Description : Break up song of sorts lol. Vox, guitars and keys by Zootman. Beats and bass free Loopmasters demo. Words are (mostly) what I thought Damo Suzuki was singing on One More Night by Can. Instrumental or stems avail if anyone wants to play with it.

Who'd have thought it could be so much fun pretending to be someone you aren't. Felt a bit nihilistic hitting you up to listen to this one, but oh well and thanks for the listen. Loved your comment.

Hey! This is great, the vibe is very cool. This should be in the movie Boogie Nights, lol!!

Great tempo to walk to with some decent headphones so you can hear the bass loud. Vox work perfectly. What can I say that hasn't already been said, sweet track man!

Just listened to your latest, great fun! Thanks for the listen. Funny you mention walking to this. I do a lot of walking for work and pleasure and I think sometimes just about all my music is at a walking tempo!

Thanks Terry, definitely a jam. when i listen to it now I'm not sure if the vox/lyrics are a tease or a taunt, but I kinda like the ambiguity. Cheers Chris

loved the wah guitars but the real star is the drums and that funky bass. Almost an I'm afraid of Americans feel to it. Awesome work, fav'd

Thanks Cru, yep the two things I didn't create lol. But yeah as soon as I got the bass and drums together I knew I had to use it. Cheers.

Dude I have listened to this 5 times today. The EXACT vibe at the EXACT time I needed it. Thank you so much for this! It almost has a Gorillaz or Cake-ish sound to it. Not remotely a bad thing.

I'm glad to hear it man. I've emailed you via Looperman and given you my email address. Send me yours and I'll flick you the vocal stems. All I ask is if you make something with it, that you share it with me too! Cheers Chris

this is so fresh Chris got a hip hop bounce in there with that jazz, the title is cool AF. another great vocal mate, it appealled to me and my situation over the last year or so with work colleagues, all gutless pricks, no more fuck with me now, i threatened them, and walked out. not the cleverest thing, but i dont do clever, just reality.
thats why ive been quiet of late, lost my mojo a bit, not been in the mood even though i got my upgrade, i aint done nothing.
but ive done a bit of listening today and this and others have perked me up in the 30 degree uk sun, yep its red hot. and to top it, the start of my cities dance and street art festival, last year was great.
cool listen for me for sure, there is daring in it just like me

woah man, heatwave. good luck with the dance comp bro. and sorry to hear about the job, I remember you being pretty excited about getting it a while back :( Hope we'll hear something new from you soon but you know, if the inspiration isn't there sometimes its best just to accept that. Then one day..boom, something emerges out of nothing.

Get down!

Nice swampy vibe, great playing all round (esp the guitar and keys), great vocal performance, lyric made me smile, great sound, cool beats.

When are you touring? Im buying a ticket ; )

Zootman replied 19th Jun 2022 - 1 year ago
swampy yes, you know no-one has ever lost out combining the themes of sex and religion, thinking of the Reverend Al Green, Madonna and probably many others. I was pretty happy with the lyrics too, such as they are!

This song is a mix of so many things that I would have never thought worked together. Not only did you make it work but you did it in the greatest way possible, smooth like a criminal. It's like rock, jazz, and a little sprinkle of hip hop all bundled into one. Great work here!

This is like Stereo MCs got ahold of a Tom Waits tune, turned it into a funkcicle and had Ray Manzarek lick it.

Cool, man. I dig it.

Take care.

Cheers man, I love your enthusiasm! I was pretty happy with the vocal, getting into using my condenser mic again and with basic nektar vst they're coming up pretty clear in the mix which is good. I've struggled with how to process vox in the past.

Hi, thanks man. The keys were actually Addictive Keys electric piano but played with lots of modulation wheel. I go turned onto Can about 35 years ago and they've been a constant musical companion ever since. Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi and Future Days probably my favourites. I have to say I'm still intrigued by your computer generated tracks, I think that's fascinating. Just listened to this this morning, I think I'm going to try it out writing lyrics!

dude you gotta stop taking the Lords name in vain. Cheers man, this was a jam from start to finish really, one take on keys (no quantization), synth, mostly one take on vox, couple on guitar. then it was just a matter of making holes in it so to speak.

This song gives me distinct Tom Waits vibes. The sparse texture, the sultry, dark vocals and the poetic but visceral lyrics. Great stuff sir!

Thank you very much, I could imagine the Tom Waits using a similar sort of beat (sixteen shells from a 30-06 maybe), but it would be full of him banging tin lids etc! Thanks for the listen and comment.

Description : OK, I finally managed to find a song name, so here it is. But the genre is still open. WTF is it? World? Trip? Trance? Rock? psychedelic? .

I started this song with the wahwah background track, I think I wanted to go in the triphop direction but when I played with it and tried out things I added some Tabla sounds from the available sound library of the cubase software to it, just to get a feel for it. It sounded right somehow, and so it developed from there. As before, we did the work on wikiloops band section: bhunt1 (Brian) on Bass added his track, and rp3drums (Raymond) on drums (one straight drum track, and one para-diddle track). I then added several more guitar tracks.

So I would be happy to listen to your comments and advice, and if I get a good suggestion for name and genre I will change it. Cheers, TG :D
