Spotify... spam your track to mne here and I add you to my playlist!

Description : This is a track I wrote a couple months ago, inspired by a poem on an open mic night. The lyrics are mine, but based on their story... and maybe a bit of my own history ;)

I'm not fully happy with it, but after working on it again for a full day I decided it's time to let it go. Well, unless you have a bright idea where to take it?

Description : This track will self-destruct in pure spookiness in 5.... 4.... 3.... 2....

Description : This track is now remastered and will be out on streaming platforms soon. If you could go to the spotifies and itunes and see if you can find my account and follow it... that would be MASSIVELY appreciated (heart emoticon)

Thanks everyone with their help as always!

Description : Various fixes applied. Thank you all :)
=========================
This is a track under construction, I'd been working on it but couldn't make it work... but I think this is a good sound now.
Tell me what you think it needs!

Description : I was working on another track that I couldn't get to work and after a couple hours I gave up disgusted and frustrated and just started playing keyboard a bit, for fun.

And then I wrote this.

Because sometimes that's how our creative brains work. Go figure.

Description : Dec 11: various parts updated.

In my quest to do something different I was looking for a spoken word acapella to base a track on, and I fell in love with "Her name was Amnesia" of Kamal Imani.

It so happened that I'd just had a discussion with someone on a similar subject. I chopped up his vocal, added some music and sang more or less the words I had used. The female vocal is a sample from my Ableton libraries.

I hope it all goes together well and Kamal will be happy of what I did.

Description : Track professionally remastered... thanks for all your help!
This will be out as part of an EP on streaming media soon... would you help me out and follow me there? Lots of love!

Description : A quick track to see if my new home setup works... I think I like it :)

People "accuse" me of making 70s music... I think this one proves it. It reminds even me of Little Feat, if you know them (and if you don't, look them up, they're awesome).

Some minor fixes... will come out on youtube on Monday. Give it a look if you can :)

Description : Mark (mtking) made a remix of this one, I added some new vocals and then made his mix worse again... hope you'll like this version!
Kudos to Mark for a great job and for sticking with me and believing in me. You da man!

Description : This is not my story, but someone very dear to me... the lyrics are pretty close to what they said. What they said and the pain they felt touched me and I hope you can hear that in the song.

Also, this is a new song; but I would love if you could do a quick search on "BaoBou's Music" on iTunes or Spotify or whatever you use and give my album "Step by Step" a quick listen :)

Description : This track from June was a mess, but it was also fun; I've tried to clean up the mess (August) and keep the fun in it. It's still a work in progress, but tell me if it's a bit tighter. And if you can feel the joy :)

Description : Recorded, written & played in my living room.

Description : Now on youtube: youtu.be/0RYfA4iCsSA, soon out on my upcoming album "Step by Step"!

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.

Description : Monday afternoon I had the devastating news that a far away friend is diagnosed with cancer (treatable, but still).
These are the moments we want to be with our friends, hug them, talk, cry, maybe laugh. But sometimes we are far from our friends and family, and that's not so easy.

But we are creators, and we can always let them know how we feel with a song. This one is for you, Cindi.

Here's a rare video of me performing it :)

Description : Now out as part of an EP on Spotify, iTunes and all the other ones. Thanks for all your encouragement, it means the world to me!
==========================
This particular poem consists of two 1000 year old Japanese "renga", short "word flowers" about the autumn rains. They inspired me... and I hope you will like them too.

Description : Everything is recorded live, so you probably hear that. It's also all me :$

Thanks to everyone who contributed in explaining what I did wrong in the engineering, mixing and mastering, especially Ben (bringerofDOOM). Looperman is truly an awesome community and thank you all. Did I say you guys are awesome?

Now also with a clip on youtu.be/ydQiJAV3DX0 !
