Ambitious production Paul. In some way it reminds me of the Style Council. Music is light, has its standout moments. It's def your style, well done with the lyrics as well.

Hope all is well!

Hey dimestop my friend ! Great to hear another track from you. I love your different take on music, its so original ! Sort of thing John Peel would’ve played which is no bad thing. The words on this are really prominent having suffered poor mental health over the years, so it really resonated with me. Great stuff man

hi James nice to see you around mate thanks for the feedback your post means alot sharing your plight is brave mate but sharing helped me take control of my issues and if it can help just one person to look at themselves first and not be scared to share with others i will feel happy, there's alot that suffer in silence and I'm trying to tell them things can change if you ask whether that be friends and family who probably know anyway, but wont approach you for fear of hurting you more or a specialist who works in that field, they don't have all the answers but you can take the best bits and make it work for you. admitting it to yourself is the first hurdle if you can do that, you can then make the changes, so thanks again for leaving a comment, more of us have a lot in common, and im not talking music here. im so proud to promote awareness

Hey mate, I'm a sucker for piano in any track, like using in most of my tunes, loving the clear sound but to me the vocals are the standout, I think nearly everyone in the world has or knows of someone who has been through what is being portrayed through the vocals, very nice thought evoking track, you on vocals? slight English accent coming through vocals :) Fav'd n thank you for sharing this one...Peace n Respect mosaic...

i wrote a song today with the line suffer in silence and then I stumble upon this dimestop. it's cool knowing someone shares the same sentiment. also i love the uniqueness in you work

dimestop replied 1st Oct 2023 - 9 months ago
thanks for the stop off bro great you share my sentiments, suffer in silence is a great title, i look forward to it, i know i wax lyrical and blow off but thats just my ego dimestop, Paul is a very different person he has his own feelings but spreading awareness that affects many more people than most think can only be good news eh.

Nice work on the track Paul, you put a good touch on this one. Good depth to the mix. It's busy but it works. Good message too, too many people suffer in silence, and still stigma abounds. Hopefully it's changing a bit now...

thanks for the stop off Chris, a cause i support and i'm happy to promote too many do suffer in silence, there is a lot of stigma too, but people are finally starting to realise mental health is an issue, i understand my own issues far better now than when i was younger spreading awareness is important. i dont have all the answers but it truly starts with yourself, i control IT now instead of the other way round, thanks again for the positives mate.

Hello Paul, without now having the last version in your ear, I mean that your voice is now better and clearer. In addition, she no longer overlaps with the other instruments. I think the change was worth it.

Again great praise from me

Hello Paul, you succeeded in the text well. I also think this text is authentic! To the song itself. The mix is good, every instrument has its place and its effect. To my taste a little too much echo on the voice. On the other hand, the effect also underlines the psychodellic character of the song. It is certainly difficult to find a mean here that is acceptable for everyone
Finally, a big praise from me for your step to create this song completely without samples. I know how difficult this is! Thumbs up!
Once again to the text. I like such texts better than ....., you know what I mean.
Greetings Manuela

dimestop replied 20th Sep 2023 - 10 months ago
hi Manuela, thanks for your comment, mental health affects everyone differently, it's supposed to have a double meaning, im playing both sides, but the biggest truth is it starts with YOU.
the title alone is double meaning. look at you, meaning it starts with you, but look at you meaning how far you've come despite all your set backs.
the keys are to delicately grab your attention, the percs are that knock on your head when the truth finally dawns, the horn was to provide a little triumph, the sub-base is the the sinking feeling you get and the strings are there to rip your heart out and the one riser and sub base after, all placed with great thought was the realising that if you share your problems with people you trust that weight is instantly lifted.
i consider myself a survivor because i control it now. happiness is your choice, you CAN choose when to be happy, i don't waste time on things i can't change, i concentrate on the things i can change. like i say if it helps just one person it will have achieved success, hope this gives you a clearer understanding as why its the way it is. thanks again for your positive thoughts you are appreciated lady

I didn't know you could play the keyboard and some instruments.
I'm not familiar with this genre but what is it like a spoken word type with acoustics? Good effects on vocals. I don't know man cuz I don't know if I want to listen to you or I want to dance I got to choose it's kind of hard for me to focus I got to be honest to you

i can get a tune out of a keyboard im not great, my younger brother is a good pianist and guitarist he's played with some big stars like Alan Mair and Dave Stewart. i played drums for years but got rid of my pearl set awhile ago now, drum machines aren't great but they are quieter if you get my meaning.
and i appreciate every time you listen bro, some of my work is lets say hard to listen too, so i understand you got to be in the mood, keep sharing your opinions homie it helps more than you think

Thank you so much for your explanation and help.
This weekend I want to get my desktop ready for use again and I will try to get my midi right and see what nice things I can download from the links you sent me.
I mistook your email for advertising and didn't open it lol
Of course I don't mind if you email me.
I really appreciate that you think of me and want to help.
We are the fruitylopers and started almost at the same time .
And we have seen each other grow
with our blunders and insecurities..
Although you always had more courage than me, your perseverance has motivated me to show a little more courage.
Thanks Paul

Nice that you playing a keyboard.
I have 1 but there is a delay when i touch the keys.
So i dont use it.

ive got a couple of keyboards just never had them out for ages.
i sent you a private mail few days ago, might be in spam or old account just some pointers and some really good freebies with links. giving back, your a good friend and FL user :))
as for your issue i can suggest a cheap, and cheap being free and decent solution.
open FL open your sampler and add fruity keys or close grand from your instrument pack, drag and drop it on to your sampler. highlight the typing keyboard first one after song position button, right click it and choose minor natural + chords, then use your letter and number keys as your piano nice sound and no delay. you can use them to play any instrument, vst or plugin. and guess what FL is always recording you, even if your just messing and you come up with a little melody and can't remember what you pressed, press tools tab press dump to score log you can choose up to 30 mins, press it then open your piano rack and its all nicely placed in there for you, all the notes if you made a mistake you can change the midi too bingo your a pianist :))

This one is special
You're a really good songwriter.

So beautiful how you say: I know you scared, I'm scared too.
Hats off to you again.

thanks Rita im really proud of this work, even if only one person that suffers with mental illness takes something from listening i will have achieved my goal. i was so scared, firstly accepting something was wrong then coming out and saying it. now look at me, i openly promote it. i know it starts with you first, then, and only then can you tackle how your going to make things change to suit you, take ownership of it then your in control

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.

After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …

Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
