Description : An 80BPM psychedelic, chillout, deep groove electric cello spectacular. It mostly consists of multiple layers of my heavily edited cello playing techniques (harmonics, pizzicato, bowing, tremoloing and a little spiccato) plus drums. Other instruments: bass guitar, 8 bars of electric guitar, Fender Rhodes, a trancey synth, one occasional bass synth and a processed chimey guitar synth. It's fairly minimal instrumentation for me as this is all about my cello explorations as I learn how to play the instrument and what sort of sounds I can get out of it. Drums are programmed hip hop and hard rock kits (2 of each), plus some fun glitch processing on one kit in a middle section. No drum loops. This was quite difficult to make and I've had to show real restraint in not making it longer and not adding any guitar in the rocking last 2 minutes. That just seemed too predictable so I chose not to do it at all. Shimmering, high, bowed, funky cello all the way instead! Have a listen and leave me some interesting thoughts and/or suggestions.

Description : This is my entry to the November competition on the Audio Sparks for Art site. The song represents an enhanced workflow for me, considering the changes in my studio which had barely been accessed until now. No software instruments or loops/samples were used in composing this piece. On the contrary, each instrument represents an individual piece of hardware gear, including my DIY modular synth, my latest circuit bent drum module (the 2XKawa), Yamaha YS200, Microkorg, Casio CZ-101, Dual Zoom drum machines, and the Gibson organ played through my Kustom amp. This is also the first time I've used Expert Sleepers Silent Way in a completed track... this allowed me to clock the 2xKawa from my DAW using the DC coupled outputs of my audio interface. Almost every track contained here had live manipulation of some sort while recording, including amplitude modulation, filter modulation, control of delay parameters, spontaneous drum rolls, trumpet wow accents, as well as volume and sustain pedal work. Description : Fresh out of the studio after 10 weeks of deliberating, planning, writing and performing.
This could be classed as Country Blues or Southern Rock...either way I think it may get your toes tapping. So grab your partner and jump on the dance floor with this one.
I am performing the following instruments...vocals, electric guitars, slide acoustic, bass, harmonica, organ. I wrote the following instrument parts in MIDI....drums, percussion, piano, horns. This was a beast to master but I think it turned out okay.

Description : This is not a epic track with epic drum and dark Egyptian themed masterpiece. There are no strings or sounds effects on that track. Also there are no choirs, brass, organ, cello, trumpet,tuba, harp, violins and Archeopterix (its a common instrument). You may hate that pretty low quality and short track with no epic sounds or even tempo.Do not write any comment or feedback. I hope I didn't describe this weak track. Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...

Description : The start...
I bought myself an electric guitar and that was the initial start for this song. After some chords i thought it would be nice with a vocal track and one of the best sources for that is just looperman. So i found EpicRecord and Yeah. Then i needed background vocals and turned to one of my previous songs and found Charlene's voice. After a while i found Janis71 and her work and it was merged into the song.

But I must say what I'm most proud of in this song is the trumpet and saxophone work . I really wish I could play that instrument for real and not just on the keyboard.

OK, some meta or self-referential stuff.
I keep making glitchy sounding remixes. My Reaching Out remix had segments of "glitchy" or hopping/repeating/looping clips, so did my Watchmojo intro remix. And now this song has the same concept... why do I keep doing this?!?! I really do not know. Maybe I do it because I like the sound of it, or because its easier, or anything... I, myself have no clue xD woe is me, not really.

This is a short instrumental piece which works as an ideal "closure" of the first side of the album. Description : This one's a bit different for me, breaking away from the jazz and funk for awhile. This is sort of a dark pop/rock track, incorporating a favorite instrument of mine, the mellotron (VST.) This track kinda took on a life of it's own. Description : I think this may well be the best thing I've done so far. Both sound technically and musically.

The song's title describes some of what I really wanted to achieve. A simple sound of a sawtooth as the main instrument in front of the piano, but another part of me wanted something completely different. In the latter part of the song I play the drums along with Kong Drum Machine, he is much tighter than I am, but I have more feeling for the fill-ins, I think we complement each other.

Description : Probably the greatest banj-metal-hiphop-jazz joint ever. With lead saxophone, house bass, rock and metal guitars, Eastern banjo, jazz and hip hop drums and a tasty dose of drum and bass thrown squarely in your face. You can headbang or throw some body-poppin hippity-hoppity shapes to this mofo, for real. A lot of genres covered in 7 minutes so hopefully the time will fly by. And, yes, there really is acoustic banjo as a lead instrument on top of some crunching and crashing metal guitar and drums. Long live Banj Metal!

Description : Nu-Jazz groove featuring LisMarie from LooperMan and her autotuned solo 'Chase'. I put her solo on a chilled plate, adding lots of floating percussion and strings inspired by Claus Ogerman (who did the Bossa Nova album of Frank Sinatra) hoping to create a melancholic atmosphere while still jiving. I especially like this because her singing is like a jazz instrument. Sometimes on, sometimes slightly after of before the beat. I did not try to sync, because I like it better this way. It gives the song a 'live' feeling.
