Description : This is the new version of Monolith (We See The Dawn) and vastly improved! If it sounds like Ultravox (Midge Ure, Warren Cann, Billie Currie, Chris Cross lineup) then hopefully I've done my job as that was exactly my intention. There's no hiding this was the group that I loved in the 80's (inc John Foxx's line up). I can almost imaging Billy Currie playing the piano and lead synth!It's going to be entered on the Ultravox website as they do a competition each year for a 'soundalike' Ultravox track.
For those wanting to know the VSTs used the lead synth and portamento comes from 'Scanned Synth', pianos from True Piano's, Drums Cakewalk's Session Drummer, percussive noise from Ugo's Ironhead and MCH's Industrial Tones (my new VST) and Absynth as usual.

Description : At first with this one i was lost, just couldnt figure out how to incorperate the loops provided into a track! But after some chopping and effects i maganged to use- bassloop 1,Pad 1 which was chopped and the smallest amount used but worked pretty effectivly, both synth loops, dusthills for the main synth, then chopped synth 2 with a slight phaser and wahwah added with some echo too and it suprised me how well and effective it turned out! The tabla loop thrown in for some background beat in the middle of the song, and the smallest insignificant woodwind loop that i chopped and reversed. I recorded my didgeridoo for the middle section, ive been meaning to get some into the mix so that good too. All with some nice dubstep style drum, so i spose ill put it in that genre! so i hope you all enjoy.

Description : This tracks falls under Creative Commons non-commercial liscense agreement as posted on ccmixture.org. Nobody panic, this is not a violation of copyright.Instead of hacking her song to death, I focused on coming up with a mix that I myself enjoy listening to. Added some minor synth work here and there. Used multple vocal tracks for delay effect along with volume envelops for delay mix control. Works better then mindlessly slapping delay on a track and having to live with a set Wet/Dry mix ratio. Another stupid trick was voice doubling Ozzy Osbourn style.. I just made it a little less wet. Seemed to agree with her voice rather well. This track also is totally unMastered. No compressors or limiters or EQing on the Master mix at all. I used a VSTi synth and a little MIDI work for the synth bubbles. Was a lot better then chasing ##### looking for a suitable loop to use. Did not have to worry about pitch, sound quality and BMP of a friggen loop. Shame on me for not using a loop for this. I'm just pulling out some old school techniques for doing things.

Description : I'm going to file this under Electronic, not sure if that's the correct genre? But does it really matter? I came up with the main synth melody using the Z3ta+ vst, I also used this for a couple of the other synth parts, along with the DuneCM vst. Added some D&B drum loops and a pad/sweep loop. I'm pleased with the middle eight section as I think it breaks the song up a little bit. Feel free to download or comment, all feedback is always appreciated. Thanks.

Description : Quite an upbeat track, built around a simple drum beat, which I sliced together as I wanted very short breaks in the drum pattern. A solid bass synth to accompany the drums and the odd sequence. In addition to this, there's another nine seperate synth melodies that I played. Description : Slightly saddening track about the rain I stared at outside my window while composing this. Arguably one of my best tracks.I don't actually know what genre to consider this, I know I used House drum patterns, but I wouldn't call this "House." Or even "Deep House" for that matter.
Everything synth-wise was from Massive, my favorite synth.
Also, this track is officially called "rain", but because of the minimum 5 letter limit, I had to lengthen it for this site only.

Description : Nothing beats nostalgia. A bit nod to those who know Commando and Rambo on the C64 will get it. Mixing 80s retro with my own Dark EDM 8/16/32/64 bit glitchy guitar and synth sounds.
