Description : Slightly pitched and remastered - is it more in tune now??? Thanks for all the advice so far!!
.............................................
Just a very rough beginning, would like to know if it's any idea to continue working on this and what to add?

Took me a moment to get into but we got there well before the end! i love Katie's vocals there top quality. Vocals fit well. You have done a great job with this one. Thanks for the refreshing sounds =)
Oh, then I'm sorry too. Having that disorder isn't easy. The good side to it is that people with it very often also are brilliantly gifted in artistic and creative fields. As yourself.
Just remember to eat properly, sleep regularly and take care of yourself and you'll often be fine most of the time.
a lot of character in this one, sounds pretty in tune too to me! you should definitely continue with that, maybe work on the vocal integration some more but also don't over it. lovely piano. i think keeping it simple and minimalistic is a good way to go here to gradually sculpt the character this track holds.
Hey SJ....this is great!..love the huge sound stage present throughout, piano and vocals work so well together....with a track like this where space is at a premium it would be very easy to add lots of extra elements, which I might add could overwhelm the ambience you've already created....however if viewed as an audio drawing where the primary consideration is keeping things in perspective, adding things like electronic transients, strings, percussives etc can be incorporated successfully as long as they remain behind the reverb model you've created and move in conjunction with subtle volume changes...less is more here like a ballet stag...excellent work so far! cheers Dave
Wow, one of Loopermans finest musicians listening and actually liking! May I kiss your feet? Hey don't run away!
Well, I also thought about that adding stuff maybe would ruin the hole song...at least the plane piano-voice-flute part. Maybe it's fine as it is? Less IS more. Often.
Besides, I still really don“t know what to add. It would be great with some real instrumentals, a guitar or what ever...which I don't have or play.
Need to take a break from this and come back later.
A subtle and clever musical montage, .... A beautiful melody but also surprising.
The piano brings here a mysterious side that I like ....
I agree here, with leading commentators, concerning the voice and reverb.
This does not detract from the originality of the concept .... and I hi here your talent of creator .....
Hi Dan and thank you!
Yes, I will listen to the advice and remaster this. Was going to do that today but something else came up (some laundry and a thunder storm...lol)
Ok , now were in tune, and the piano sounds great down tuned. Now my other suggestion is I agree with Ed in that you should back down a bit on the reverb on her voice. Then it will sound much better with the piano, but it is becoming a spectacular start.! Keep doing!
well...I think you`re off to a fine start SJ...I love piano (even though I sometimes claim to be an ol guitar guy)..perhaps reduce the volume very slightly and maybe try inserting a mid-side processor to widen the piano and leave a vocal spot in the middle (there are some decent free ones...check Brainworx Music for their BXSolo)..I don`t mind quite a bit of reverb..although I might reduce it a touch (its a personal taste think I think)...also..on your reverb setting...set the pre-delay quite long (50ms or so) and that will allow the initial vocal phrases to sound clearer before the reverb kicks in...The disonance isn`t overly concerning but you could check the key relationship between the piano & vocal & perhaps get them closer.......will have to check back & hear how you make out....Keep it rolling...and a well done to you....Ed
What a great guy you are, Ed!! Thank you for taking your time to listen and giving lots of very good advice. Especially that about the BXSolo - I'm checking in to that and the rest of it first thing tomorrow.
Right now I've just used FL's stereo enhanger to widen the piano a bit and looked over the pitching part.
Piano is too loud, chocking the track. need to keep an eye on your output spectrum so the do not peek red if you no what I mean. Put the piano stereo wide and bass no more at at 10 o'clock possittion and keep it very suttle. that is all i can say for know, beautiful track you is working on and would love to hear how you will get on with this. good job :)
I was just checking on the piano, your piano song starts in the key of C#, the original accapella is in the key of B or 2 steps down. The vox just seems out of tune to my ears. did you tune the pitch of the pella at all?
No, didn't pitch at all. There is a dissonance in there wich I sort of liked, but of course it's not supposed to be totally out of tune!
Thanks Steve! I'll pitch the vocals and check what happens with the song that way.
I love that pella - It's just amazing! But I have to get better at imitating pianoplaying in FL. Thank you for listening - really pleased over you liking it!

After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.

Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.
Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.
Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."
Description : This is a track off of one of my EP's I dropped last year. It is based on True events. Sometimes when people finally take a second in life to slow down and breathe in..... The oxygen is deflated and it's too late. Take your time people, because time is what differs a good decision over a bad one. Life is precious!

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice
Description : This track describes a magical state that I experienced a long time ago. Maybe you also know the feeling that you can't describe something like this with words ... luckily we have the music for it!

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...

Take care!
And very welcome to the Loop!
=)
Thanks for pointing out these things to me, Steve. (But really - my beloved reverb!!? OK, I'll cut it down a bit.)
Now I noticed that I forgot to fix the piano on the drumside of the track - darn thing...to be continued.
=)
Right now I've just used FL's stereo enhanger to widen the piano a bit and looked over the pitching part.
I've remastered a bit just now but there is more to be done.
Thanks for Everything and take care!
Cheers,
Scott

Thanks Steve! I'll pitch the vocals and check what happens with the song that way.
The "piano" needs a lot of refining.
