Description : A song I wrote over a guitar track that I found on YouTube. Link to the original track can be found below.

Have been attempting to write 2-3 songs over the past couple of months with little success, when this one just appeared out of nowhere.

It's a bit odd I guess (which is why I tagged it as weird) but I enjoyed creating and listening back to it, so here it is.

Thank you!

Everything in this song just simply works together. Nothing clashes and the vocals are amazing. It's a bit tough to make out the lyrics so maybe that could be a small complaint, but that's pretty much it. Awesome song

    Thank you very much.

And you're not the only one to mention the clarity of the lyrics, but I'm working on it!

Appreciate you stopping by and taking the time out to comment :]

Thank you very much. It helps that there are such good instrumentals out there for me to play with, otherwise I'd still be singing Christmas carols to myself :)

You did a really good job with this song. It sounded a lot like something that Pink Floyd would put out. The overall overtone of this song as really dark, which I really like. I look forward to hearing more stuff like this from you.

    Thank you.

I would love to make a song that is at once dark and beautiful/ethereal, so I guess I'm halfway there :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, means a lot.

    Hai there,

Wow, omg, damn. You have an amazing voice! WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD FROM YOU BEFORE. This is such a beautiful snippet I don't want to call it a "song", but something like a trip, a feeling, a breeze. Idk I'm getting weird.

Try to work on sounds like this dude, they are so unique yet easy on the ears. Add some drums, build a full song, add a wonderful message. THE POTENTIAL IS DRIPPING FROM MY SPEAKERS. I don't know if that's normal but DO SOMETHING WITH IT.

Great sound, amazing voice, good stuff. Keep it up :)

Hi there, thank you for such glowing feedback!

I'd have to agree that it's not really a song as such, and that's kind of what I was aiming for, as I'm a big fan of film music and was going for something along those lines.

I hope to make more traditional songs in the future, so I'll be following your advice.

Thanks for stopping by and listening, much appreciated.

Love the track, I'm currently studying film in college and think this song has a place in it. Whether or not your track is used I still really like it.

It would be really cool to hear my music in something along those lines, but it's not quite at that standard yet.

Thanks for stopping by and listening, always appreciated.

I think this is my favorite track of yours. The mood of the instrumental really suits your voice. Sounds kind of like a chilled out Ozzy.

Reminds me of a David Gilmour pink Floyd number I really like your vocals. I am learning the process of dealing with vocals in my daw and would be very interested to learn from you on how you process that. Fantastic work you have done here best regards Robbie.

    Hi praise indeed, thank you!

My set-up consists of a Rode nt1-a mic > DBX 286s vocal processor > Focusrite solo > Ableton. And the main softwares I tend to use for vocals are Izotope Nectar and Waves sonic enhancer, along with some extra compression and transient shaping.

After that, it's just a case of experimenting I guess.

Hope that helps, and thanks for listening :)

Hey, I think you did a good job with this. Like the effect you put on your vocals. It brings it back to the singer songwriter days when music took you on a journey. It has that Peter Gabriel vibe. Nice work.

Thank you. More than one person has mentioned Peter Gabriel in passing now, so that's a genuine compliment, although I must rely heavily on effects to get anything sounding close.

    Thanks for the comments :)

Description : inspired by art of Susana Boettner which reminds me of the three kings story of this time of year. three motives in the track vaguely allude to three characters, sometimes in monologue, sometimes dialogue. http://www.susanaboettner.com/losvisitantes/05.jpg

Genre is always tricky and I don't know genres very well so I usually go with weird. But I think I write in an orchestral style, albeit I have mostly abandoned traditional orchestral instruments.

The track is loosely cinematic, insofar as it describes a journey, with mystery, adventure, celebration along the way.
