Ian: Just checked out your track. Really enjoyed it. Interesting idea to do the mashup. Worked out really well. Kept my interest for the entire track, with introduction of, often subtle, new elements. Mix was nicely balanced.
I’ve just had my most recent track critiqued as being, well, uninspiring and not inventive. A valid criticism. That would definitely NOT be a critique for your track!
I'm a big fan of both y'alls work here on LM.
You know I'm a freak for all the avantgarde ideas
and this track and it's full of all kinds of stuff you wouldn't
expect from it. Excellent Mix/Master, great collab.
Hey Jynxz - thanks mate - Im always particularly pleased when people who really (and I mean REALLY) know how to play appreciate my own efforts - it's very encouraging. Please do check out Chris's original track it's beautiful dub jazz number and much less an assault on the ears.
Hey there - thanks for listening it is a mash up for sure - I was going to put frank yola's no baking soda over my track but dragged chris' track into the daw and loved how they sounded together ...so cut it up a bit ... not for everyone! : )
Sounds like jammin to me. Makin it up on the fly. That's the most fun way to go anyway. That that hat clamp is relentless. This is like some of that "dark jazz" from 2012ish (a tiny sort lived genre I wanted to bring back). Nice vox towards the end.
What's good paeudoble, extremely unique project. Drum and Bass is not a familiar genre, but I love the creativity, and complexity of the track, nice work.
Interesting to listen to, trying to absorb it all in takes a few listens but worth it. Sometimes I find if I give a song several listens I can understand more what the producer's aim was. Sometimes I miss the point totally, lol. Plenty to enjoy and pick out, liked the shaker and the backwards parts.
Creative track, neat collab, congrats to both of you!
Thanks Wayne - the ditch refers to the channel between Aotearoa (aka New Zealand) and the Australia. Chris and I the the 2 dudes ... though I think he probably has a lot more style than me! Im pretty pleased with this track I guess more so because the final result was unexpected but I agree there is often lots to listen too in tracks if you lean in and take the time to really have a good listen. As always I appreciate your careful listen and the warm feedback : )
Hey Maj - how you doing there - I was hoping to see another collaboration from you and Robin (you know I think of you two as the Lennon and McCartney of Looperman)
Hope the new year is treating you and your family and loved ones well (I've started with what I think is covid so that is a bit lousy ; ( - thanks be to god for daw's and vst instruments to take my mind off it)
Thanks for listening
Well it wasnt all accidental - although accidental does kind of some up my learning process it was really only finding that Chris track actually added a lot to mine that was a complete fluke! And even then I asked his permission before I buried the gentle beauty of his track in something more full on.
Thanks for listening and the warm feedback, always much appreciated : )
Thats a interesting original mix Pseudo.
I think its difficult to mix jaz with other styles but you didd it in the good way without making a mess.
Nice woman vox in it.
Well done mister.
I said it in my response but again the best wishes for 2022
Thanks for listening - Loved Chris's track and that I was able to borrow much of it albeit to make something rather different - his elements and talent add a lot to this one I feel but I really hope people listen to his Qualia Dub track because it's gorgeous and rather buried in here with everything else : )
Nice track Ian, great sound, glitchy jazz with a kicking d and b beat, Chris is happy too, a pleasant listen, my latest is controversial, as you mention COVID this IS the new war were still having to deal with. Happy new year mate, take care
Hey Paul - Happy new year to you mate - crook so awake instead of asleep at 220 am here. I dont think Ive heard you new one but I am a bit braindead atm
Thanks for listening : )
Hey there - thanks for listening and the feedback - I was surprised how well these things fitted together (though Im sure not everyone will think so!) : )
A happy accident you dropping my track into your project by mistake! Sounds great, cool groove and bass line, ace guitar and I see you even indulged in my bad habit of playing stuff backwards lol. This is full of texture and subtle variations. I like. Hope you're feeling better over there on the other side of the ditch.
A happy accident indeed - I was tempted to still add the no baking soda (frank yola) vox which is what I was going to do but I loved your track and it sounded so good (to my ears) in with what I already had. Covid test tomorrow - sick a as a dog : (

Description : Updated 1/7/2023. This is a progressive fusion flavored jazz number. I called on fellow Looperman DISCIPLINE to season this composition with that FIRE GUITAR, and he did! Let me know your thoughts on this one. Enjoy.
Description : Now on youtube: youtu.be/0RYfA4iCsSA, soon out on my upcoming album "Step by Step"!
==============
Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
Description : A spoopy song, early for Halloween. This was a collaboration with Micky, who did most of the work.
A musical realization of a poem by Thomas Hardy
Idea: Spearcarrier
Voices: Spearcarrier & Micky
Music: Micky
Genre: We don't know yet. Suggestions welcome. LOL
Description : the rise of AI
this i would describe as hip-hop space rock, last night of the proms sort :))
its different, a fusion of genres, this is all played by me, no loops. got a little more music theory now, so put it to the test.
its my first attempt at writing something myself and hopefully show i can produce a bit too. i wanted all the instruments to have their place but to shine alone, let me know if you think i achieved my description.
Description : Return To Forever was a group that started my love of fusion jazz and this is my attempt to cover their 1976 track, “The Romantic Warrior. I know I wore out several inceptions of this album from LP, cassette and 8 track. The original track was over 10 minutes long, so I abridged it some. Hope you like and download.
Description : A moroccan traditional song from 70s titled "Toudart" which means "Life" in Moroccan berber/Tamazight, revived and composed in a modern way, I used minor2go's piano loop which you can hear on the background, everything elese is from me.
Description : Found some 70's funk drum loops that I liked and added some funk horn loops. Then I found some effects and percussion loops that worked well with the bass loops I found. Yeah, all loops but 1 vocal track of mine. :) Funk/fusion? Might be cool to have some hip hop styled vox on this, any takers?
Description : It is pretty hard to set a genre to this music sorry. So if someone have a better idea about what genre it is feel free to tell me.For that one I focused on the melodies instead the complexity (a lot of instrument with fx). So basically this tune is a piano one featuring piano, organ and 2 synths only no drum or fx.All those instrument follow the same melodie(composed by myself took me hours for that XD) The name is due my mom loved that one as the one I did for her long time ago. This is more a experimentation for me so plz have that in mind when you will write a comment. Also there are a surprise at 1:42 min.Hope you will enjoy this one.I also profit to say all my works will be avaliable to download without having to post a comment for the may 30 only.the reason is a mystery.
I’ve just had my most recent track critiqued as being, well, uninspiring and not inventive. A valid criticism. That would definitely NOT be a critique for your track!

Eric
