Description : As I'm currently transitioning to Pro Tools 12 (I gave my old rig to a friend in need of it), I decided to return to my roots and write some original songs without any electronic stuff involved. This was the result. Pardon the bad quality, my laptop mic is garbage :P I do hope to get this and others on ASCAP soon and write songs that could possibly be picked up by some of the bigger players in the game. My voice isn't on point due to allergies so this is why I don't like spring anymore :P Cheers!

... I have no words.. I just want to listen... Perhaps that can serve as my review.. I hope you re-record this when your set up is better.. I recommend The Behringer B-2 Pro, cheap, sounds great for it's price... I love the little click click sound of the space bar at the end, I know that sound too well XD.. That was really fantastic man, I'll be keeping my eye out for it in the future..

Raw, live recordings have a beauty that can't be matched by some so perfectly done with all the digital toys at our disposal now a days. It captures something special, a singer songwriter at their most vulnerable. Very nice Brado. I've been using Reaper over 2 years now and love it for recording live played instruments. It's good to get back to our roots and take a break sometimes from all the digital techniques so widely used now. Not bad for a laptop mic recording. I use my phone's voice recorder when at work to make voice or vocal samples. Piezo pickup (contact mics) for my cbgs since I don't have a very good enviroment for mic recordings.

Thanks phatkatz! I approach music differently when I create it on the guitar versus in a DAW. Seems to flow a bit better. I appreciate the listen! c:

    Hey :) this is beautiful

What can i say? I really like it and i am sure that it will be a great song when you record it in better quality. but for a live played track that is recorded via laptop mic it's very nice.

    Respect!

    stay tuned

    Hi Brado

There is definitely an awareness to the actual 'recording outcome' being present (so to speak) otherwise you wouldn't release this, that's understood.

In other words you seem to approach the same thing again and again but from a slightly different angle this time - I saw the corresponding thread too.

I also like to think about the 'music itself' sometimes (regardless of whether it's mixed to the standards) but this one sounds really good when particulary and exclusively played on the laptop speakers (the only way in which I can play tracks from Looperman at this very moment).

I am always focusing on the high spectrum of the overall sound image and (in here) nothing is lost of an original sound substance. It seems like the speakers of laptop are entirely capable to channel those acoustic frequencies.

There are some interesting sounds in the background the moment when adjusting the microphone as well as an excellent mouse click sounds towards the end too, what can I say. I can't recall to much of an 'electronic' from you but I know you tend to color your recordings with a lot of additions.

For live recordings, you will probably need only a good microphone(s) (also you need to properly place them of course) and a simple wave-editor I believe.

I admire your songwriting skills as well as your current looperman strategy.

"In other words you seem to approach the same thing again and again but from a slightly different angle this time - I saw the corresponding thread too."

I don't quite understand what you mean here :P

"this one sounds really good when particulary and exclusively played on the laptop speakers"

I agree. Just listened to it on my laptop speakers and it actually doesn't sound absolutely terrible haha.

"There are some interesting sounds in the background the moment when adjusting the microphone as well as an excellent mouse click sounds towards the end too"

Yea, my brother was playing video games in the background and it picked up his mouse clicks! I didn't worry about it too much though, it was a raw recording anyways and I wasn't looking for absolute perfection.

"I can't recall to much of an 'electronic' from you but I know you tend to color your recordings with a lot of additions."

Yea, when I say electronic, I mean using software/computers to record and polish off my music. This one, however, is just raw - no editing, no mixing, etc.

"I admire your songwriting skills as well as your current looperman strategy."

Thank you, promenade. I appreciate the lengthy review and your kind words!

Haha, during the intro I heard myself say "Oh, wow". Instant goose bumps. Simply wonderful, really. I'd love to hear a whole album of songs like these in my car when driving through the country side.

Now on the production side, I really think your song would benefit greatly from a good recording ;). Simply buy a good mic, or start saving for one. You have a great voice (it is actually the first time I listened to one of your tracks) that really deserves to be recorded with care. If you would, and the song would be released, I'd be the first one to buy it. It's beautiful.

Thanks! I do actually have some recording equipment (AKG C214 and Behringer B1 vocal mics, TubePre V2 vocal pre-amp, Audiotechnica ATH-M50x headphones, Martin and Guild acoustic guitars, Yamaha MOX8 performance keyboard, PRS customs each worth 3000 and 5000 USD respectively and some pretty decent amps :33)! Im just missing the software to put it all together :P Soon, I will re-record this and hopefully make a little album of just acoustic songs. Who knows, I probably will make it into an all-out album. I'll hit you up when it comes to full fruition!

Good for you Brado...nothing I like better that listening to the real stuff (the production stuff will get there when you get your rig together)...its a good song and nicely delivered. I really like acoustic accompaniment myself but I can hear lots of potential for a variety of instrument/ accompaniment approaches on this one..that should be an advantage when you get it catalogued...You sing well, so a decent mic will make a big difference (in terms of quality for money I have settled on Rode mics the last couple of purchases but there are some great mid priced ones now)...anyway...well done to you....enjoyed it...keep doing it....Ed

One thing though, the acapella in this song, is a low quality? Not really sure it might just be me.

    BradoSanz

It's low quality, I am currently stuck on using my laptop's microphone as I transitioning to a new DAW soon. My apologies but it's as good as it'll get for now :)

Description : This is an acoustic cover of the song "Come As You Are" by David Crowder. I recorded, mixed, and mastered this one in two days! Almost done burned me out haha! Hope you enjoy!

My older brother does the lead vocals and I do everything else, from instrumentation to harmonies. No vocal-editing whatsoever in this one. The guitars were all one-take recordings. Updated the audio - I added tambourine hits in the 2nd and 3rd choruses; just helps make for a more moving song.
