If you have time take a listen and give Micky some feedback.
wow......ok well...had to be said...this is just what the doctor ordered....you really have carved out your own little niche here on lm.....a standout track.....and yes a perfect mix
Your mixes have that super bright, 80s shimmer. Are you singing the harmonies, pitch manipulating, or both?
I like the hiss in the snare, like pressure released. Nice synth choice, bass line, and funky guitar licks. Tim Henson would call those "boomer bends" :P
Wow Micky, love the funk, nice to see you around again, hope your well. The whole structure arrangement are spot on love the beat the closed hat and smashes, the rythme is there to get you moving and the vox are great so well placed, this is an old track from you, but my first listen so it's new fresh AF my mate
Impresionante pista amigo Micky, muy bien estructurada, con un ritmo poderoso y muy trabajado. las guitarras son fuego puro, y la voz de autentico lujo. Un éxito total. Gracias por la descarga. Que tengas un buen día compañero. Paz y salud.
Doc, YOU DA MAN. I like this so much I have to download. Very well put together. Vocal concept on the money. Great Sound and production. PEACE. T576 OUT.
I'll keep my radar watching.
PS: I was wrong saying this was my first comment in capital letters - djphildrummin did it too, got to be fair ;o)
Cheers,
Michael
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! LOL THIS IS MORE THEN BRILLIANT. I WOULD BUY THIS GROOVY BEAT ALRIGHT. THANK U DO MUCH FOR ALLOWING DOWNLOADS. SO MUCH PUT IN THIS BUT FLOWS PERFECTLY! HATS OFF, IM INSPIRED!
It's funny you're asking because actually the original intro I had before didn't work quite well and so I just skipped it and started with what was supposed to be the first verse part. Of course I placed that tape drag at start.
Thanks for listening,
Michael
Haha, Doc is cool. But I am not really sure if I have the official license. But you know what they say - "He who heals is right" so I think it's o.k.
Thank you for listening and commenting, always appreciated.
Michael
No my toe still hurts like fk, however this took my mind of it for 3 mins 46 seconds so thanks for that, funky in the extreme. Are these your vocals?? and what did you play? Whatever you did please keep doing it!
Thank you for sharing your reactions ... so the medicine worked ;–)
I played all guitars, bass synth by hand, added bass slaps on real bass, keyboards by hand (nothing quantised) and vocals are me, myself and I (pitched down a little). And that's the way, aha, aha, I like it ....
I recognized that we have te same claim in our profile: groove is in the heart. synchronicity, man.
Best regards,
Michael
This is a medicine to be taken several times a day. Truly thaumaturgical music for body and mind. What I find unique in your tracks is your ability to perfectly blend a Central European sensitivity for cleanliness and clarity of sound with exquisitely Anglo-Saxon suggestions, in a synthesis that is at the same time very original and very pleasant to listen to. The mix is full-bodied, rich but also clear and defined.
Best wishes
Marco
Hola Singlot, muchas gracias!!!
I am actually considering doing some (nearly) accapella. But more in the sense of a song, that's very reduced instrumentally where the vocals take the major part. Probably at least accompanied by drums and bass. But I must say I'd really prefer doing vocals to a certain track rather than having it extractet and planted into something that is far away from the original intention. If you like you can provide a track that you want me to sing on and I'll try and do my best. But I won't give you a guarantee that it will match your expectations - I really am a lousy singer, at least compared to all the other talented artists around here.
Stay safe stay creative,
Michael
I can't believe you deleted my track because in your words it was too deep .... whilst praising you as being able to reach the stars ..... I think with Jamid sending nasty messages around to people and those people acting on that gossip from a shit who tried to post other peoples music as his own .....and now this .... it has to be goodbye.
You must definetely be confusing me with somebody else! How and why should I ever delete anything here? And all I do here is defenitely my own work - most of it played by hand and absolutely original.
So please take a second and think it over.
Regards,
Michael
This has fantastic energy!! Like Sly and the Family Stone. I love Sly Stone. This is the best track I've heard on this site in ages!! Ticker Tape Parade for this.
My gosh, no, no I am not worthy of this comparison. Nevertheless YOU KNOW that's music to my ears ... ;-)
Thank you very, very much,
High regards,
Michael
Hallo, Gruezi, Bonjour, thank you for those two uplifting words. I see you play instruments - never thought of uploading some work here?
Viele Grüsse und au revoir,
Michael
Yes, it's me singing, or should I say my alter ego, the doctor ;-) ... I like to pitch my voice in any direction, just for the fun of it.
My regards to the queen ...
Now I'm all Funked up... TAPE DRAG...I've been dying to use the "tape drag"... Damn this track is Hot! Excellent composition and flawless execution. I especially like the Guitar, in fact it's solos were absolutely perfect. Where do you go from here? Do you promise to Funk???
“Funk 'em, just to see the look on their face.” LOL
Excellent track.
Well, I told you about that funk mojo I received from Eddie Hazel ... You better believe that was no joke! ;-)
If Sir Nose had already felt safe - he shouldn't: the trauma isn't over yet - we're close on his heels!!! Ha!
Preparing our collab track now and I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks for the comment.
Cheers,
Michael
WOOO!! oh my what a beat!...Hi Doc, you are absolutely on fireeeee! here. Ok let calm down, this is super fly! super cool! super sweeet! and my kind of music MMMMM! this is truly delicious!...TOP! production work here and a fave from me, yes siree.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your comment and I am very happy to see, that I am not too far back in the 70s to get any attention. I am actually struggeling a bit with all the musical possibilities and directions and then my funk roots always seem to be a safe bank. Your reviews always have a strong uplifting effect on me - stronger than my morning coffee ... ;o)
Love and peace,
Michael
Neat track Doc, the vox surprised me, a lower ranged male voice wasn't what I was expecting but it works fine. I like the intro. Plenty of cool bits, synths, percussion and the gits are well played.
Makes me feel like I'm back in the 70's. To me it sounds like a song that should be in one of the Rocky movies or a film from that time period.
The Doctor is IN! :) Funky track you got here Doc! My only suggestion/opinion is those horn stabs at 53 sec. (and elsewhere) sound too harsh or like they don't quite fit. Just my 2 cents. Great job! Thanks for sharing.
Description : This is kinda like a funky electro acoustic type thing. Definitely our funkiest piece yet, trying to explore a few different genres here, hopefully you enjoy it! :)

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).
Micky: concept / arrangement / guitars / synths / fx / vocals / mix / mastering
Jynxz: synths / bass / rhodes / clavinet
Description : Everything is recorded live, so you probably hear that. It's also all me :$
Thanks to everyone who contributed in explaining what I did wrong in the engineering, mixing and mastering, especially Ben (bringerofDOOM). Looperman is truly an awesome community and thank you all. Did I say you guys are awesome?
