Hi Steve .
thanks and I'm really sorry about late reply .
I'll be really glad to see what you may do with this one .
feel free to contact me , if you need anything .
thank you very much again .
It is an awesome sound. It's like a merger of R&B and emo in some dark ways. Your voice is low in the key register. I am wondering can you sing an octave higher(in the chorus), because that's what you need to do to make this one over the top. (and not just with a falsetto embellished with autotune) Otherwise no one is going to pay attention to this one sadly I must say because it is a good tune.
crudatruth
wow thank you so much for taking the time to check it out and I will definitely put some work into the chorus as you said to ensure this track is as great as possible. Thanks again and I hope you understand how crucial specific input such as yours is to a solo artist with no one to turn to :)
I have been trying so hard to remember this song from back in the day. It kind of reminds me of what you are doing here. I will let the music explain itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTU90pRI2NE
Love this
Cru
Welcome richatc to the loop. I like this song. My only critique is that I want to hear your voice a little louder in the mix. (never have your guitarist do the mixdown) But it reminds me of some cool seventies bands in the UK and do you know the work of the Struts? Because it's on that level with the influence of Aerosmith.
Awesome, I shall be paying attention
Cru
lol That's great!! I did the mix and I'm a vocalist/ bass player. I do like the guitars out front. I will have to look up Struts, I have a few tracks on here. I am new to this whole loop thing but I do like it. There is a lot of talent on this site and I'm enjoying it when I have time. I'm back in the studio recording a new Cd the songs have not been mastered and I value any input like yours here. Thank you for your ears and I will take a listen to it again.
yeah im moving into a kind of hip-hop/r&b style lately. would be cool to have a rapper on that part at 2:11 actually.
"with your side chaining"
i may have went nuts with the sidechaining i dont know lol, i got some new sidechaining software and its awesome so i might have over done it, but it sounds cool so oh well haha
I agree with all of Silverman's points. the song is sweet. If you remove the white noise you can replace it with a simple organic drum fill, that would do the trick. Then you can use a similar but not the same fill in other parts of the track to distinguish the sections. The key for my musical productions is in the percussion elements. It's what subconsciously holds the listener's interest. Add them subtly and quietly in the mix, sometimes panned far right or left (like a high hat, or a shaker), but it makes a difference. I used to suffer from reverse cymbal fever, in that I believed if I didn't have that element for a phrase change the whole thing would fall apart, but Static Nomad convinced me otherwise and he was correct, now I rarely use them. Oh Also, Right now I'm on a prolific streak of music but sometimes I have gone years without making music. I never force it. But I find if I go into a session with no plan for what I want to do sometimes inspiring things happen as well. Or choose to make a song about an abstract feeling or idea. "Today I'm gonna write a song about how the colour blue feels." for example. Silverman is right as well. Today's crap might actually be something great months or years later.
Cru
An organic drum sounds like it might do the trick. If I can't get any of the ideas thrown out there to work, I'll try going with that. I have the same issue you had with the cymbal. For me, I have to use some sort of sweep effect or the track just sounds empty to me. Perhaps, trying out new ways will help me with the creative issues as its something new and gives me more to explore, and play with. If it doesn't help with the creative issues, I can always do what you suggested and try to give myself challenges to complete when making music. That should inspire me more.
Thanks for all of the help, Steve!
Will definitely give it a go.
Holy Sh##T people are still making Bro-step..well as that goes this is what it should be. I like that people are still making stuff from the past.. I do as well ;-) good work.
Cru
Thanks Crue it was fun doing it. I think we need a genre called I dunno and another maybe called who cares?
Thanks for listening and commenting. Just come from listening to your latest upload and was caught bopping by the missus!
No its not Spam I Made A Mistake By Posting My Track Link On Other Tracks I Didnt Realise About The Spam Ok??Its Not Spam Spammity Spam!!!!!LOL***crucethus:(***
First and foremost you got a fav from me. Why. The song itself is beautiful , always changing, the percussion was great , interesting array of sounds mixed really well.Ed's guitar is sublime as always. You are very good at those subtle pads and strings you place quietly in the back of the mix and then bring them forward when you want to make your point. Nice sounding Piano. Well Done my friend, well done I loved it all.
Steve
First and foremost thanks alot for the fav...means the world!:) I'm really glad you liked all those aspects of the song and I truly appreciate your friendly feedback !
Probably one of your better tracks. Mostly because you stay in the lower ranges of your vocal stratus. When you go higher you get very "Pitchy" Flat, which is in most of your songs that you sing in in a higher plateau. That being said, you have some fundamentals of singing. Why not invest in a vocal coach. Listen; it takes balls to sing on any track, and share it with the whole wide world (I give you a million credits for doing it) . Believe me I am my worst critic of my own voice which is why you don't hear me very often sing. But you have to solve those pitch issues if your gonna demo your songs or else no one will bite when it could be an amazing song underneath. Find a vocal coach and practice..you will get better at it. I believe in you.
Cru
Hey Cru, thanks for checking out the track. I know what you mean on the vocals, I do this for fun/hobby. I wouldn't mind taking some vocal lessons but I don't really have time. I feel like I am still trying to find my voice, I think I am getting closer, but of course I still need way more practice. I think its harder to record my vocals with my headphones on as well, I get a good mix in my cans but it is still a bit awkward. The good thing at least is that I post on the internet and I can hide behind a fake name to cover up my pitch problems, lol. Thanks again for listening and the comments, always appreciated.
This track beat Mora ? I can understand that I passed insane amount of time for Fiery Battle just to gave you a idea all together there are only 9406 notes.
Fun fact this track was originally to be a metal one but due to my metal guitar vst sounds dump. I used my my imagination to convert this in a cinematic track. Thats why the drums is a metal one and you can heard a bass (the only thing who do not sounds dump)
thanks for the fav and stay tuned for the other versions.
Nice piano intro and build. 1:03 we get some percussion. Doesn't seem to build anywhere else though and I think I would put this in chill and not dancehall. I would like to hear this expanded as it's a great intro filled with build-tension and expectations. Otherwise nice work.
Cru
I would Call this more Dark Pop, but this song could easily be remixed as a deep house tune as it has certain elements that deep house needs to make it deep house, but in it's current form it's not deep house. Creepily good though my teutonic friend.
Cru
Maybe you are right but here on looperman there is only a Pop genre and that wouldn't fit really without a Dark in front :) (i think i have to ask Mr. Looperman himself for a Joe Cramer genre)
Nice to know that you liked it
Love the minor 7th chords to start us off. Did I mention that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (Flyte tyme) are a huge influence on my songwriting. Yeah this tune needs vox. it's served on a platter; for a great vocalist. great work, great songwriting Big R. 2:51 is Minneapolis sound all the way with that synth glissando downwards. D#. Same Key That Human (Human League) is in song written by JJ, and TL. Losing Prince must have been a shock to you my friend as us all. I really enjoyed this
Cru
Cru, Many you are on point with your comments. The Minneapolis, Prince, JJ and TL, Human League all played a part in how I play. I didnt know that JJ and TL were a huge influence on your songwriting but glad to know that. I play by ear so I dont really know what chords I am playing but it sounds good to me :) The strings are 100% Prince style to me. I've been a little down every since Prince died and had to throw those mellotone violins\strings in this track in respect to Prince. Thanks Cru for your sharing you thoughts and comments. I'm amazed at music knowledge.
Love this. Guitar is thrash worthy but the vox effects and stereo seperation is awesome. This defines the Rust Belt with a dark cynicism of America without question!!!
Cru
Thank you for the kind words man! I really enjoy creating this style of music so I think its time for me to release an EP of this kind of stuff. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!
Ahh you're one of my favourites on this site and I look forward to new releases from you, that being said; this is creative as anything I've heard lately. you have a nice touch with Re-verbed FM synth sounds.
Always a fan
Cru
Hey how about responding to the "Thousand Pieces" of people liking your stuff 2 to 3 yrs ago and ...nothing.

Welcome back.. I guess?
Cru
Hey, I like the tropical feel. 1:14 seems out of place beat wise and I think it's the gain difference. Also the drops are way too prevalent. Don't get me wrong I liked what you did, but the mastering is so disparate that It made the track sound disjointed in parts. I remember doing something equivalent on my tune
"Dancing with the war drums" when I went to a quiet piano part. I had to totally remix that after everyone explained that it was too much of a contrast. But this is a cool tune so keep at it my friend.
Cru
Trippy Tune, esp the intro. good mixing, song is missing a groove to glue it all together with it's trippiness. Keep working on this one it's not finished yet.
Cru
Song is great, but the mixing and production is a wow from me. Sax sounded like it was coming in from behind me at some points. All instruments were clear and perfectly mixed. The drums sounded awesome. Mix is as clear as some Yello albums I have heard.
Cru
Thanks alot, Cru. Scott mixed this track and he's been working with 5.1 surround sound within his Sonar DAW. We appreciate you mentioning this, since it let's us know we're on the right track.
