Description : If you're old enough, you will remember the 60s and 70s 'surf' music fad, popularized by Dick Dale, The Del-Tones, The Ventures, Etc. Well, this track has remnants of those early sounds with a bit of updating. It has the recognizable guitar twang, Hammond organ, and even the Farfisa organ. I even took the song title from a 1965 surf movie, so take a trip back in time and give it a listen and let me know what you think. Downloads always available to enjoy with my tracks.

Really enjoying how cheerful and warm this song sounds, it's always nice to hear a great surf song! Although I'm definitely not old enough to know any of the original artists :)

Hey, TM. Great to hear from a fellow drummer. I appreciate you checking out my track, even though it may be out of your age range. If I can offer a suggestion, you can learn much from older musician, so please don't write them off too quickly.

LMK if I can help in any way.

Cheers,
Scott

P.S. What kit are you using? I restored my 1971 Ludwig Classic kit, in red sparkle, and just finished restoring a 1965 Ludwig Classic kit in vintage marine pearl.

I appreciate the detail with your tones. It's the glue that keeps all this together. I dig this. Love the keyboard.

Excellent job Scott! You've captured the feel of that era for sure. Great choice of instruments, fitting for this type of music. I have always loved music from this era and style because they feature great catchy guitar riffs and fills and usually a great guitar tone. Even though some artists from that era used to play slower surf songs, like Link Wray for instance, but I always preferred the upbeat, fun danceable surf style.

Everything is great here, I like how there is a lot going on but there is space in the song to give each instrument it's time to shine. Well done, as usual!!

Hey Wayne,

I agree 100%, my friend! I have a hard time finding something I like in todays music. I remember putting the 45s on and playing my cheap little Sears drum kit to them. The Ventures did a cover of Hawaii Five-O, and my Jr. High band played it and I asked the band director if I could play my full drum kit to it for our concert.

Anyway, thanks for chiming in and leaving your kind words.

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks allot, Mark.

What a fun track!

The intro actually sounds a bit like 60's psychedelic I thought. But then quickly goes into the undeniable 60's surf sound like it's straight off of a Ventures' album.

You put together a great track. The end result is upbeat and super fun to listen to but I can tell how much work went into arranging and producing.

Something you don't hear every day! What a pleasant surprise. Made my morning :) I faved

Thanks allot, RW. Glad you like it. Right...My stuff is not what you will hear much on Looperman. Even my collabs with Franco (Ferryterry) is a genre you seldom hear, here.

Cheers,
Scott

Description : "Celebrate the Cornerstone," penned by Kay Matteson, John Matteson, and Richard Shekari, is an uplifting contemporary worship song that beautifully encapsulates themes of salvation and divine love. Drawing from biblical imagery, the lyrics highlight Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone—initially rejected but ultimately essential to faith.
