This is what "hipsters" call post dubstep. Thats some real LOW bass man. Very bizarre in a good way.

    Hi Spiv

Lots of interesting sounds and rhythms on this one. The dub step sound you have created is the most original one I have ever heard.

    Well done buddy!

Ok so I was reading through my comments and realized that the last comment I left you was a bit off and I didn't even leave you a proper review on the track itself.

I apologize for that. I suffer from what you call "sleep deprivation" or should I say insomnia. So I might be listening and writing something, and my mind is somewhere else.

So now that that's out the way.

This is a cool track. Arrangement and levels are on point. That pop-pling type sound and bassline worked well together. Every time I would hear that part It would make me feel like I was trying to run or escape from something or somewhere. If that makes sense.

I also liked the way you faded the sounds in and out. I don't know what else to say. Sorry again for the last review. Peace man.

I saw the title, and I just had to take a listen. You're right, cigarettes are dam expensive! Especially here in NYC. I'm not an expert in Drumstep but I don't judge a piece of composition by it's genre.

I go by feel and emotion because music is about that. If it comes from the heart you can relate to it. Btw, thank you again for stopping by my page. I really appreciate it. Peace.

I'm a big fan of stuff played in minor keys so i just had to bag myself a copy of this. Cigarettes are bloody expensive, So is everything else. This tune gets me thinking about the demise of capitalism as it all implodes in on it's self and although it's a dark track i find that image strangely satisfying.
This is a great tune mate. Enjoyed from start to finish.

Usually when I hear drum and bass it is at 100 mph so this is quite unexpected. I like the tempo, it opens it up for some cool experimentation with the bass. I like the vocal pads you used, subtle but still effective.

    Great job, keep them coming!

Yeah I like drumstep because it works at the tempo of drum and bass, but uses a half time feel. Gives the song some breathing room! Glad you could get into my first try at a genre. Thanks for the comments friend!

Nice track! I really like that groove you have goin on with the bass, really goes well with the drums and hh's. Like the choir pads, and the little vocoded parts are a nice addition too!

To the song title: Depends on which brand you get. I'm currently circling 'round the sub-generic stuff (like a poor & desperate Vulture's tumor). Though, $40 after tax is still kinda steep (shrugs).

Moving on, I really love the globby/slidy bassline on here. And the inaudible computerized voc-sam. Though I dunno if I'd class this as D&B (in a classic sense, atleast, eh, who cares, let the purists figure it out). Its def creative, and I dig the randomness & minimalism you got goin on. Cool stuff man. Lates!

I'm glad you could get this song! Thanks for listening and stuff! I know it's not DnB but that's what I've seen people classifying drumstep as, so I just went with it. Not technically dubstep either. Thanks for your thoughts!

first off, love your tracks, they are always so inventive. like you always seem to take weird things that normally wouldnt belong or some kind of sound that really isnt musical and turn it into something unique.

in this case i would definitely use the word inventive. i mean its a very simple track that for the most part loops around but its not like beating a dead horse, ya know what im saying? like it doesnt get boring. it has a dark sense to it but with a piece of something brighter. which kinda makes me think the track name really goes with it.
    .
cigarettes are expensive and unhealthy (dark) but coming from a smoker i can say that there's a sense of love for the habbit(brighter side) its a weird analysis i know right? XD
but in my own way it makes sense
    .
anways, i like the bass, its deep, has some sub bass to it but its also got a dirty overtone that creates a really cool effect. the different sound effects really add character to it in away i could only expect from you.
    .
im glad your back on looperman and i hope your here to stay because hearing your tracks is something inspirational and thats the truth!
    .
much love bro and i hope to hear more

some really good ideas brother... the pads need some work to really sparkle at the top end... maybe adding some chorus and/or panning nothing too aggressive some nice a subtle.. the bottom end also need some work... maybe cutting that kick below 70 hz and adding something in there as a sub element you know?

the atmosphere is perfect for sure.. for me I would add some extra delay on some those elements maybe even again Panning... just to add on that sonic scape you've created

the drum track is a bit repetitive but that can be fixed in a heart beat ... so I would go on about that

don't get me wrong I really enjoyed it ...it is also minimal.. loving the synth sounds in there like feedback through a broken speaker....

    nice track brother...keep 'em coming

Description : Before I start, I'd just like to thank all of the wonderful community members who help me beat my creative block with their advice on my other track. Not only was I able to beat it, but I was also able to gain a little more creative ideas. This will be the first track with a background story. This track takes place in Las Vegas Nevada. A man name John, is an ex drug addict and finds himself playing the slots. When he comes across this blue synthetic drug, just sitting in between two of the slot machines. Not being able to resist, he opens the bag and takes a huge hit. John's body instantly reacts to the drug, causing him to go into full on high mode. John starts kicking the machine he is at, throwing chairs at the machine causing sparks to erupt, evidently finding himself practically burning the casino down. John continues his "high" on the Las Vegas strip. Doing everything from knocking old women down to flashing at the police. Eventually causing John to get surrounded by cops, almost exactly when he starts coming out of his high. As the cops has John surrounded with his hands in the sky, John realizes he has some more drugs left, hanging out of his sleeve, he quickly sniffs the entire packet, causing time to slow down for John. John kicks the garbage on the right of him, hitting on of the three cops right the face. The other two cops then shoots at John, John has an instant reflex action and dodges both of the cops bullets. Before, taking them both down and finally doing some awesome parkour, on his way to his hotel room, to dodge other police. John eventually makes it home, sits on his couch smokes a joint and calls it a night.
