Hell yeah its funky!! Love it, Love it, Love it! The groove is sweet and the vocals are even sweeter. The only thing I would change is sometimes the vocals come in too loud, like they aren't blended in with the track like @ 1:32. For example the Oh! and the Oooooh! from @0:05-0:08 seconds are a little quieter and blend perfectly with the instruments, but the Ayahhh @ 1:32 is too loud and seems separate from the music. Maybe quiet the vocal down a bit, and add more reverb? It sounds too up front, and needs to be pushed into the background a little more.

Hi there. I was wondering if I could use this song as the intro music to a webseries I am making. I'd give you full credit for it too. Just let me know!

Carrol replied 2nd May 2015 - 11 years ago

Hi yes you can use it, can you send me the link to your web series so I can see what you've done with it when you' re finished.

Musicante 2nd Jan 2015 17:19 - 11 years ago

Cool retro-funk vibe you have going on here, Carrol...Good job!

Ciao,

Thanks glad you enjoyed it.

Honestly not a big fan of funk myself, but i can recognize a good quality song when I hear one. Superb vocals interjected in the groove that fit perfectly with the whole feel of the song, very soulful. Great work!

Hi have you converted to funk yet haha, thanks for your comments.

BigPete 1st Jan 2015 15:48 - 11 years ago

Love the funk, great vibe, right on brother get your groove on and boggie on down the road, you had me back in the 70s big time, great work.

Carrol replied 2nd May 2015 - 11 years ago

Ha ha yes I love music from the 70's so much funk around that time.

FreeRadical 1st Jan 2015 15:34 - 11 years ago

This revised version is sounding slick. The funk is on fire and I like what you've done with the panning and vocals. This is nice and easy on my hangover as well which is a bonus.
I'm really glad I dropped by now.

promenade2239 14th Dec 2014 09:13 - 11 years ago

hi, I really like this. My only criticism would be that there's some slight volume changes at parts in the mix. Maybe it's just a result of how you combined those loops. Or maybe it's just me.
I really enjoyed the vocals in the background.
Good funky vibes with some very interesting ambiance. Well done. Alex

Carrol replied 2nd May 2015 - 11 years ago

Hi yes the levels aren't right, I'm new to this thanks for your comments.

DesignedImpression 14th Dec 2014 03:34 - 11 years ago

Yup thats funky.. Nice! Wah wowa. Noticed I listened back a couple times when it hits 0:50 the volume decreases a bit too much, gets lost after that very nice beginning.

As it continues I can hear the mix sounds off balance, example the vocals are at a good level the music is too low (unless that is your intention) the levels just make me feel like im missing out on the funk everyone is jammin too.

With that aside, a good re work of this idea mix. Keep at it and thank you for sharing. Peace.

Carrol replied 2nd May 2015 - 11 years ago

Hi, I'm new to composing I agree the levels are a bit off, I need much more practice but having a bit of fun in the way, thanks for your comments .

kdlucas 10th Dec 2014 22:21 - 11 years ago

This is a nice tight composition, and loved the organ mix. Very nice piece and hope you continue to compose and write stuff in this genre.

Carrol replied 2nd May 2015 - 11 years ago

Hi, I'd like to do some more composing this year thanks for your comments.

Tumbleweed 8th Dec 2014 17:44 - 11 years ago

classic good funk Carrol....enjoyed this one big time...have to agree with Eric...like the vocal bits you have here but you could really nail a funky vocal for this one...way to go....Ed

Carrol replied 2nd May 2015 - 11 years ago

Hi thanks Tumbleweed, I'd like to do some more music this year.

EricMilligan 6th Dec 2014 02:41 - 11 years ago

Well, Carrol! That is a great track. Very funky indeed! Like some of the others who have commented, I would really like to hear you do a complete vocal on something like this. You have an excellent voice. Just checked out your acapellas. We need to see/hear more of you here on Looperman.

Carrol replied 8th Dec 2014 - 11 years ago

Hi Eric, thank you, yes I do love the funk music, I hope to get back on here soon and upload the new software I've had sitting around for nearly a year!

Twanna1 4th Oct 2013 16:15 - 13 years ago

Carrol...Carrol...Carrol...

This is very funky, but I found myself longing to hear you belt out a silky vocal. From what I can hear in your music, you have an extraordinary voice. Would love you hear you do a full vocal. I know from what I can hear in the clips you embed in your compositions, your voice will be a total experience.

Great job though:)

Carrol replied 23rd Nov 2013 - 12 years ago

I think I thanked you for your lovely comments, I would like to do a full track but have only come up with short acapellas at the moment. It's certainly an honor to have someone so talented as yourself say such nice things.

ScottB55 19th Jul 2013 23:03 - 13 years ago

Interesting and cool track, Carol. Keep the funk going.

Cheers,
Scott

Carrol replied 20th Jul 2013 - 13 years ago

Hi Scott, I see you have great taste in music from what's on your profile! I will try and keep the funk going ha ha! Well I've got a lot to learn about mixing music and have a pretty limited range of loops and stuff I probably need to buy some.
Thanks again, Regards Carrol

StrikingDaggers 17th Jul 2013 03:53 - 13 years ago

Great track Carrol! Funky to the max. I liked what you did with the vocals. The production sound good too. Nice work.

Now this is funky!
Love everything! Special mention: the funky clav riff that goes through all the song, the guitars, sparse but very effective, the wise usage of vocals.
Good!
Domenico

PS: please don't tell me that the funky week is over... I want more of these!

Carrol replied 13th Jul 2013 - 13 years ago

Hi Mr Wolfe how are you, glad you are enjoying the track I don't usually play with the music side of things but it was fun making this, ha ha well maybe we should make it the funk month then!!! My loop range is pretty limited and I'm not professional so I don't know what I can come up with but I'll start working on something.

crucethus 11th Jul 2013 00:49 - 13 years ago

When I heard this acapella by ALAA EZZEDDINE I was really impressed. Ok, did lots of tweaking to make it sound properly and fit in the track. Actually his lyrics described what I have had gone through...
Enjoy and take care :) :) :)
