Description : Hey there! Well this is a kind of "Christmas song". I know I have to improve my skills at mixing, but I'm still practicing. The instruments list is in the Lyrics section. Special thanks to XyIlent for his loop "Dark piano" (https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/86707/xyilent-dark-piano-by-xyilent-free-75bpm-ambient-piano-loop). I made this track on Magix Music Maker 2015 Premium and Adobe Audition 3.0. I hope you like this song. Thanks! SUN & MOON... FIRE & ICE HEART... LIGHT & DARK FUSION...

This is a great long mix, very impressive! It has a great flow and feel to it. Great to hear a producer from Ecuador!

Well, I don't consider myself a producer. I only mix sounds and try to make kinda music. Just for fun.

    Thanks for listen and comment.

Did you do the sound design on this one? Can you teach me how to make those ambient/lounge sounds?

As I said on description, the main melody is from a loop uploaded here, made by XyIlent. The rest of instruments I used is in the lyrics section. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for listen and comment.

This is a great sound. I've been a self-taught composer/producer for like half a year now and seeing what you can do with little to no training is a real inspiration. I even used one of your drum loops for a song of mine. It's not on this site yet (soon), but I left a link in the comments. Keep it up! I'd really like to hear some new original tracks from you!

No snowfall yet this year ;) I did one about falling snow as well, Farm in winter on Midisparks pg. Sure does have that holiday feeling. Use whatever DAW you're comfortable with and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it. Music lessons are free online, so much free info!! Practice, experiment, grow :D You're pretty good to begin with so if you do start some classes you'll find things making sense quite quickly. Not required for making music, but does help make sense of things. I find when I learn something new I have to try it in a composition.
It's like watching the snow drifting slowly to the ground on Christmas eve.

    The Snow - Emily Dickinson

It sifts from Leaden Sieves -
    It powders all the Wood.
    It fills with Alabaster Wool
The Wrinkles of the Road -

    It makes an even Face
Of Mountain, and of Plain -
    Unbroken Forehead from the East
    Unto the East again -

It reaches to the Fence -
It wraps it Rail by Rail
Till it is lost in Fleeces -
    It deals Celestial Vail

To Stump, and Stack - and Stem -
    A Summer’s empty Room -
Acres of Joints, where Harvests were,
    Recordless, but for them -

    It Ruffles Wrists of Posts
As Ankles of a Queen -
Then stills it’s Artisans - like Ghosts -
    Denying they have been -

Actually, I've never seen a snowfall. Here in Ecuador snow doesn't exist, specially in Guayaquil (where I live). The weather is too hot most of the year, and when is not, it rains. So, snow it's something like mythic.

I tried once to learn music online, but most of information is in English, mine is too basic to understand when someone talks on video. And, I can't understand music in my own language, worst in english, where musical notation is different (I mean, different names). In spanish musical notes are DO - RE - MI - FA - SOL - LA - SI... in english are C - D -E - F - G - A - B. When someone says "the tune is in E" (for example) I have to think and re-think trying to recall the corresponding note. So, it's a little bit harder.

Anyway, thanks for listening and comment!
    Peace!

    Hello ....

For someone, musical autodidact, I honestly think you're doing not bad at all .... This is a theme can be a bit repetitive, but the loops are used properly. It is true that MMM 2015 (or other), allows you to start easily, and to express themselves musically .... Aves you tried Samplitude or Music Studio, of Magix? A little more complex, certainly. Good luck for the future, you are on the right path .... I love what you have produced.

First, thanks for listen and comment... it's significative to me. To answer your question, no, I'm afraid that maybe Samplitude or Music Studio can be too difficult for me. Once I installed ProTools in my PC, and when I executed, it was like being in another planet. I could do nothing. So, music classes first, then the DAW.

Again, thanks for listen and comment!
    Best wishes.

Well.. this is a fantastic piece of music. You said you used MAGIX to make this? I started out making music on magix and know its not the best software. So the fact you made this on it is incredible.

Im glad the loop gave you inspiration, but i only made a loop you built a whole incredible song around it so thats something to be proud of :)

    Peace,

Yeah, I used Magix 'cause, as I said to asidRn, even FL Studio is too difficult for me. So, I find Magix easier to use. Maybe is because it works mainly with loops, so, it's more plain build the loops there, and then mix them in Audition. When I learn to compose, I will use a better DAW like Cubase, or ProTools or Reason.

Thanks for your loop, without it, this track wouldn't exist. So, thank you very much.

    Greetings from Ecuador!

oh... whoops! didn't mean to sound like a snob then. i was just tryina be helpful. xyilent is an awesome guy to find loops from by the way. i really enjoyed how you incorporated his loop!

like crucethus, this managed to captivate me for a straight 10 minutes. it was awesome! =D

I know that you wanted to be helpful, and I thank you, but as I said, I still don't know enough of music to understand what you said.
I made this track in so primitive way... I set up the loops on Magix, and mixed on Audition. Even FL Studio is too difficult for me.
Some day I will earn the enough money to pay music classes. But it will not be soon.
So then, I will continue practicing, even with my mistakes.

Again, thanks for listening and comment!

First and foremost this does not belong in the weird category because it is anything but weird. You have an ear for arranging sounds together to make a coherent song and in this one you have just been brilliant at it. I could go into a rational explanation of what I liked and what I might change (don't change anything BTW) but what I loved about this song is that it captured me for 10 minutes of my time with a cool spirit and energy that was a reminder of Christmas but something beautiful on it's own as well. This Holiday my wife is not well and spending it in the Hospital. As I leave the hospital everyday it takes a piece of my soul each visit. This song has helped me this christmas evening to feel better. And in any work that we may produce the ultimate goal is to touch people emotionally. This tune touched me this evening and I thank you for doing that. Have a great Christmas.

First, I hope your wife recovers her health. I know it's hard, but all will be ok. I'm sure of that.

I'm glad that you liked this track. Even with the disaster on EQ and the stuff that I didn't understand to asidRn, I'm happy that this melody have made you feel better.

Well, the first idea was to make a sad song, and I almost call this song "gloomy Christmas" or something dark. I'm glad have changed of mind.

If you want to thank someone, do it to Xyilent. Without his loop, I hadn't known how to start or what to do.

Well, all will be alright. Have faith.

    Merry Christmas from Ecuador.

your mixing issues aren't all that bad at all. the biggest one of concern, really, is muddiness due to a lack of eq'ing. i find muddiness, in my experience, comes from buildup in the 200-500hz range. id cut out UNWANTED (emphasis on the word unwanted) frequencies there for certain instruments only (drums are your first priority here).

also, sidechaining your synths and stuff to your drums at a ratio no higher than 1:4-1:5 would allow the drums to "cut through" a little more (i don't think I'm using the right expression there LOL).

this is a VERY good track otherwise. probably the best one I've heard on Looperman in a long time. Unique for sure. keep it up!

Sorry, I know nothing about music theory and music engineery, so I understand NOTHING (emphasis on the word nothing) of your technical words.

Thanks for listening and merry xmas.

Description : inspired by art of Susana Boettner which reminds me of the three kings story of this time of year. three motives in the track vaguely allude to three characters, sometimes in monologue, sometimes dialogue. http://www.susanaboettner.com/losvisitantes/05.jpg

Genre is always tricky and I don't know genres very well so I usually go with weird. But I think I write in an orchestral style, albeit I have mostly abandoned traditional orchestral instruments.

The track is loosely cinematic, insofar as it describes a journey, with mystery, adventure, celebration along the way.
