It's about time you explore your own compositions... don't worry about the simplicity in chord structures of this piece, your arrangement is sublime. you have the (natural talent) ear for arranging music. I hope you learn as much as you can. My early compositions were simple chord structures. ( I just put one on looperman) I was fortunate to study in (college) music theory and to be exposed to many forms of music. But I will always remember that obsession I had with making music when I was 16. the same obsession you have, and don't worry about professionals and music theory majors in school, just follow your heart's desire of music when you can and enjoy what you create.

Love the aggression in this. I am a U.S. Citizen even though I live in Canada now and am very close to dual citizenship. Just know that this is the 17th time the gov't has shutdown. this is nothing new.n But I tell you I love the progression and aggression of these riffs.! you have a great sound going on definitely complete this with a vocalist!
glad to see U've liked iT Steve , for sure hearing what U'll

I like when you add industrial elements to your music. adds a great depth. Chord progression of Neil Young's Like a Hurricane (verse). Good job with this my friend.
Great concept, musically you have it down, it's just in the mixing and dynamics that a little more work is needed. Bring up the percussion, lower the effected piano a bit (nice effect btw) But keep at it your almost there!
Yes! There is a lot to do to bring out some action in there with the mixing and the mastering is also very poor.
I'm hoping for some inspiration to continue with this - thanks for listening and for the advice Steve, and have a great day over there!
Just an impressive tune, wow it's like 5 in a row tonight. I am so glad to hear such amazing talent on this site lately. This tune is an amazing use of minimalism. I could hear vocals as diverse as Robbie Robertson or even a Macklemore style or even an operatic voice. Great job ( I think you could add a guitar like Tumbleweeds style to this tune to make it soar)
Steve
thank man,i really wanted to go into that soul free fall mode which is hard reach sometimes in music with so many distractions in life, will stop by and chk ur catalog
It has great production values and interesting lead ins, but to me sounds like 2 completely different songs being mixed in and out One melodic, and one a killer bass, electro-deep house sound with dissonant scales. If you are using this as an intro song it won't stun the floor as it goes back and forth and people will take that as a perfect time to go get a drink. maybe remix this with the awesome intro build with the dissonant bass sounds, build to a climax, then the breakdown is the beginning of the melodic sound which you build back up and then add to it more bass and effects. Otherwise great potential
I love the sounds you have created and the spacial mixing is awesome, I do agree the intro is a bit long. This is clearly a futuristic jazz vision. great work
That might just be a little too much honor. I just like producing jazzy stuff, no vision here :-). Like decorating a house, just choose the items you like.
Much much better. I love the drums. Even the piano was made to be softer in the mix, bravo. nice use of phase effects at the end, also much more compressed sound.
Good to hear, Steve!! Thanks for listening again. I kind of lost myself there with all the effects but one can always come back later and try again I guess. =D
Take care!
Ahhh! Where was this song when I was stuck in Montreal traffic today!!!! I could've used this!!!!!!!!
Interesting breaks. awesome progression of chords, nice work!
