Description : Brutally honest and terribly contradictory, straight to the point by way of strange curving route between the river and the shopping mall. $5 minimum is a high price to pay for ignorance. I'll tolerate you when you've given in to my scare tactics. Couldn't have done the vocals the way they turned out without a certain ridiculous brainwashed fool, you know who you are. Go ahead, convince yourself that you're doing the right thing. This started out as a simple tech-house sort of instrumental, and then it blew up into what it is now. I used two looperman loops in composition for this track, firstly looperman-l-0630386-0060622-joefunktastic-funk-for-the-soul-drums1-95bpms, and secondly looperman-l-0711726-0058529-proecliptix-raw-loop-1. Thank you immensely to MrFunktastic and Proecliptix for the sweet energy. Beyond that, I want to thank RenzWilde for continuing my evolution as a guitarist... couldn't have done it without you. Guitar is played on my Jackson, which I finally got the floating tremolo set up properly on recently... ahhh intonation. Has a bit of atmospheric synth created on my microkorg, and a nice kick from the Zoom RT-123. Spot vocals and synthie vocals were recorded on my 100 proof mic. Here's what I've got, got anything of value to barter with?

Description : Here is a new Spivkurl track for all of you to check out! My thought process interprets this as industrial gothic, but it's open to external interpretation. This song's sounds were almost entirely sampled from equipment which I hand soldered, whether it be synthesizer builds or circuit bending. The lead vocals were recorded with the new microphone which I built in the past few days, and I'm happy with the way it interacts with my voice. In fact the only piece of gear used that I didn't build was the microphone for the hook vocals... and they are meant to be unintelligible, as they were recorded spontaneously with a patch I called a Spivocoder (on my modular synth). Uptempo and aggressive, it's definitely my sort of industrial. Please give me your opinions if you have the time! Thanks!

Description : Built a little portable synth recently, which I called "Breaking Blue" after the song I was making while building the synth... This is a song made from sounds of this synth only. Minimal stuff... I was thinking of Hardcore 8-bit/square wave type of things. To see what I've been building, visit the Spivkurl Blog!

Description : Here is my initial contribution to the Loop Challenge started by FreeRadical. Here's the thread; https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/182711/loop-challenge Thanks to him and all that are getting involved! The full quality wave version is available here https://soundcloud.com/spivkurl/breaking-blue-16-master-c

I used all three loops given to me by M8TN -

https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/6081

https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/4356

https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/57619

All three were made by the excellent MrRobot! I ended up using this track as an opportunity to try out the Parallel Killer Guitar that I finished putting together not long ago. These are amongst the first recordings of the guitar. So I guess this turned out like what I would call "hard dub" or maybe it's just dub-glitch... totally not dubstep...heh. I was going for a tape recorded feel on this one for the most part. Hope you enjoy it!

Description : It's been a while since I posted anything original, and the reason is I've been spending tons of time between this song and my guitar build. Both were started and finished virtually simultaneously. This song is hard to describe... those who know Spivkurl will recognize my style in this, but I have tried to take things bit further composition wise in this one. It's a bit pop for me, but oh well. All basses originated on my modular synth. Vocals are all me. Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

WAV version available here (just realized I didn't allow downloads, but it's fixed now!): https://soundcloud.com/spivkurl/spivkurl-claws-in-me-mix-59-b-master-3

Description : Here is the outcome of Mark Ratcliffe jumping on board the Short Bus Proximal Vicinity craze with his amazingly emotional and powerful vocal and guitar performances. His account can be found here...

https://www.looperman.com/users/profile/631933

He used my mix 13B master B to record his parts, so it only seemed natural that he would send those parts over and let me mix them in, as opposed to just mixing over an mp3. His guitar and vocal parts were extremely well recorded and high quality, so it helped things fall into place comfortably. I tried to keep most of the power of my earlier mix, while giving space to the lead guitar and vocals. Also I fixed just a couple small problems that I didn't hear before. Mark has really helped take this song to another level, and I thank him for making trips to town to facilitate this project!

So I give you ShortBusMusic - Proximal Vicinity Ft Mark Ratcliffe - Spivkurl Mix 13IA

Description : Here is my contribution to the mixing and mastering competition hosted by ShortBusMusic. Spent quite a bit of time on this one, and it was mainly a morning activity for me - the song seemed to suit that feeling. Quite a bit of detail work went into the mix. Tried to keep much of the dynamics intact. Hope I have kept to the guidelines in an acceptable way. Here's the link to the competition thread... https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/182336/mixing-and-mastering-competition
And a link to the original track... https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/159547
Thanks ShortBus for putting this together!

Description : A short minimal tech track that I made earlier this year. It's about understanding a wild animal's loneliness, fear, and pain. I would understand if they hated me, and for sure "Us." I hope it effects you. I released this on Soundcloud previously, but thought the Looperfam might get into it. Description : Hello all, finally got around to polishing this track, which came from a collab with FarM (known on here as honkytonk). He provided me with some drum and bass work, and I came back with a demo that was essentially what you are hearing now. I just fixed the tuning and some pops at transitions. The tuning basically thwarted our collab I think, because without really remembering I played the guitar parts tuned to 432 Hz *** http://csglobe.com/music-conspiracy-to-detune-us-from-natural-432-hz-harmonics/ ***
and left all the other instruments at 440 Hz as a result...heh. Sounded much better after fixing that. Anyway it's got some dubstep and industrial most obviously. Yet another song I unconsciously ripped off from Skinny Puppy. Thanks for taking a listen! You can get the new Spivkurl album "Charting The Anomaly," which includes this track at the We Are... Description : Learn something new everyday, take it as the only way. "What makes you an exception?" Know your enemy enough to protect your friends. This song consists only of samples and vocal loops. I'm calling it acid house, correct me if I'm wrong. I like how the acid bass turned out, considering it is made from just a one shot sample. Thank you for listening! Description : Okay, got a take I liked of the lyrics I wrote for that "Liberate" song in the Looptrack Challenge. Here's a link to the original if you haven't heard it.
https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/156860
Not much changed, save for the vocals are present, and so was my drive to express myself. Please excuse the word "preach," I am not religious and yet I still have beliefs. Read into the lyrics however you want, I'm just waking up to the reality. If anyone has suggestions, please don't hold back. There's no shame in listening to good advice. Thank you very much for listening.

Description : Been on the front lines of an age old battle, and feeling the depth of pain and trauma associated with it. Started this track quite a while ago, but decided to use it to free my tension. I'm calling this trip hop because of the tempo and everything, but that's not an option here, so I'll go with electronic. All made from loops, no synths or instruments, VSTi or otherwise. The Looperman loops I've used are listed below;

Description : Back with an update of this song- 8 June 2014. Took to heart a lot of the helpful comments I got on the earlier version, and I think the ideas helped a lot. This contains some incidental guitar work, which I'd like to dedicate to a friend who is no longer with us. (They won't get away with this!) Added some things and removed others, toned down the automation and effects slightly. It's a little longer now too. Hope you all enjoy listening! Oh yeah, BTW all the vocals are mine including the melodic parts, since some people asked.-----

New moon new song, that didn't take too long. Did this over the last few days. I went into this with some urges to fuse electro house with classic rock, so I'll call it fusion. Played some improv on my Baldwin Fanfare organ. Take what you want from it, and compost the rest. You can get the new Spivkurl album "Charting The Anomaly," which includes this track at the We Are... Description : Was in a weird mood this weekend, so I went for some loopy electro this time. Tried to carry my aesthetics and recent style into this genre which is not my usual. It was a little tough to mix this one, but I think it turned out good. Have fun listening!

Full remix kit has been discontinued as of 28 May,2014. Thank you to everyone who has done, or will do a remix! It's been fun, but it's getting hard to take. All vocal stems are available on my Looperman profile now.

Description : The results of one of my most intense recording sessions to date. I don't think I've explored a single key this deeply ever before. (G minor for those of you wondering) I pulled out my old Epiphone Les Paul, which I've rebuilt and customized over the years. Typed the original lyrics for the song on a couple text message drafts in my phone, then expanded upon them. Has some dubstep elements which are obvious, but it's at a higher tempo. So I guess there's some gothic and industrial in there too. Thanks for taking a listen! You can get the new Spivkurl album "Charting The Anomaly," which includes this track at the We Are... Description : Felt like taking a break from vocals for a weekend, so here's my new instrumental effort. Can't say I've ever made a song quite like this, but it still sounds like Spivkurl. The variety is mostly represented in the subtleties. It was interesting for me to find the big differences in feelings of C# major when compared to the basic C major key. I can't quite figure out what genre this is, so I'm using fusion, as it has elements of electronic, chill out, ambient, and glitch to name a few. Thanks for checking it out! Description : It's very self indulgent. Listen carefully. You just might miss something. Lives may depend upon it.

Description : My collaboration with the masterful member Benham Zandi DeciBel. https://www.looperman.com/users/tracks/741971 I was in a dark place when I did these vocals, but I still don't know why I didn't release this sooner. In a very industrial mood lately, but still getting an outlet in other genres by making loops. Please give me an honest opinion of this song, You'll be glad to hear my soul is no longer "hidden locked tight". Description : Well, with the full moon going strong, and trying to find a song to write about the discrepancies of daylight savings time, I decided to do this cover instead. Some of the words seemed relevant. Ohgr is also the lead singer of skinny puppy, in case you didn't know that.

Here's a link so you can hear the original;

This was done in about 4 hours. I hope you enjoy listening!

Description : Recently did a collab with Looperman user doctorcatface, and this is what came of it. He sent me his project file with individual loop sections. I laid out the arrangement and wrote some lyrics. Did the mixing and mastering too. I don't know about you, but I enjoy listening to this one. Here's the original track that inspired the collab:

Description : This goes out to all the haters, trolls, and leeches. It was all written and produced today. I'm calling it dubstep for many reasons, but it has elements of industrial and psy to it. It's at 143 BPM which is a little on the fast side, and it's written in B locrian mode. Don't you judge me.

Description : Well, yesterday I did another cover tune, this time an REM song from the album "Monster." I've wanted to cover this song for quite some time, and it all fell into place in just a couple hours. I took one of the basses from my modular synth, and the intro atmosphere was played on my optical theremin. In the chorus there is an arpeggiated organ sound which is sampled from my Gibson G-101 organ. The drums are all samples, and the rest of the synths are VST. Very interested to hear the reaction to this, as it's quite different from the original. Thanks for listening.

Description : For those of you who haven't grabbed my new album "Labrynth Of Self" I'm putting up another one from it. This is the only thing on the album that I'd really call industrial, and it comes closest to my goal of creating something that Ohgr might do on one of his albums. It contains some very weird sounds that I don't specifically remember creating. Don't be shy with your critique, it's not the sort of music everyone likes. Thanks for listening friends!

Description : Well, recently made a new track! I sang vocals on this one. It's kind of like techno or new wave or synth pop. The instrumentation is primarily hardware. The drums are from the Zoom RT-123, the basses are Zoom and Microkorg. The pads are from my Korg DW-6000. The keys are Casio HZ-600. The transition sounds are from the Eat Lead Copper modular synth. Just two virtual synths used on this one. I like how the last bridge vocals turned out. I think it turned out pretty good, but I'd like to hear your views! Thanks for listening! This track is included on the Spivkurl album "Labrynth Of Self".

Description : My latest effort! Kind of techno, with some synth-pop, and industrial. Got some more vocals this time. Hope you enjoy! Edit - Made a new mix today, because I realized I had some messed up EQ's and I backed off a little on the distortion. Enjoy! This track is included on the Spivkurl album "Labrynth Of Self".
