Description : This is a fun electronic track that is dedicated to my wife! I used a couple pieces of MIDI gear as well as some samples and VSTi's to create this. Has a fun "pan flute" solo. Would love to hear what you think! From the Spivkurl album "Strong Like Squirrel."

Thanks so much for listening to so many of my tracks! It's good to hear from you! Sorry for the late reply!

6Hat 31st Jul 2011 03:15 - 15 years ago

i dig, and yea, the flute solo's pretty cool. I guess my one critique is that you use the same swell too many times; that reverse crash-cymbal thing. Eh, maybe you only used it... nope, it's your outro too. Yea, I don't know, I'm a big fan of buildups and I never like to use the same sound to build up a beat more than once in a track. Cool beat though, I don't really dig elecontronic-sounding business, but this was easy on the ears. Good work

Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Yeah I'm always guilty of overusing my swells and builds, I guess you could say it's part of my signature sound! I'm glad you liked the flute solo and the beat though! Thanks for the review!

ScreamingZombie 29th Jul 2011 10:14 - 15 years ago

Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey dad, glad you found this one! Just so you know it's not a real pan flute, but a synthetic version. It sounds pretty good anyway! Thanks for the review!

WithoutMyArmor 27th May 2011 21:05 - 15 years ago

Really liking the sounds I'm hearing in this one. Some really sweet synth layering. Haha And the pan flute solo was pretty bangin!

Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Thanks much for the positive review! I'm glad you liked the synth, and that solo! I appreciate your words!

WaPer 25th May 2011 19:17 - 15 years ago

This track is out of this world... so different than i heard so far... great arrangement and selection of synths are amazing, and the pan flute coming so freshly, and the melody puts a big smile on my face. Excellent work my friend! Keep them coming. Faved!

CHEERS!

Salook 16th May 2011 21:26 - 15 years ago

This is a strong piece to my ears, raw and energetic, subtle glitch in the hats really works for me as does the euphoric strings, panflute is a really nice touch and changes up the track nicely, crisp quality production, awesome stuff man, fav and download. thanks

Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Thanks so much for your kind comments! This was a fun piece to work on, so it's nice to get a good response! I appreciate the review and the fave!

Play 2 now...

Don't ask me why, but the name of this song remind me of those Memes that start off with,
"In Soviet Russia..."
And I must ask, with such a name, and with the mechanical vibe of this tune, have you been watching marathons of Dexter's Laboratory again? Haha, I kid, but both sort of lend themselves to that animation style (with a touch of Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job on the side). Question, did ya ever see the episode where they went to the center of the earth and were around the lava people? It was wicked cool!
And now for a comment about the song,
"Needs moar syncopation?"
I dunno man, just being random. Nicely done. Later on!

Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

To be honest, I've never seen the shows that you spoke of! I agree it could use a little syncopation, but I was going for a mechanical vibe like you said. Thanks much for your review!

Dvibe 4th May 2011 01:44 - 15 years ago

ShortBusMusic 27th Apr 2011 23:16 - 15 years ago

I have to agree with Wayne. The longer the one went, the more fun it became...almost like some great auditory roller coaster ride. Terrific work, but that is no surprise.

This is a wonderful listen. And for the record, I think squirrels are cool :)

In the musical chat-room of late, I've been encountered several artists with full on phobia's of squirrels. Actually dated a girl briefly in the `80's who suffered from that, and now I'm tempted to direct them all to this track the next time it comes up. Perhaps it's the sonic cure to what ails them?

I love how experimental this sounds. Like Nuada, I'm definitely hearing the tendril like connection to Industrial with non-musical sounds making a glorious harmonic racket. Combined with Glitch, and "Ethnic" - well...what a ride! Nice one!

Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

I can imagine having a fear of squirrels I guess, would be nice if this was a cure... ha ha!

Thanks for your interesting and helpful review! I always like hearing from you!

ALXSIX 28th Mar 2011 20:56 - 15 years ago

theHumps 27th Mar 2011 20:52 - 15 years ago

More fun the longer it went, especially liked the pan flute, it fit perfectly and lifted the song up, too cool! I was waiting for it to end there with the synths but the cymbal was not expected but much appreciated! Excellent track you put together!
