Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Wow, how the heck did I miss this one? I always know when I hit play that I am going to hear a professional mix, and you did not disappoint. But you did something else, you managed to compose one of the best songs I've heard in quite some time. I think TG said this was a highway song, and that is my thought exactly. Since I travel quite a bit to see our granddaughter, I will download this one (thanks for that) to help all those miles pass by enjoyably. FANTASTIC WORK!!! This track belongs in a movie my friend. Happy holidays to you and your family Orlando.
Haha, Barry...you didn't miss just this one...you actualy missed
quite alot of my newest stuff (with Ed on board) like for example this one: http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/161805 or maybe this one: http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/162598...ofcourse I'm joking and I don't blame you for that because I know myself how hard is to keep the track on all those tons of material here on LM...there's just not enough time for everything..^^
But foremost I'm here now to say big thank you for your generous feedback and I'm really happy that you appreciate the track so much.:)Just drive carefully if you put that thing in your car stereo...I also wish you and your family happy holidays.:)
What a nice and chilly track. And this guitar, not the lead one, i realy love this warm sound. It puts a line into my mind
- i am running , around, the world -
I dont know why the guitar sings that line to me but i loved that :)
Realy enjoyed the listen. Very cool, very calm but also groovy and sure chilly.
Nice build up! :D I like how it gets crazy then the countdown and we're led back into the madness! :D It's like listening/watching a huge band(multiple members)like Grateful Dead do one of their live jams everybody playing different melodies, improvising, but they all work together! Crazy how music works. WOW! what a trip :P Just the kind of music I love and exactly WHY I love music sooo much :D That bass... haha excellent mix, I hate when the bass gets buried in the mix, when it's the bass that really moves the rythym along! Thanks for the dl, this is going on my player :D
Nice track O! Big fat bass sound, love it! The synths are a nice contrast to the smooth guitars. Wow, that distorted instrument is heavy in the middle. I see some have mentioned it. I like the effect, it adds some tension but I....don't know, lol. Great track though, mix is big and clean and it has an emotional aspect to it.
Always good to hear from you, Wayne...yeah that distorted thing is "enfant terrible" of this song...well, I don't know either..HaHa..
Anyways, thanks alot for another positive feedback...
Hi. I like the movement of the bass before the drums enter.
Then at 0:42 the lead simple bent note guitar part catches my attention, as does the what I think is tabla arriving subtly behind it.
Then some good far out pads become more prominent and this is some pretty relaxing, gentle stuff but with some groove and solid bass.
2:27 overdriven guitar is good but seems to be fighting with the mix. I'd suggest dropping some other elements eg the pads to give it more room. Drums are also getting a bit lost.
I'd also prefer the drums to have more changes as they sit quite flat for too long and are a bit too steady (though it's a decent groove). I thought the return of the drums on 4:11 was a good opportunity to come back in with some different drums (probably more powerful).
My kind of vibe and melodies but I'd prefer a clearer mix and a bit more variety, that's all. You may be happy with it exactly as it is.
Thanks alot for your honest and comprehensive review. You have good points in your criticism of certain elements of the track. I was well aware about those shortcomings even before your comment came in but I just don't have enough time these days to arrange things more carefully and also diversely . I hope situation will change in the future...
Yeahhh...sexy is the keyword here.:) Many thanks for stopping by to listen and posting this sexy comment^^...also thanks for the 'fav'...much appreciated!
I liked this jam, but in the middle I feel there were a little too many instruments competing for my attention. Maybe back off some of them and give it a little more room to breathe. I like the main vibe of this song, relaxing and chill.
The first few mixes that I've made were pretty minimalistic and would probably appeal to more people, but I was in a mood of toying further with this thing which is always a risk...
...you never know, you may improve things, but it often goes for the worse and I'm well aware I was a bit exagerating this time...I really appreciate your honest feedback and advice.:)
cool! it is more chillout and relaxing track than really fusion for me. very fine guitar lines - reminds me of widescreen 'High Plains Sunrise' by Tumbleweed. Very good synth lead in the second section also! Some very gently female voice elements added - I really like that.
Good chillout vibes and excellent production. Probably the best from what I've heard from you so far - I need to check out some more of you music!
Alex
Yeah, I could have used different tags on this one since this track isn't stylisticaly fixed. Comparing those guitar lines to something from Ed's repertoire I can only see as a big compliment. Also thanks for recognizing the value of production which is probably the only aspect I'm really satisfied with personaly...
Ofcourse you're most welcome to check some more of my music..:)
Very relaxing track, it's a change for me, I usually enjoy heavy fast paced music but I have found I'm starting to listen to more mellow sounding music.
So thank you for the uplifting a relaxing tune. You did an excellent job on the construction and the production of this track.
Orlando my friend....I knew it would be good before I hit play...but it is even beyond my high expectation of your music...superb production values (I`m listening on headphones tonight)...love the composition ideas you bring in...those breaks that let the sound soak into your mind...Definitely a fav...and thank you for the download...this one is going on my MP3 player for my Sunday walk in the park.....EXCELLENT.........Ed
Welcome again Ed...I have to admit I had a bit of a 6th sense
you will like this.:)I can't explain rationaly why, but I simply felt that way...and now it seems even more...your words give me a hint this could be your favorite Orlando track to date. And ofcourse I trust your verdict more than anyone else, so for me personaly is nice to know that I can
surpass myself from time to time, yet there's always that burden of obligation not to fall into abyss of stagnation afterwards.
Anyways, I'm really happy and grateful for this generous feedback of yours. When a fellow musician whom I admire the most says this is excellent, I can't wish anything better.:)
Man always impressed when entering your profile to check out your tunes, always an exceptionally high quality, and this one confirms that, great guitar mate, light beat to suit this style and sound, loving the string pads in the background, brilliant listen for a Sunday morning here...Fav...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
so cool at 2:30 with the new synth (or guitar?) sound. i'm liking the active bass line throughout and i'm moving. beautiful sounds taking me to a better place. thank you.
Sensational fusion as you said...pro mix, but this is a must from the winner...:-)
I can hear out that you worked with Ed in some project...and I truly think that this lifted your emotional and heartfelt 'work' to another level...cause it's world class production...no, don't think it's too much, it's the real fact...
I really had problems with categorization, but I think it is fusion at least in the sense of older definition of the genre emphasising on use of different styles. But that's not the only problem...here on Looperman it sounds considerably different than on my desktop which is weird...never experienced something like that so I'm a bit pissed, HaHa...
I tried with a few slight remixes and updates but it's still the same shit, so I give up...I guess I will have to eat this..^^
But foremost I'm here to say big thank you for such a generous feedback...and yes, you're right about Ed...We've had some collaborations in the past and I'm sure there will be more...in fact I'm just working on one of his musical blueprints. Being in creative touch with his music helped me alot in acheiving new levels...I will be always grateful...
Stay tuned, dear neighbour_____Orlando

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
Description : A spoopy song, early for Halloween. This was a collaboration with Micky, who did most of the work.
A musical realization of a poem by Thomas Hardy
Idea: Spearcarrier
Voices: Spearcarrier & Micky
Music: Micky
Genre: We don't know yet. Suggestions welcome. LOL
Description : Real acoustic, electric and bass guitars played by me. Drums are loops and programmed MIDI. Played piano and synths. Lots of layers and delay. A gated moog, organ, my recorded finger-snaps and a reversed bass guitar effect that sounds like throat-singing. Three movements, divided by moments of calm. Thoughts and feedback are welcome.
Description : the rise of AI
this i would describe as hip-hop space rock, last night of the proms sort :))
its different, a fusion of genres, this is all played by me, no loops. got a little more music theory now, so put it to the test.
its my first attempt at writing something myself and hopefully show i can produce a bit too. i wanted all the instruments to have their place but to shine alone, let me know if you think i achieved my description.
Description : Return To Forever was a group that started my love of fusion jazz and this is my attempt to cover their 1976 track, “The Romantic Warrior. I know I wore out several inceptions of this album from LP, cassette and 8 track. The original track was over 10 minutes long, so I abridged it some. Hope you like and download.
Description : A moroccan traditional song from 70s titled "Toudart" which means "Life" in Moroccan berber/Tamazight, revived and composed in a modern way, I used minor2go's piano loop which you can hear on the background, everything elese is from me.
Description : Found some 70's funk drum loops that I liked and added some funk horn loops. Then I found some effects and percussion loops that worked well with the bass loops I found. Yeah, all loops but 1 vocal track of mine. :) Funk/fusion? Might be cool to have some hip hop styled vox on this, any takers?
