Description : the rise of AI
this i would describe as hip-hop space rock, last night of the proms sort :))
its different, a fusion of genres, this is all played by me, no loops. got a little more music theory now, so put it to the test.
its my first attempt at writing something myself and hopefully show i can produce a bit too. i wanted all the instruments to have their place but to shine alone, let me know if you think i achieved my description.

Yo Paul sorry for my late reaction.
I was a few days on a little holiday.
So you see??
This sounds cool!!
Proof that you can certainly do it without loops.
It's more satisfying if you can say that a track is completely your own, right?

Paul, this is beautiful mate. Faved and downloaded. The keys in the intro are sweeter than sweet. Beautiful delay and reverb. Love the minimal percs. Strings too. Well done man.

hi Chris thanks for the lovely comment its really appreciated. i truly surprised myself with this. i had the idea and i believed i had the skill to pull it off as ive done a massive amount of research on the music theory side, but it did have a split second stutter, i only realised when i uploaded. it was late so i went to bed. the next day i repaired the problem, it was the limiter. but i also noticed i had one of the delays muted, probably forgot to unmute it when mastering my levels i had two in play so opened it and i was amazed how it changed everything i have three delays on this work now including the granddaddy Valhalla Supermassive so thanks for picking it out, the keys are sweet and thats were i started thanks for the fav mate

HI P,

Now this is something different from you & I must say I like it a lot! I don't know why the robotic voice reminded me of a David Bowie song but in any case this is super duper cool! you have outdone yourself with this one, very creative! indeed. Nice One.

hi Angel,
thanks for your comment and your constant support, i appreciate our community and the wonderful talent we have and the help they give me.
it is a little different and i was inspired by the likes of how our great friends, BeatMaker and Kingmt77 do it. of course there are loads of others too that give me inspiration but i think you know where im coming from, BM is sic with his MPC and keyboard and Mark just finds so much space in his work to let all the instruments sing, i was really pleased how this turned out

Paul. Nice one! The ambient atmosphere you’ve created is phenomenal. The narration too. But the drum track is flame! I really like how you gave every sound its own individual zone. Great presentation. I’m digging this new phase of musical expression you’ve set out. Keep ‘em coming in this vein. Peace.

Hello Mark thanks for your time and comment, trying to find space for the individual instruments is something ive learnt from you and some other great producers here i was really pleased with what i achieved.
thanks for the nod on the drums, i wanted some play on snare kick and tom tom and laid a set of hats kick and snare to define a clear difference. all programmed in FPC one of the fruity loop drum machines
i enjoyed this experiment new ideas and something completely out of my comfort zone and i was really pleased with the atmosphere, it was a clean 808 that i added reverb and delay then it was a case of placement, there was more but i removed them and replaced with a drone pad riser that i reversed, thanks again for your stop off mate

Hello Paul,
welcome to the club! *smile Great work beyond popular chord progressions. I think it's great how you managed to produce such an interesting and good piece of music without dramatic chord changes and with such a minimal use of instruments.
This morning I listened to it in the car and later again over studio speakers. The mix is absolutely balanced, the vocals get straight to the point and are easy to understand despite the intended mechanization. Only at the end there is a clear stuttering when the instruments fade away. You should fix that. Mix and mastering are good.

A great first work!

Greetings Manuela

dimestop replied 16th Aug 2023 - 10 months ago
thankyou Maneela,
:))first off, there are two areas, the beginning is stuttering for a split second too, not as noticeable as the end though, you may not spot it but i do. in my daw it doesn't sound like that because it rolls straight over, i noticed it as soon as i uploaded, it was late and after a couple hours mastering. i went to bed. its the delay and i will alter that when i open my DAW, great that you pulled me on it too, thats what i want lady.
as you know my theory is basic at best, i now know why i have big ears, they are your best piece of kit.
and yes only a few instruments Piano violins viola horn and drums, the 808 and drone pad where just to add atmosphere, i was really pleased with what i achieved, thanks again for your support, oh, tell Angelica i wont be running her close on keys anytime soon either :))

thanks mate it was an interesting experiment, also the first time i have really utilised my DAW properly, i knew what i wanted and how to get there this time, instead of just adding things because they sound good. although i do need to tweak the delay

thanks for your time mildperil, i totally agree with you i dont see a gap. when i first joined 3 years ago i was a rank amateur didnt even know what a DAW was :)) i thought everyone sounded pro, im still learning and cant believe what ive achieved so far considering i dont read music and my theory is basic at best. i play drums (badly) got rid of my pearl set years ago though, thanks for the positive comment bro its appreciated

Hey Paul, nice to see that you're also taking off for space... remember: there is no day and no night up there, no up and no down, no roads and no crash barriers. You can only rely on yourself (although, ironically, this is also true in many cases down here). How do you know if you are a robot? If everyone else is too. Does it even matter?
I like that you are experimenting. I think that's how you get ahead and have the chance to move out of your usual environment and your comfort zone. In general it's brave and you've done a really good job with this track. Keep it up. cheers

hey Micky first visit to space for me, alone in the vastness, nobody to help out, the journey was bumpy, well thats how it felt when i first openned the synth, i was like WTF. after an hour of research and playing the ship steadied a little as i plotted the route through the stars
i ended up using 4 :)) harmless harmor sakura and vocal synth2, done all the drums in FPC. i added a riser and reversed it to add to the atmosphere of the 808 i put together.
and they didnt know they were robots,
this is their normal, nothing wrong with normal, although thats been taught out of us these days, the world has been overrun with corrupt politicians and the woke agenda, were in a mess mate

thanks for the listen Cinco, the robot vox are pre-set words and phrases from within my DAW FL studio. i ran them through vocal synth2 and added a little delay and reverb and tweaked the release and decay. the keys are were i started, i played them on FL Keys and then just built on it with the strings and woodwind

==============
Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.

Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.

Description : It is pretty hard to set a genre to this music sorry. So if someone have a better idea about what genre it is feel free to tell me.For that one I focused on the melodies instead the complexity (a lot of instrument with fx). So basically this tune is a piano one featuring piano, organ and 2 synths only no drum or fx.All those instrument follow the same melodie(composed by myself took me hours for that XD) The name is due my mom loved that one as the one I did for her long time ago. This is more a experimentation for me so plz have that in mind when you will write a comment. Also there are a surprise at 1:42 min.Hope you will enjoy this one.I also profit to say all my works will be avaliable to download without having to post a comment for the may 30 only.the reason is a mystery.
