Description : my latest creation ... hope you like it!! it's a smooth midtempo funk track, dominated by guitars (of course!), piano and a bright simple bassline .... it turned out pretty well I think, the most interesting part for me was a change of the mood in the middle of the track where I went from minor to major scales, I liked that idea .... so: tell me what you think about this little piece .... ;-) have fun! .... peace, rei

Another Master's class in musicianship, production, arranging and composing.....which is why you are one of the most respected people on this site. This is marvelous work.
You always set the bar so high with your work and this song is no exception. Amazing and I wish I could find the favorite button :)
This track has all the right elements in all the right places, which I come to expect from you my friend. It's like sequels to a movie and they keep getting better.
Your style is very unique and I love that I can recognize your sound and that's not a bad thing...don't we all recognize our heroes?:)
The change in the song was at the right time and I do love that jazzy funk combo that you do so well as when you do a rock song..you "get it" Rei!
rerum natura is my favorite track from this site...hands down rock with a twist of funk at its finest!
Your latest track is original, unique and wonderfully familiar.
Well, this song is the latest one you have here. I liked the overall sound and the song itself. The Bass did sound very nice, and was more out in front on my speaker setup.
You did a great on this song and I did like the changes you made in the middle. Just makes a song more interesting when something different is done, rather than listening to the same all the time.
One of my friends complained that I put breaks in my songs....but I tell them that's what breaks it up...more variety.
Anyways, I like what you did here and all your songs are well done.
I'll be posting a classic rock type of song in a few days that I had done...but couldn't post it here till the site was back up.
Give it a listen if you get a chance. Would like your input on it.
Thanks.
Randy
hi Randall!!
it's great that you like those changes ... and I totally agree with you regarding breaks and changes!
I always compare songwriting with a journey ... on a highway you're maybe fast, but the real interesting roads are the small ones where's a new surprise behind every corner ... you know?
thx for your kind words, and I'm looking forward to listen to your new rock track!!!!
hey, thx for stepping by and listening!!
delay is a very important part of my guitar sound in many songs ... especially for jazzy or ambient and chill out tunes ... I simply love it!!
peace, rei
This is good listening music Rei...nice guitar tone & I really enjoy tracks where the bass is part of the action....I know you are mainly into guitar (like myself) but must say I really like that straight up funky drum kit going on here....well done....Ed
thank you!!!
I do think that a good song has to stand on solid ground, so the bass and the drums should have a very important function for the songwriting. some guitar players forget that from time to time ... great that you notice that!!
peace, rei
Magical in your own style. It's a very nice composition and production. It's been a while since I listen to your tunes and returning to one of your tracks, I'm amazed. I love the sustained sound of your guitar. Very slick and very beautifully played. A fav and DL.
This is some fine work here my friend. I really enjoyed this track. It's Funk Jazz and something else that make's you just want to lay back and tap your feet. It's relaxing with a groove. You've done it again. Great Track man.
Attractive and wonderful rhythms. The track has left me nailed to my seat. Wonderful mix, with a perfect finish to the sound that makes the track, not only staggering, but also excellent.
You nailed it on the mix, sounds amazing through my speakers. You really are getting a great sound, the guitars sound so full and the tone is so sweet and smooth. The bass sounds great, still having a tough time myself recording my bass but you got a nice punchy but beefy sound. You mic an amp or go straight in when you record the bass?
thx a lot Wayne!!
the bass though is no real bass, it's a pretty simple bass synth through a series of compressors and limiters and a virtual tube amp ... but I think the most important thing is that I only use mono tracks for the bass, that makes it sound pretty powerful, most big pa's run the bass in mono!!
thx for taking the time to listen ... ;-)
peace, rei
many thx man!!
just listened to a few of your tracks ... and: WOW!
atm I'm pretty busy, but if I have an idea where I think you probably have "something to say to" I will contact you ... is that ok?
peace, rei
Hey Buddy....Great sound straight off the bat Rei!...superbly balanced sound....your guitar riffs are just magically floating underneath that strong bass line, interspersed with harmonically rich keyboard fills..I think this is the perfect mixing template and very reminiscent of Bilbozo's production skills..there's a real frequency continuity..it has....Pizazz!..a life of it's own...excellent track man, totally together and not surprisingly..your one of my favourite muso's!..cheers Dave :)
oh, another great review from a great man!!!
how's life in Australia atm? I don't hear any good news from that part of the world, hurricanes and earthquakes and all that ... does Fukushima have any affect on Australia yet?
Description : 'Love will find you at the right time'...This track is about how we vibrationally attract love. From my recollection, in the early 20s/teen years, a typical place to encounter this wonderful force was the Disco. (Kay)
'I always wanted to produce a funk and soul song, as I love the rhythms and vibe. I hope you like my first attempt at this. Many thanks to Darren Hirst for his great bassline' - Oli.

Description : This is another Jazz/Funk composition. My brother on the Loop, BaoBou was kind enough to grace this track with his fire on guitar. Also, as a result of his contribution, I got inspired and added even more funk into the mix. Enjoy.
Description : This is kinda like a funky electro acoustic type thing. Definitely our funkiest piece yet, trying to explore a few different genres here, hopefully you enjoy it! :)
Description : Another one of the older tracks I'm gradually pulling out of storage to rework. For this little funk thing, I played a new bass, added some extra sounds, and remixed and remastered the whole thing. I hope you enjoy it.

Description : It a funky tune and its purpose is to make you move your heads and your bodies to the rhythm. Made with Steinberg's free Sequel 3. I really hope you will enjoy it.
You can view the video on my YouTube channel.
Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : A Dark Funk tune , with a touch of Nawlin's jazz funeral procession. Midi-sparks asked me to do a Halloween song for his competition, and so here it is!
