Description : Here's a collab I made with cool guy who goes by Bell Rosen. He's an interesting guy with an amazing way of instrumentation that I'm not used to. His structure with the acoustic guitar with my structure of general instrumentation made this interesting combination. I will surely try to bring him in this site ASAP to demonstrate his unique styles. Oddly, he is in the same state as me, yet in a completely different time zone. This track was incredible to make. I'm not sure what the genre would be, so considering it has different possibilities, I'll list it as fusion, which would consist of what some fellow loopers call Celtic, Jazz, and New Age. What do you guys think?

Nice soft subtle feel to this. Smooth like texture to it, relaxing. Reminds me a hint of some songs on the .Hack game soundtracks. Great collabo. Very nice piano. Digz it, peace
Sweet sweet bass line. Interesting pitch bends/glides. REALLY like the sound and groove of the drums. Real jazzy. Synth sound and melody is dope when it comes in. Overall amazing track. Like nothing i heard before really. Fusion for sure. Awesome stuff. You guys should collaborate more if this is the result =]
Thanks Rampa! Rozen and I made this interesting track, unintentionally at first, actually. His styles are beyond unique, which I absolutely love. Hopefully in the near future, he and I can do more tracks together.
versatile and progressive fusion tune, just how i like it! i think fusion fits this, could be as well chillout or maybe even folk. sometimes it's just a matter of how conservative or not the subject is i guess :)
i found some exceptional parts in the melodies, also impressed by the sound choices and mix. the first "yeah!" moment was at around 1:20, that silky smooth synth has a lovely sound. right up my alley - think i melted a little inside.
on the off chance that you already know all these things i am about to mention anyway, here my thoughts:
if anything, then the intro could probably use some more attention. even though what follows makes up for those minor imperfections by far, it just doesn't do the rest of the track fully justice. it is nothing major though and should be easy to fix. for one you might get slightly more realistic results by tweaking the velocity of cherry-picked notes and do adjustments to the mapped parameters that are affected by velocity, if necessary. for plucked instruments i think an amp-env attack or sample-start mapping should already be all you need to get some improvements. sometimes a touch of filter cutoff modifier mixed in can't harm either, especially when there is only one sample for the whole 1-127 velocity range as they tend to sound still very plucky and bright even when using an as flat as possible attack envelope.
finally, for quick successively played notes experiment with different velocity slopes. exponential/logarithmic shapes are the way to go for emulating natural expressions. and the last thing: i found the pitch bends at the beginning slightly distracting, maybe they are a tad too accentuated?
fantastic tune guys. hat off to you sirs - and thanks for the download!
I appreciate your comment. The way this track was set up is interesting. Rozen and I did this 50-50. We weren't even in the same room, let alone same city. Rozen made the intro which I left untouched. I figured, not only is he keen with his specific style of music, but he is also my guest, I wanted to keep it as Ookami-free as possible. Since his style is untraditional, I'd rather not make it anything else. The acoustic guitar, with it's pitch bend was his original idea, and given that I've never been able to do such...let alone knowing you can, I kept it. Everything else was done as if automatically. He and I worked on this with our ideas, and placed them into the track. This isn't my style, but interestingly enough, it wasn't his either. Thanks for the comment. I'm looking forward to doing more with him. Take care. :)
Ookami this is fabulous !
The guitar intro almost sounds like a spinnet.
The piano and the spacey sounding synth are quite contrasting but I love it.
Totally fresh and unique.
Really enjoyed it man.
Thanks Neo! This was absolutely different for me. I've never made nor heard anything like this before. Rozen has a very different style which made this possible to make. I'm looking forward to working with him some more. Thank you again!
Really like this one GoldenOokami....I played bass with a group for a while so I really like the walking bass style myself...contrasts nicely with the guitar lines...I hear a bit of medevil/new age in it (mainly the guitar & key bits)...This definitely is different and the good thing about that is it makes a real interesting listen all the way to the end...the interaction of the instruments if certainly not your standard fare so it might not appeal to everyone but this ol boy enjoyed it in any genre you like......well done guys.....keep on...Ed
Thank you Ed. My partner for this track, Rozen, has a specific producing style which made this unique track possible. The intention was medieval-based, but it took off from there. Very proud of this track, and the awesome collaboration.
I have always appreciated that sort of music which tends to be
different and unconventional and this is exactly the case with this interesting piece. In spite of some apparent dissonance issues, this works for me in general. My favourite aspects of this track are piano driven parts which are just great and deserve a 'fav' according to this listener..:)
Thank you very much! This track has elements which I was unsure of how to work with, but at the end, I am proud. My partner, Rozen, has incredible skills in terms of producing with Fl Studio. I have never heard anything to what he's done, and being able to work with him was simply amazing. Very proud of this track. Thanks again!
sweet sounding guitars at the beginning. you could say the bass has a "walking" feel to it that speaks to the jazz influence. I like the slightly bi-tonal sound of the piano against some harmonies in the background. it's a very gentle, colorful work. nice job.
Thank you! This track was a different style for me altogether. My partner on this track has a very non-traditional style with Fl Studio, which was very interesting to work with. Thank you again!
I appreciate it! This track was done 50% by Rozen, and 50% by myself. He did the first half initially, and I took on the rest of the track. Majority of the things he put initially, I didn't touch. He and I agreed that we liked the final outcome before putting it on here. His style isn't really traditional, as you can hear from this track. I also heard a lot of off things, but it wasn't what I did, nor what I wanted to fix. If those things I'm not used to are included, and was made by my partner, I kept it in, for that's what gives the track its uniqueness, in my eyes. Thanks for the comment! And also...I never noticed the backwards spelling. That's hilarious. Ookami is Japanese for wolf, and Gold(en) is my favorite color. ;)
Not Jazz as it's a melange of Celtic folk scale and modern minimalism (Philip Glass). But that's just the musical disection. as a listening piece it's just damn fun.
Cru
Thanks Cru. Actually I decided to go on with Fusion, since I've gotten different genre preferences. This was really abnormal for me to make in a sense that working with my partner in this track give a new sense of style. If you check out my other tracks, this one, at least to me, sounds the most different.
Sounds like "middleage music in a new style" to me, not realy like jazz.
Nice soundscape for me ears. Maybe the bass is a little to freaky for my opinion but thats not important.
It´s nice calm and relaxed, just right for a little daydream.
But who the heck is "the person", "the guy", "this guy"?
Sounds a bit like - it´s not allowed ta say his name -
Is he Lord Voldemort?????
If he´s so important for this track, why you dont tell us who he is?
Hello Joe. Appreciate your comment. As other loopers have named other genres the track could be, I decided to go with Fusion. As for my collab partner, I didn't post his name or anything because I wasn't sure if he wanted to be publicly named. But I fixed that, for he confirmed he indeed didn't mind. I appreciate you bringing that to my attention. Most people wouldn't care to question about this other "guy" for he could have been some big time record producer. Anyhow, I appreciate your words! And I'm sure Rosen would too.
hi Ookami, very nice and dynamic track! Good piano part (I wonder if it is just a loop or I can actually hear you playing?) bringing much harmonic clarity and 'stability' to the music. I think the bass-line is always a kind of a crutial factor in a jazz-genre music. That's why I do not see it really as a jazz track itself. I mean... maybe I would expect somehow a kind of a chord-changes clarity in the 16 bars structures here... but it appears for a moment when you intruduce the piano! For the most part it's a kind of a relaxing/new age indeed and fusion nice-music containing very interesting elements (nice mellow syhth solo line!). Even some folk flavors (acoustic guitar?). Nice ideas for music here and pretty creative track. Good work. Alex
Hi Alex. Thank you for your words. I originally played it, however I decided to just use Nexus with it's Piano function, make the pattern, and used that instead. I thought it was Jazz-like due to the percussion patterns that were used, however, I've come to the conclusion that since the other looper commenters said other genres, I'd list it as fusion. I appreciate it again!
It has all the Jazz elements Chord structure says it's something else...
Harmonic formulas are not there yet, a freaky sax doing counterpoint
punching those lines may do the trick...
Could almost go into the Celtic Jazz mode, some Bagpipe jazz kinda stuff.. :-)
Much appreciated Soundhound. I thought the drum patterns had that Jazz-like feel. But I decided to just go with Fusion as the genre. This is one of the most different styles I've made, but I appreciate your words nevertheless.
Really cool track, G.O. Little confused about the jazz genre, though. Has a nice 'new age' feel to it. Very well balanced on all instrument. Love the keys.
I appreciate it Scott. I suppose the percussion had that Jazz feeling to it, however I decided to put the genre as fusion. Other looper commenters have said other genres along with yours. Nevertheless, I appreciate your comment and your time to listen.

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
Description : I had to go in on this track. This is a future bass, electrofusion song. I posted the full version here full the Looperfam because you guys give me sooooo much support. I can never thank you all enough.

A few notes on top of each other that probably shouldn't be. A few dissonant spots.
The quick plucking of the acoustic is neat, though it sounds pretty fake, I still like the line.
Overall I liked it.
By the way, your name backwards is "I'm a kooned log". If this has an meaning to you, good, but I don't get it.
Take care.
