I love the chord changes at 1:15, you are trying to emulate the Vienna sound of classical-ism. I appreciate that. Myself I like Neo-Clasicism or Minimalism in my serious music idioms! Anton Weber or Philip Glass. But your work is good my friend! You have a sense of proper chord progressions! And a good sense of filtering and mixing. But to be innovative.... throw all of that away! We need to be beyond Neo classical and minimalism! Embrace Ambient and Dissonant and you will find yourself making amazing music!
sincere gratitude
Steve!

Ahhhhh....love this intro! nice production on this tune! The voices you add are sublime, almost a stream of conscious thought, as if we were entering the mind of someone stripping back all the minutiae of every day existence. Great work!

Awesome!! You melded the best of P-Funk, White Cherry, Sly-and Roger and the gap band, maybe the conmmodores too, but a nice blend. Avec some rap as well. great work!

on kaoss pad 2 by hanginghighguy
I have the original Kaos Pad and the Kaos Pad 2 DJ mixer. I did not hear that much of it in this tune. Pretty basic bass and drums mix ("Beat") What were you thinking of doing with it? It definately needs more attention.
hanginghighguy
hanginghighguy replied 21st Aug 2013 - 12 years ago
yes it is very basic still figuring out my system. I used a Kaosssilator pad loop and mixed with the loop lengths recording into adobe audition. Then I added a simple synth from the keyboard. Not too sure if its worth more of my time..just gon focus on the next one. thanks for the comment and listen though! ~ EvOLvE

lol, i know i was surprised at that myself, nothing was over compressed, no channels went into the red, or even peaking close, and it was limited on the bass and master channel! Anyway thanks for the great words! :)

WOW! Completely impressed, you my friend are about 10 yrs into the future with this sound. brilliant, fav'ed & donloaded. awesome production, yes this sounds fun, and it's pop like for the generation to grow up next with multicultural sounds. So you are way ahead of your time, but it's so nice to hear something so original and good. Standing Ovation.

This is a very interesting sonmg that i like. One critique, back down in the mix the pads that you introduce in the song at about 50secs in and portray throughout the mix. They interrupted my dancing in my chair! The rhythm Synths are awesome and your use of filtering is great. The pads are just a bit too loud. nice work my friend

Hey thanks so much! I spent some quality time on this one! I am still learning about mixing and mastering as I go! I've actually lost a real valuable track I spent even more time on and I won't be able to get it back! So, I am in the process, right now, of re-producing it ! It's not the same but the passion is definitely going to be on the same level! It's going to have a sort of CSI sort of vibe to it; you know when those shows cut to the lab and they've got this real cool music fill in? That's what I'll be going for here... Until then, that's what I'll be working on ! Peace

Cool Kenny, you created a very frantic sound with the high BPM and very interesting chord progression. It was my first song I played this Sunday morning as I started to sip my coffee, and it got my attention. Ironically the coffee brew is named Kick-Ass,(https://www.kickinghorsecoffee.com/en/store/coffee) and it matches what this song does. Nice work!

This is a very good track musically .I really enjoyed the chord progressions and the soul of your guitar playing. I agree with Static Nomad that the mix could be better, but the framework is awesome. Hope to hear the progression of this tune!
