Description : So I've been watching waaaay too many videos about monsters of the deep ocean. So it seemed only natural that I used this theme as a basis for a song. It's kinda got a modern rock sound, so I went with that as a genre description. Please enjoy!

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.

Description : This song was not supposed to be the fourth track of "Diverse waves", but it finally is. Anyway it's a rock oriented track with some interesting sounds. I hope you like it. Worked in zenbeats DAW, by Roland.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.

And Spongebob got eaten by the monster. That will teach him for creeping about an octopuses garden. Filthy creature.
Very well put together on all levels of songwriting and production.

I liked this one. Reverse bits were tasty. Vocals fit very well. Modern Folk is what I'd call it.

Bulldozer is a killer track that I've been listening to for a while now. Sorry For Me has also become a bit of a personal anthem (I'm such a mopey bastard). So, uh, thanks for the compliment. It's something I can run with... NO TAKE-BACKSIES!!!
TA
You're definitely evoking the sounds of the deep with that piano intro and other bleepy synth sound. Makes me think a tiny bit of Floyd's masterful epic called Echoes.
Into is OK but the proper track takes off on 0:41 with that funky beat and nice string part.
And then a good vocal arrives. I'm really getting to recognise your laidback vocal style. It's become quite distinctive.
Somewhere around 1:30 I think some reverse activity starts up.
1:52 a small vocal pop/plosive which you could maybe remove, just to tidy things up a little. I guess most people won't even notice it. Maybe you don't use a pop shield.
I really don't hear any rock music in here at all. What do you think is 'rock' about it? No guitar and not rock drums so I wonder why you hear 'a modern rock sound'.
Overall, it's good, interesting stuff. Kind of late night chillout or cinematic to my ears.
Congrats.
I always appreciate your comments as they always provide useful insight and criticism. The pop you mentioned has had me stumped for a while, I have been waiting for someone to point it out. So nice one for spotting it! After ages of checking through every track meticulously, I realized it is a clash between a panning guitar note and my vocal. I've corrected the problem in a revised version.
The reason I count the song as rock, is because I wrote the whole thing on guitar as a straightforward rock song. Then kind of repackaged it. The reversed sounds and the panning notes in the verses are all done on guitar. The synth in the first vocal part is 3 heavily processed and stretched guitar notes.
But you are right, it's sound isn't really rock at all now. I just hate, hate, hate having to choose a label for my music. Not because I think it's "oh so original" but because I think the audience has to make their own associations.
Anyway's, enough rambling and moaning. Thank you for your thoughts, you have given me much to think over. Especially as I work out what the hell I'm doing next :p

The vocals are cool really fits with the track.
But what i love most is the piano and drums they blend well together, good job :)

As for the abrupt ending, it's a fair comment. I cut it like that because I wanted to suggest that the "monster" was there (after spending 3mins "coming closer"). Though it may end up fading into another track when I finally get my album together; possibly a stringed reprise in a later version. We'll see.
Cheers.

just one thought: there are huge differences between genre definitions...if you like , listen to my new rock track...:-)
anyways...avantgarde chill/rock with your master voice...
hats off, Danke
I've downloaded your song and will see if I can come up with anything. No promises on results though. I seem to have a mental barrier when it comes to performing in other peoples music. Will message you and let you know either way.
Cheers,

I do love the work of Lovecraft, he's the king of written dread. I haven't read Saranth, but I do love Shadow Over Innsmouth.
I'm glad you are as fascinated about the subject as I am, there's just so much you can do with it creatively
