on Breaking Walls by Killumineye
Nice use of Midi, interesting albeit older analogue drum kit usage, but it works for this tune. I like the strings as well. I think my only critique would be a better defined bass line and more movable. But good work and nice expansive use of MIDI.

I am not sure the BPM but feel free to mess around with it and change it up, or come up with what you think the BPM is.

on No More Lies - Larry Wiggles aka Mark Jeffries by larrywiggles1
I agree with Behnam's synopsis, but it has potential to be something bigger, I can hear it, it just needs some tweaking. Maybe some live synths. I like the delayed vocals. It needs some more varied percussion, and maybe slow the tempo down just a squeak. Maybe a guitar solo. I would have to think about this one my friend.

Hi Steve,

It did start off as being a favourite track which I thought had potential, but I got a bit disillusioned when I lost the WAV files, maybe I should have gone back to the drawing board, but in one way I am glad I uploaded it because the feedback I am getting is constructive and confirms what I thought. Great to hear from you as always.

Very best wishes,

Mark/Larry!

You have a great sense of the dissonant. The percussion reminds me a bit of Bear Mcreary's work on Battlestar Galactica. compelling cinematic exploration. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Yeah this is deep underground house. Green Velvet like I think. Very creative minimal and enjoyable . Great work way out there and I love that in this work.

on you would not believe me by Tonality
I don't care that people might feel that the guitar work is simple. Nor that the vocals are not polished. It is an expression of minimalistic sound and emotional singing that even though does not resonate in our English thinking minds (not all of you mind that) It touches all of us as musicians at what ever level we are at as an expression. and there is something too this that is compelling. It's kinda like when I listen to Midnight Oil's Bed's are Burning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejorQVy3m8E&html5=1
I know Peter Garrett is not the greatest singer by any stretch and parts are off key..but the way he delivers the emotional impact in a ..dare I say simple chord structure of a song..but it compels me to turn up the volume every time. The message, the emotion of the song just compels you to listen. Or Neil Young (great songwriter..not a great singer (unless harmony)) but still just compeling to listen too...Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Chrissy Hynde, Sioxsie Sioux.. I could go on. IMHO

on Corridor Creep with DESIGNED IMPRESSION by DanGoldstein
Brilliant intro, lovely ambient sounds. like metallic and pad;like at the same time. Then a dissonant string hangs above the metalicpad swirl, interluded with bass clangs. You sir have not only understood what ambient is really about, you have added to the fine small distinction of ambient artists who get it right! hats off to you! Oh and I may have crapped my pants.....:-(

on Nightr8 by Spivkurl
Freaky good, some dark disco going on here. Maybe we could name this genre Litho-Disco. As usual your vox shine for me, nice bass line. The synth line at 2:20 is nice. Love the ending. Great work Spiv. Studio is almost finished here in my new location so I can remix again. will be contacting you soon.

Hey, thanks so much my friend! Means a lot to me! As I said to MYXD, I wasn't thinking about offering a remix kit, but since two of my Looperbuddies are interested I will probably be giving it a try. I was trying to impart a little disco vibe, Litho-Disco...that's funny! I appreciate the supportive comment on the vocals, I found my vocal chords were a little weak on this one, but I just kept on keepin on. I can't take too much credit for the bass line, save for the arrangement and mixing of it. Took me a few tries to get the ending sounding right, it needed to be balanced. Thank you very much for the listen and comment! I will contact you when the remix kit is ready!

I like the percussion and the moving bass-line. I must agree that the synth sounds might not completely fit this tune, But it's a real interesting song nonetheless. And I enjoyed it just the same.

It has been a while since I listening to this track, and now with a distance i agree on the comments on the synth.

But thanks for listening and commenting.

on Circles Never Open by Mosaic
Ok right at the 30 second mark. Go into Acid and make the measure margins to 64th or 128th notes. there you can manipulate the vocal loop to be just a hare forward. I hear the vocals starting just a little bit soon. Play with that and you will see (hear) what works for this track. It's a great track, just needs the sync of the vox. I think the tempo is ok for the vox, just needs to fit the beat. Your gonna get it right soon, I believe that!

on Circles Never Open by Mosaic
Ok now that you have synched.. there is still a disjoint. try delaying the vox slightly to to the beats as it still sounds just a hare off. what loop program are you using? FL or Acid. The vocals sound almost a slight bit rushed to these ancient ears and I think if you adjust with just a hare trigger to the future they would match better. Please let me know...this is good work and has great potential.

Hey Steve

Thanks again for giving feedback one again, really appreciated, I use acid pro7 for my works, because of my lack of loops for this type of genre, struggled to get loops all at same tempo, guessing that is why you are picking up what you are, used a total of 9 loops to make the piece, that's including both sets of vocals, so as I said a simple track, will try and add delay when not working to see if that helps, guessing still sounds okies, but like you said could even be better, thank you again for feedback, that is what makes us grow and become hopefully better at what we do...Any thoughts on anything else...you can contact me via tab...Again many thanks for your help Steve...Peace Mosaic...

This is like a Scottish anthem from a bass perspective. Nice work. Always moving providing some interesting bagpipes to add to the flavour, and then it ends. too short.

Sweet Avatar. Wish they were bigger.

A Scottish anthem? But I'm Dutch/Irish!? What do I do now?

The "Too short" thing is an issue I've had lately. I get something recorded that I consider good, then get nervous about adding something to it in fear of marring it.

I really like what you are doing here. But My spider sense tells me that at some points the rhythm is hurried in comparison to the vocals. Maybe you would want to re visit the timing of the vocals to the beats.
But I like where you are going with this. It has great potential.

on A Perfect Story Ft Miper And KnowKontrol by SeriouslyJoking
I would be interested in listening to a version of this with out the male vocals. And maybe with a synth or guitar lead over this sound. The chord progressions are nice. The choices of synths are excellent. reminds me a bit of a throwa away song from Roxy Music called Always Unknowing. the vocals are not needed for this tune at all..

BTW I make these comments as a fellow colleague. You have done an amazing job at refining your looping abilities and I am impressed at how much you have improved since I first heard your early work. Don't ever stop!!
