Description : a bit of bicycle romance. maybe it should sound not quite human. maybe "genders" are not so clear. but there should be some courtship, some pursuit, some buildup. I tried for a bit of an odd-meter groove, some detuning of instruments. each bike has a song and they duet at the end as their mechanical passion builds.

Incredibly original idea mate...artistic approach takes the spotlight here! I always like unconventional tracks which
provide a decent dose of creativity and inventivenes like
this one surely does! Faved!:)
thanks, Orlando. there was one more edit since your listen. revised the percussion solo section to use same instruments as beginning. i had a little more patience on this track to see it to a natural finish. of course there is always more we can do. i'm glad you liked it. very best regards my friend. -Dan
Due to my pre-existing mindset, I did not look at the art until just now. I can actually see what you did musically in the art work, and for that you deserve congratulations! One of the only reasons I work on making my instruments look good is that I have trouble with memory especially when it crosses the line between visual and auditory... I think it is due to early life brain injuries. Action is my strongest sense, if you can call it that, so if I can associate action with sight and sound, then it works out usually. I think you've done that well in this case after viewing the art work. I really like the instantaneous nature of this piece, and I think you are progressing in your works substantially. Thank you for your reply and for sharing your works with us!
you always challenge me - whether intentionally or not - to push higher. I spent more time on this one to work it out some more. I appreciate that you sensed some connection with the art. in the end, it is probably pretty subjective although I think there are approaches that work better than others. all the best Pat. Dan
Very interesting expression here! I think I have some amount of difficulty relating to the visual art influenced music because of my own artistic endeavors. When I need to create it is generally either musical or visual, and the only time that they cross paths is when I build instruments.... however, they do not make music unless I use them as an instrument. Then again, there are my old "audio sculptures" which used the pattern blocks in FL to create an image, and a song resulted. Either way, the visual part is a side effect when combined with my music generally. I like the simplicity of the synth lines, and I feel that the whole track could be enhanced over time. Cool to hear some of your new stuff!
usually the art serves as a spring board. on longer, worked out tracks I am also just making music as best I can. this is a good example. the first half does speak to the art for me. as the track progresses, I am really just working out musical ideas and process. And as you say, this one has room to grow. thanks spiv
Ivan Opium is in real life Burkart Schmidl and he makes real strange soundproductions and stuff ..... exelent stuff for listening (in a way) and he was one of the inventors of World Music ..... one of the last things he did can be seen on this video on his homepage.
I bet that you will enjoy the interface he use there to create his music
Nice one Dan, look forward to see how this one ends up! Ed mentioned Zappa, have you ever seen the video of Zappa playing the bicycle? It's great.
Experimental and interpretive music was fairly popular 40 years ago. Maybe I'm not tuned into the right channels but it doesn't seem as mainstream as it was back then. I am starting to see where you are going with your art project more clearly.
There is a sense of fun intensity to the track. I can imagine you are picturing 2 bikes cruising down the street, bumping into each other, a horn here, a toot there, driving recklessly in lovers bliss. The brass sounding instrument sounded like bike horns.
If I could suggest working the drums/percussion a bit. They are cool and can be part of the track but I also want to hear a little of the bikes swooshing or whizzing down the street, weaving back and forth and all about. Kind of hard to explain exactly but maybe that will help you in some way.
great comments and ideas. i wish I had the time/patience/technique. No doubt the drums can be developed in this one. Actually this turned more serious than I had intended at the end. Getting it back to playful would be a good thing.
Cool one Dan. Very nice mix of intresting things.
This one reminds me on some old stuf i listen to in the 80´s.
Lots of peoples tryed to do something "special" and or new that time. Nice to see that right now also peoples around who do the same research.
After listen to this one i tryed to find some old stuff from that time to listen to and it was realy realy hard to find BUT at the end i had sucsses on spotify
This is maybe far away from this track but i believe that you will found some of the tracks realy "intresting"
I managed to listen to the one Ivan Opium song. you are right - he is using an interesting scale and some unique sounds. I am having trouble with Spotify and found the Opium song elsewhere. regards - Dan
Its experimenters like you that take musical ideas to new places Dan..Zappa did music that wasn`t always preferred listening for many of us...but it sure was interesting and a source of creative ideas....not sure about how those bicycles are going to get along (but since more than a few humans find that difficult too they just as well give it a shot HaHa)...Always a pleasure to stop by your place and hear what you have been up to....well done....keep on...Ed
Hey, Ed. I was always falling asleep in harmony class or otherwise distracted so I have had no choice but to come up with my own musical language. It's fun trying to create connections between the visual and the sonic. It is my muse. Glad you had a chance to hear. hopefully this one has some more to come. Best regards - Dan
Well - I did post the music now with the painting. But a video would be perfect to create more sensation of interaction between the bikes. Are you gonna do it??!!
Still trying to visualize two bicycles having a sweet romance. Cant seem to figure it out :p.
The track is pretty weird but the sounds are all very nice and clear and make a really funny ensemble. I think it could be worked out more. I definetly would take another listen then and see what came out of it!
Hey, Mudhoen - yea - I am still figuring it out also. And it does need more working out I agree. I would like to convey more sense of interaction between two musical "personalities". Anyway - that would be one approach. the other would just be to let it evolve now as a track without too much concern for the original inspiration. I did post the music now with the painting if you are curious. Best regards - Dan
Bizarre track, but I believe it works, sounds like something off a jazz fusion album, respect to you for putting it out there mate, who needs traditional harmony these days ha.:)
Honestly, mrroads, I need more traditional harmony! LOL! No - I'm having fun exploring the whole connection thing between musical pitch and the ultraviolet light spectrum. It's an angle anyway. Here is where I start the recipes, if you are curious. http://www.flutopedia.com/sound_color.htm
That is good idea, cru. I think there is something to be said about developing fewer elements in different ways than adding more and more elements. KISS - you know what that stands for?! regards -

Description : Many of strangeness here ....
A link between two musical worlds quite different but united in this message of harmony.
"Silverpaw" (former Looperman) had in the depths of one of its hard drives, this arrangement that I made the past year: https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/120846
He decided to bring this theme, with a text and this voice ....
Very surreal but I really enjoyed ....
Description : I am quite open to all kind of music out there. This time I had some Church organ pipes lying around. With the help of 2nick8 and IMHO one of his best songs out there I put him into a big room and let the organs speak. Yes, maybe weird, maybe different, maybe 2nick8 will throw some egg against me ... I did it. What do you all think of it? (I changed the Genre to "Weird" in the meantime but "Experimental" would do also.
Description : I started out making this track a Vocal track, then it turned into a Chillout track but, now I'd say DubJazz, PsychoFunk or Weird. You be the Judge.
Description : Hey guys! Well, this is the first time I upload a song with my voice. I have to confess that this is not a style I usually sing. And, as an extra point, this is my first song in english. My native language is spanish, my english is not perfect, so sorry for mistakes (grammar, pronunciation, etc). Well, about lyrics, I explain the story on description of the instrumental version. If you want to read the story or hear the instrumental track, go here [ https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/146653 ]. This song was made on Magix Music Maker 2013 Premium and Adobe Audition 3.0. I hope you like it. Thanks! SUN & MOON... FIRE & ICE HEART... LIGHT & DARK FUSION...
Description : This track is only magmatic chaos hanging on a simple rhythmic skeleton. I had fun shaping and mixing the most disgusting electronic slurry.
Description : I haven't done anything in awhile. I got tired of screwing with this so just did some gain staging & panning & slapped it on here. It definitely sounds like something I would do.
Description : I wanted to do something different, TheFrenz sent me the stems to his excellent track 'Transformer' - And only one of the several versions of the track, using many of the same elements each time.
So I threw my hat in the ring with a version of my own, taking the elements of Transformer and doing some transforming. It only makes the song title that much more awesome. Music can certainly be transformed, taken to its next form...and the music can also be what transforms US. Pretty deep, man.
