Definitely! I've been on a bit of a break from recording, trying to wrap up a few guitars by request but I'm overdue to do something. Let me know when you have a bit of time, I can make time to get music done when I'm not hanging out in cemetaries ;)

I love the series on you tube 'Life after humans' It shows how mother nature will retake whats rightfully hers when we're gone. Dan Akroyd had a cool theory on ufos. He thinks they may be coming here to study the effects we're having on the planet and atmosphere so they can learn not to make the same mistakes, possibly even healing the damage we've caused. Very well done Jamid, I like the bass part, it's like the destruction taking place while the lead melodies represent the sadness.

on I fear the nighttime by richatc
I Love the night, my absolute favorite time!! This is really good, thinking of Dokken and bands of that era. If I could sing like that, I'd do it all the time! *Holds up lighter* Love the children's choir, very nice touch. Lost boys was a great movie! I need to watch that again, been a while. People are strange when you're a stranger.....

on Legacy by Billydragon1
Now rain drops come in all different sizes, so what size are we talking about here? ;) I remember Casey Kasem on the radio growing up, reconized his voice immediately! Life is but a blink of an eye and we are immortalized through our actions and what we leave behind when our time is up. When your time comes will you be able to say I tried my best? Very motivational speech Billy, we sure could use more like this! :D
Billydragon1
Billydragon1 replied 10th Apr 2016 - 9 years ago
Is there such a thing as an average size raindrop? Probably the size of a teardrop :)

Yes Kasey Kasem introduced me a lot to the American Top 40's in my childhood. Oh such good music that is missing from todays music.

Indeed life is like a blink of an eye. 10 years will pass just like that. What we are worried about may never come. Some people say that a house, a car(material things) are our greatest asset, but to a wise man, time is the greatest.

Always do your best Burt. Even in the smallest of things, as hidden cameras are watching. You may be destined for something greater than where you are now. Do your best brother in this life, and that is all we can do!

Stay strong brother. Blessings - Billy.

Fk yeah! \m/ \m/ Exactly the type of metal I love! slow, dark, doomy and groovy. I did a cinematic one called Alone in the dark based on a true story of a young girl being immured in a crypt. More please! \m/ \m/

on In The Grip Of Himalaya by Orlando51
Thank you for the dl :p reality sucks, music like this is a great escape. 5 nights a week I work alone at night in the silence of commercial office buildings, banks and stuff, so I love to load up my mp3 player with music from here. There's nothing worse than that silence!! You definitely captured the majestic feeling of the Himalayas. Did I just hear a monk throat singing or was that you? I hope it was a monk so there's a monastery nearby where I'll be safe from the Yetis! I saw what they did to those people at Dylatov pass. I looked up a pic of the Himalaya to look at while this plays and felt like I was part of the climbing party scanning the the landscape. Yep, had to come back for seconds.
Orlando51
Orlando51 replied 6th Apr 2016 - 9 years ago
Nice to see someone coming back for the second comment, I truly appreciate that..:)
Yes, my friend...that was definitely a monk...Haven't I told you that I won't sing (growl) anymore...haha! The only problem you have here is that you'll have to climb far down
to safely reach the monastery, so meeting the Yeti wouldn't be such a bad option compared to this and they also say that Yetis are much more cultivated and subdued to political correctness these days...haha...so you might have clear chances by meeting one...:)

Many thanks and appreciation for this friendly revisit!

Cheers_____Orlando

What the hell is going on in that marshland, Is that screaming or a creature? Sounds like someone is being eaten alive by wild animals after being tied to a tree or scaphism (they did that in the middle ages)! This is awesome Dan! Does this marsh happen to be anywhere near the cemetary we did one about? The peepers were out the other night, I almost recorded them. I'll get them this summer.

Thanks so much Burt! I rely on you for my horror education. My samples just naturally sound horrific, but in this case there was no intentional connection with swamp-based torture scenes. I had one bug sample left over after this venture, which I have applied to a new track. Then I'm done with bug samples for a while.

I got my violin bridges the other day, still waiting on tuners, kind of at a stand still until those arrive along with the weather sucking lately! (I have to cut and sand outside) I'm going to build a 4 string guitar cello, I guess you call it hahaha It'll be the 4 low strings from a guitar set at an arch like a cello and played with a bow, that should make some nice gloomy music :p After we use up all 9 lives do we get 9 more? That's great people feel better after this doom and gloom! I've got to do some funeral doom with a cbg. I'll send more your way soon, got to keep Beyond the Sky album growing.

Makes me think of this insanity ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MqPkWZxmMQ I listened to Rats in the walls last night, reminded me of my track Lost in the City of Souls. I'd love to make one for the Judges house https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nknKi-wADq4 After watching your video I want to try playing my bass with a mallet, gently of course. Would that be considered slap bass? :p Interesting way to bow your guitar, I tried my cookie tin one that way, my 6 strings seem a bit large for that method.
Tinka0
Tinka0 replied 31st Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
Oh I may have to hack that movie apart for the next music video, thank you :)

I'm looking forward to the Rats in the wall track.. I've got some great ideas for samples. I'm yet to read The Judges House, added to the list.. I'll be looking out for that track.

Try it dude! I'd call it hammer bass XD

The sounds I got off of bowing are incredible.. Much room for evolving the sounds... It was difficult with the size, but doable.

These ambient electronic songs make me feel like I'm floating weightlessly in space. Funny thing is they say there's no sound in space because sound is the compression and release of pressure waves of air. With no air there's no sound. Aren't new toys fun to experiment with :p
promenade2239
promenade2239 replied 29th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
thanks for listening and your comment. Yes, there is just emptiness and all cosmic-sounding space-electronic-ambient music is just a imaginary projection - it's just the mind perspective. I am not afraid of experiencing the emptiness directly though - just relax and focus on the space when the thought is absent and there is no mind for a moment.
And yes, I like working with the hardware synths much more - it seems like there are the infinite possibilities for creating here. Depending on the actual contition of the mind, of course.

You're getting really good at these arrangements! Love what you've done. You're voice sounds so sinister on some of these. We need our own poster like this ;) https://www.cbgitty.com/gift-ideas/razzy-daddy-spasm-band-historic-themed-12x18-poster/ I want to eventually record one with all different cbgs being used, bass build in the plans too, ordered the tuning keys and have the neck wood set aside. on Midnight Sun by StaticNomad
oh yeah, Sabbath immediately came to mind and fav'd instantly. Was this recorded when you decided to make a guest appearance at their farewell tour? Listened last night quietly, wife already screamed at me this week for playing music too loud late at night, so had to come back for seconds, and thirds and... when I can play it LOUD! I think the title describes it well.
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 25th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
Word up, Mr 4Fat.

This is right up your metallic street. You'd probably prefer it darker and weirder but I generally try to add more beauty than weirdness though it can be great to combine them.

"when I can play it LOUD!"

Do that right now. You need to for this track.

"wife already screamed at me this week for playing music too loud late at night"

I suggest either headphones or you could make your wife go out with some friends till the early hours. That leaves you with Midnight Sun playing on repeat.

"Was this recorded when you decided to make a guest appearance at their farewell tour?"

A little bit before but I never ended up making that appearance. The Sabbath boys heard some of my heavy music and wanted to book the band that made it to open for them on that tour. They were a bit surprised when they found out that it's all made by one guy at home who doesn't have a band to perform the material live.

So, they offered to be my backing band and we did a few rehearsals (no Ozzy) but it was taking up too much of their time so we quit. Instead, they just warm up the crowd at their gigs by playing some of my best heavy tracks over the PA. Tracks like:

The Bigger The Fatter The Better
http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/155188

Valvedriven
http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/163181

Chasm
http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/172322

Debt Black Hole
http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/146806

Roar Stone
http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/171907

Not sure if you've heard all those tracks so give some a go. Loud!

Take care.

Yaay! Another Cat \(^._.^) Wasn't it you that did a song for the LZA sometimes they come back, well.... Then I shot you when you turned hahaha. So many tracks could be linked together in a huge story from these stories. We need a good video maker to make us a movie. I think I shared the Bayou Blues stems with you, and have more blues in various stages as well as more coming almost daily, I'll share too. Google translate sucks, I couldn't write a description in another language if one of my 9 lives depended on it. I think Brado's description nailed it with the dreamy surreal feeling. It's kind of like seeing the world from the other side of the veil. You should've hunted down the devil and stole his fiddle made of gold! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6RUg-NkjY4 Always a pleasure Joe. Dan asked for a country type tune, that's how this came about. I still want to try photo shopping those braids onto him LOL!LOL!! Hoping to make my own violin/fiddle soon. Looked up rosin for the bow string, very cheap, as well as the materials I can't scavenge. I just need to select a box.
joecramer
joecramer replied 22nd Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
You know that i already made this "head movie" for the LZA.
Maybe we should start a new "movie" about dark and deadly things ..... and you are right, a videomaker would be a cool thing.

I still love the blues and will soon start working on something. Lets see what you have for me.

I dont know why but i am sure that playing Violine will not be that easy then playing a cbg ..... but blame me and show me what kind of cool Violine player you are :)
Dan will looking awesome with that braids
Our Burt and Joe behind the sky album get filled up with lot of different things man. I really enjoy this collabs with you

BTW i had this golden Violine already in my hands but it is much to heavy to handle it in a good way. So i gave it back and got a new handfull of lifes for it ..... :)

on Raw Sessions - Its Beautiful by BradoSanz
Raw, live recordings have a beauty that can't be matched by some so perfectly done with all the digital toys at our disposal now a days. It captures something special, a singer songwriter at their most vulnerable. Very nice Brado. I've been using Reaper over 2 years now and love it for recording live played instruments. It's good to get back to our roots and take a break sometimes from all the digital techniques so widely used now. Not bad for a laptop mic recording. I use my phone's voice recorder when at work to make voice or vocal samples. Piezo pickup (contact mics) for my cbgs since I don't have a very good enviroment for mic recordings.
