Yo again.

"I love the fact that you do rolling comments like me.. "

I'm not totally sure what you mean by that. Maybe that I comment on different aspects of the track in chronological order? Sure, if I like something, I got through it and point out what I can actually hear and make suggestions or criticisms or ask questions or whatever.

Most people on the site are content with variations of "Nice track, bro" for their whole track comment, as if that's in any way interesting or helpful. So damn lazy and uninteresting.

"No pedal, just a whammy bar"

Yeah, I should have guessed that. I think I was thinking of the related pedal that gives you some good screams that I think Tom Morello might use. Probably a whammy pedal. I've never used a whammy bar but would like to. Would really suit what I'd like to do in terms of heavy playing if I got decent at it. I love bends and vibrato so pitch bend by other means would really suit me.

And now I know how you got those mega detuned bits in the weird intro. That's great and almost sounds like you're detuning with the tuning heads.

"Before you do, I think I have the files on an old hard drive, let me clean it up a bit"

Not sure what you mean. I wasn't suggesting I add anything to the track or do anything at all with it apart from listen to it. I did send a message and link to a few Facebook friends telling them they're gonna love it. Just a single one sentence response so far. I'll tell some more Looperman people about it soon.

"you're giving me the urge to dust off my guitar."

You really should. You're a much better heavier player than I am.

I will eventually get round to commenting on many more of your tracks as they're really very good. Again: you're my best new discovery on Looperman in ages.

Take care.

I get 67 bpm in C# minor sound right? I'll know better shortly too, that's just running it through Melodyne.

Unsure, I imagine it would have been 120 or 155.. But as you can tell from this intro my timing isn't... usual?

Yaay! Work, work, work, pay taxes, pay bills be broke, work more, repeat :/ fkn money! I should be able to figure out a lot of it by ear, do you the key its in? basic tab is good if not, I don't all the little riffs for bass. It's all your fault, well partially, that I made a Yog Sothoth song! I'm going to throw this in my DAW now and jam on it with my bass a bit :D

fk yeah! Static Nomad nailed it hahaha \m/ Still looking for a bassist (I know this is 2 years old!)? I play a bass, time may a bit of an issue lately, but may be able record a bit occasionally.

Fuck yes I'm up for that.. Time is a bitch for me too (damn the need of money) when I get a free afternoon, I'll tab out the guitar to give you the basics... I may have to get my vocals on this :D Excited.

Oh fucking yes!

Crazy, weird doom intro with lots of odd details and mega detuned stuff and weird scratching.

And then....

The most mothafuckin' badass, ripping, life-affirming riff I've heard in ages.

0:30 massive fat drums.

0:46 wish I could do those mental high screams. Low chugging is also fucking cool. I love that simple kind of thing. Killer dirty metal tone.

1:44 why not do a bit more on guitar - just because you can.

1:57 such a cool held note. Maybe using a pedal in there for that particular tone.

2:16 awesome distant, screaming, reverbed highs. Nice to get some distant reverb in there as the guitar previously has been quite close and dry.

This is really inspiring stuff and I wish I were this good. Only complaint is the rushed, abrupt end.

I'm adding this to my thread

https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/182742/what-are-your-favourite-tracks-on-looperman

as it's so damn good. Might get this mighty track a bit more exposure.

You should add some tracks to that thread as well.

Massive congrats.

Man I love the fact that you do rolling comments like me.. More people should do that :)

Those metal screams are chugging whilst holding your fingers above the 3rd frets (all strings) with a little whammy bar work simultaneously.

No pedal, just a whammy bar and the power of a Seymour Duncan pick-up.. It was all done in a few hours, I made it for an audition (hence the dry verse riff, had to give the vocalist some room).

Before you do, I think I have the files on an old hard drive, let me clean it up a bit.. Maybe add some bass from Mr.Phatz.. I'd really appreciate that, I have such a hard time "promoting" it feels dirty XD

I'd love to but sadly I'm not allowed to post in the forums.

Thank you again for the kind words dude, you're giving me the urge to dust off my guitar.

This is cool! Some killer riffs you've played! It definitely has a lot of potential! I would offer up vocals, but I was growling and stuff so much on my latest collab, that I pretty much lost my voice for days. I dig what you're doing here!

Description : I asked Danke if I could add some vocals to his track Future Machine and he kindly agreed and sent me the track. The lyrics are about a soldiers experience in war as he and his trench mates are told to get up and out of their trench and attack the enemy across open fields. I can only imagine the fear, tension and chaos that goes through one's mind at that moment.

Description : I discovered Meshuggah around 2003 and was blown away by the power, complexity and super Heavy sound of their music. Their "Nothing" album marked the switch to 8 string guitars and pushed Heavy Metal into a whole new territory. My track is a variant cover of their song "Nebulous". I have stayed pretty close to the original but added a few dynamic elements of my own. Its loud, its super heavy and way out there...Beyond Nebulous.

Description : This unconventional metal track is dedicated to Valvedriver https://www.looperman.com/users/profile/841435 though it's not a parody of his fine music or me actively trying to sound like it. I struggled for months with the first few minutes of this track knowing that I must be able to take it somewhere deeper, more psychedelic and powerful. Then I loaded some sampled choir voice instruments, as used in my track Reckful https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/160356 and suddenly found myself happily in Valveland - not a place I visit often. Feeling amply Valvedriven and newly inspired, I added the last few minutes fairly easily and very quickly. So: it's a twisting, turning mixture of grunge, menacing ambient, mystical metal and ultra-heavy funk. Instruments: electric guitar+bass, synth basses, female choir voices, one synth pad, some other synths on the nastier side of things and a few programmed heavy acoustic drumkits playing a mixture of triplets and straighter grooves. Interesting thoughts appreciated. Favourite bits? Shit bits? Please listen on good headphones/speakers as there's a lot of heavy bass in this. Now get ready to rock: balls out, hands in the air and with rebellious joy in your heart. Just try not to headbang the hell out of your laptop. Go!
