Hey Pat I worded that backwards oops!! Genius is often mistaken for insanity. Nice to hear such original music.

Respect for your observational intelligence, it is not a common thing these days. I did notice it, but really it works both ways in my case, ha ha! I will respond further and find your new works as soon as possible. Have a good day!

Sweet bass Spiv! What can I say, Spivkurl's unique style, always a pleasure Pat :D You know, insanity is often mistaken for Genius! ;)

I think the "insanity/genius" fluke works both ways. In recent reading of my medical records, my psychiatrist described me as having average intelligence... at first, I was a bit offended. After some thought, I found hope in that he may be correct. After all, I've done some really stupid shit in my life, and I hope that there are many many people who are more intelligent than me... it may mean that there is real hope for the world. Then there are all of those head injuries... I can't really expect to be a genius will a mushy brain! I can however take comfort in the strength of my insanity. Fear seems to be the driving force behind many people's actions, and I seem to scare them without any intent or effort on my part... so this theoretically gives me power, right? Thanks for taking a listen to this one!

on MADCAT - Cry Out -Halloween Special- by RagingKitten
I like the beeping, it's like a heart monitor as I lay near death in a hospital bed with the whispery voices of the surrounding spirits shrouded in the gloom beckoning me to join them beyond the veil. Cool track MadCat, you did well. Happy Halloween! (^._.^)/

I know all about being busy!!! Damn need to work. Ok you got me at dark, off to listen right after I swallow some scrap metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kplng91_Bjo

on NARCOS by Planetjazzbass
Once you understand them building guitars is quite simple. I still need to build my cbg bass and violin though :p I love watching border wars, and stuff on you tube about the mexican drug cartels, very fitting tune. Never seen narcos but looking it up after this.
Planetjazzbass
Planetjazzbass replied 9th Oct 2016 - 9 years ago
Hey mate, you'll really dig Narcos then, mind you there's plenty of gratuitous violence however the production, acting and continuity are excellent. cheers mate Dave ps. How about a tea chest bass instead of a cbg bass?

on Final end Credits by SonnyChapelle
Like the atmosphere, nice and dark just how i like my music. Reminds me of 'The Church' They massacre a bunch of possessed people, bury them and build a church on top of the grave but the evil still lurks in the depths below and eventually is released. There's an archeological site in Ireland they dug up skeletons, the deviant burials or vampire skeletons, where the corpses were very abused in a clear attempt to keep them in the graves, then a palace or church was built on top of their remains.

Is it necrophilia if they're still moving though?
crucethus

If your the one moving them, then I would have to say...mmmmn yes! If they are moving because the groove is so powerful it transcends death, then I hereby charge you with Funkophillia. Your sentence is to resurrect the Zap band featuring Roger Troutman

I hope you weren't drinking that mexican water as a chaser, I hear that's some nasty stuff! I was given a classical acoustic guitar a few weeks ago, strung it up with new nylon strings, very VERY spanish sounding. I had a teacher in school that played classical guitar, love the sound of it soloed like you've done here. Uh oh, I see El Muerto!

I picture an undead disco taking place around a bonfire complete with disco balls, flashing lights and alot of zombies grooving out. 'All Hallows Funk 2016' :p Is that Donna Summers I see getting down? I love hearing the different genres with halloween themes. Now I want to see what pic this gets paired with! Very cool!

Voodoo Disco´s are where it´s at my friend.
Donna summer who passed in 2012 would be prime fodder for that ghoulish vibe you dreamed about you sick bastard. I think you´ve been hittin on the dead. You are formally charged with one count of necrophilia in the funkiest degree!

on Whole Tone Haunt by DanGoldstein
I like this version. I have some samples from a few movies that will work well setting the seance scene nicely. Is that knocking on the table I hear? I wonder if this medium is one that produces the ectoplasm snot stuff ;)
DanGoldstein
DanGoldstein replied 6th Oct 2016 - 9 years ago
I'm happy if you can layer on this, Burt. I think the harp solo section near the beginning is a likely area for the medium's entrance. The entire end section is really just groove and could receive any number of effects or even a slide solo. If you want threads, or just a wave of the entire mix, I will put in dropbox.

on Standhaft bleiben - electro version by joecramer
Very cool Joe. I love the minimalistic approach. Nice and dark, perfect for halloween 3:D> Some of the darkest music is very minimal, just enough to set the atmosphere. We'll do more shortly, seems like since July I haven't had any free time for music, covering my new bosses shifts, the slacker! Finally got a full sized acoustic guitar itching to be recorded and those 2 Altoid tin guitars needing recording, one's electric. :p Yaayy a new song to add to my player.
joecramer
joecramer replied 30th Sep 2016 - 9 years ago
Nice to know that you like it Burt.
You know that i love minimalistic and dark stuff.

Maybe it's a good time to do a kind of a "zombiefied" Halloween track ...... thats reminds me that i should do the next part of the Hamburg Horror Files .... something like Burt and the child get some help and the flee to a little habour, sure with some fights and stuff and then they sail home to USA and hope that everything will change to good but they are wrong and the states are also infected ....

But we should also do some more stuff for the album :)
I wait for some riffs and stuff to work on.

Thanks for the comment and the fav

stay tuned

on The Rain by Lorbemzo
I love the additional depth that sounds, especially nature sounds, can add to a piece. Huge fan of adding ambience. We sure do need some rain here!! If I play enough of these rain songs maybe that will help ;) The title caught my attention because I just uploaded my own Rain tune the other night. Nice clean mix, keep up experimenting with sounds it's way too much fun and the possibilities are endless.

on Zombie Apocalypse sample beat by milesatdenver
I love how the beat/music moves you along through the soundscape. I do believe a zombie apocalypse is a real possibility. Not the dead returning to life but maybe some infection, like rabies, that makes people go insane and behave like a zombie. Look at all the face eating incidents in the news lately!
milesatdenver
milesatdenver replied 28th Aug 2016 - 9 years ago
thanks man, i made the soundscape all from call of duty nazi zombies, and it was kind of experimental. im dropping this on halloween so be on the look out haha ;) oh and zombies is totally possible. have you ever played the last of us? if not go play it on ps4, amazing zombie game

on Cobwebs by SupaFreakshow
\m/ FK YEAH!! \m/ Just my style!! I'm a guitarist/bassist fellow doom head, unfortunately bit too busy at the time for collabs but will definitely keep you in mind. My newest thing is working cigar box guitar into doom tunes. Did one yet to post. I have a 4 sting banjo yet to be recorded and a cigar box violin to be completed. I love how My Dying Bride incorporates alot of violin into their works. :p My vocals consist of spoken word or black metal style as I CANNOT sing! but I've learned to counter that with the use of soundscapes, immersing the listener into the tale of terror muhahaha I love your vox, definitely need to work together in the future 3:D> you know where to find my stuff (at least what's on here)I'm not so great with lyrics myself, I guess I overthink them. Deviant Internment is my doom project ( ineed to dust the cobwebs off of), drum loops and drum midi files since I don't have access to a drummer but all the guitar and bass is real and unedited. more please! \m/
SupaFreakshow
SupaFreakshow replied 25th Jul 2016 - 9 years ago
Haha. Cool. Thanks man! A cigar box violin? What the...? That has got to be hard on the neck and chin! Can't wait to hear that!

As for more, I've got a bunch. This is one of the more "easy to listen to" doom tunes I have. Some of them get pretty gutteral. I'm a big fan of Goatsnake, Sourvein, and Burning Witch. Long live the Sunn Model T!

Thanks on the vocals, but I am not a fan of singing and am trying to avoid it like the plague!

I'll check out your Deviant Internment stuff.

on Victorian Waltz by DanGoldstein
The Victorian era is such a fascinating time. The music fits the story and makes me think of that one I did a few years ago Moonlight dance. Maybe this is the same ballroom for both tunes, just different times, in mine they're all ghosts ;) There was a really cool series on you tube about household killers in the victorian and Edwardian eras, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_x0JgAo2v8 It's a wonder anyone survived! What's the competition? Not sure I'll have time to do much of anything, just have soooo much going on :/ I do know cigar box guitars were around in the civil war era though B-D
DanGoldstein
DanGoldstein replied 19th Jul 2016 - 9 years ago
on the homepage there are a few links to victorian portraits that are for the competition. having a little trouble getting that voting plugin to work again but it would be great if you submitted. might extend through august anyway. honestly i was hoping for cigar box entry because it would be very period.

on El Muerto by Neomorpheus
I could share ghost, paranormal stories, experiences with you for hours!! Makes you question your own sanity. Did I really see that? Just accept there's phenomenon we will never explain. You actually wouldn't believe all the people that have similar stories. I love that you investigated it afterwards. Ghost, they say, cannot physically harm you so nothing to be afraid of, hahahaha easier said than done! One night I was working late, alone as always, at my town hall maintenance job when I heard footsteps upstairs in the police department. Of course I went up to check it out. Too bad the cop on duty was parked up the road a few blocks watching traffic! I know that because after I realized there was no one there and the footsteps continued I got the hell out of there.Yes, I had to come back for more :p Loving the western frontier spanish outlaw flavor this has. I can picture El Muerto roaming the desert with arrows sticking out of his mummified headless corpse, tattered ragged filthy clothing flapping as the black stallion gallops along. DId it work? Did the banditos get the message? Vlad Tepes (the real Dracula) once turned back a 100,000 strong Turkish army with 30,000 impaled turkish prisoners. They got the message quite clearly 3:D> More plz!! \m/ \m/ Time to watch a western. If it makes you feel any better I once saw a colonial woman float across my front lawn (where I still live) ;) She was like a hologram, but clear as day! Indians roamed this area at that time and there's a place not far away where there's a legend 2 guys were running from the Indians when they killed one and he's buried next to the stream at a rest stop called Snow Falls. There's also a Wal mart just up the road, supposedly built on an old indian burial ground. Enough rambling, western movie time.

Well this was a crazy experience for me Katz. I cant explain it but I'm certain it was a real horse that just coincidentally scared the B'Jesus out of us! But like I said we could not find any evidence of such. It looked and sounded real that's for sure ! Have to be careful how involved you get with that stuff. The more you accept it and believe it the more likely you will encounter it! Hope the movie was good.

on El Muerto by Neomorpheus
Love reading the historical events that led to the birth of so many cool creepy legends. I'm more familiar with the Ickabog Crane and the headless horseman of massachussettes tale but have heard a similar one from Texas. Can you imagine what those who encountered EL Muerto must've thought of that decomposing headless thing on horseback! Music fits the tale well. \m/
Neomorpheus
Neomorpheus replied 13th Jul 2016 - 9 years ago
Hey Katz, over the years I have found myself in some really crazy situations and this one was certainly one of the more bizarre. To this day when I think back on it I try to rationalize it and make myself believe what we had seen had to have been a real horse. I dont choose to believe in ghosts, mainly because they scare me! But then why could we not find any horse tracks in the area where we had seen this happen? We also drove around to some of of the neighboring farms and inquired if they had seen anything or had any of their horses get out, and none said they had. Anyhow, its a mystery that will never be solved but I still get chills when I think about it and I don't like to be around horses. The friend I spoke of, whose name is Gil Chavira, now believes we did in fact see El Muerto. This song, I will dedicate to him.

Thanks for the listen and comment bro.

on The Denim Clad Monk by silverman
Brother to the Leather Clad Monk :p What is that string instrument, the bass one? Sounds like a plucked cello. I like the synth sound that's kind of like throat singing. Recorded live at a monastary in the Himilayays, the same one I escaped to when running from the yeti after Orlando stopped singing to him!!

Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 17th Jun 2016 - 9 years ago
That is quite a compliment! Thank you for that! In all honesty, a lot of the songs that I make, I can't help but hear strong correlations with a lot of the music which I've been listening to for a long time. This leads me to the conclusion that very few people on Looperman listen to the sort of thing which I like. If this weren't the case, they would probably be mentioning those musicians, instead of mentioning ones who I am only vaguely familiar with when making comparisons. I guess I should take advantage of this, instead of worrying that I'll be accused of ripping of my favorite artists! Thank you for always showing up to the party!
