I thought I'd review this, Haven't heard any of your stuff before. The intro was great, nice blend of synths, drums, and of course the vocals. The bass was nice and deep, really liked the chorus synthline, really nice take on an already good track!

Fav'd, this sounds very professional and really well produced.

on What Is Love by Fresco
The piano sounded awesome, really nice remix, the only one I've found of this song. Sounds really different to the original, but I like the fact you kept the original melodies as putting in the rapping.

Great track!

on Above the clouds by DeejayDo
Really nice intro beautiful pads, great work with that introduction there, and the kick is at a perfect level to the rest of the track.

The only suggestions I can make is maybe increase the volume on the hat slightly, but apart from that this is a flawless song.

Nice work!

Fav'd

I can't let FLStudioMusic be the only listener/reviewer can I?

Any ways, I love the guitar and the trumpet, they both sound fantastic, I can see why everyone is glad to have you back. I also really liked the FX at 38 seconds in (the one where the pitch goes down).

Really good drumloops, scratches and melodies make this a fav from me.

Welcome back to looperman! Glad to see you back on the bottom.

I liked the strings at the start, great drumloop in there as well. I haven't listened to much grime before, but I reckon I will do now :P.

I think you need to start the Grime logbook, as nomad mentioned already.

I liked the drumloop, nice work there with that. The sounds all flow together really nicely, and I really like the bass! I fully agree with Ensam that the track won't let you go until the end, it did the same for me :P

on Eye for and Eye Studio Ready Feat Farisha by phantomhim
I'm not too sure about the scratches in the start. I think you should remove them and recycle them into another track, but the piano and rapping was fantastic, and I liked the drumloop. The chorus sounded great, and all in all this is a great track, the vocals are really clear, you can hear every single word in it, something I still cant do really.

Awesome track! Fav'd

Thanks Ste, much appreciated mate. Really like the track you posted today too. Maybe you're right about the scratching, few people have said that now. I'll re-think it.

Nice to see you've updated the track, it still sounds great, I'm still loving the rhodes and the way the vocals fit around it, as I've said before. I think that the sax solo was amazing, I'm glad that you managed to get in touch with slap, because he just made an amazing song even better.

I would say that I'd add it to my faviroutes, but its already on it.

Very nice work, the saxaphone really works well with the song.

Nice samples from 300 in there, and just ignore skope. I liked the wobble as well, maybe add a little more reverb to the drums, see how that sounds, then it will sound even better!

Nice collab you got here, the rapping is great, you know I like your acapellas, and I think this is one of your best raps yet, it really fits with the rest of the song. Also, nice profile pic/potential album cover, forgot to mention on the thread.

Awesome collab!

on Taste the Cake by RayKoefoed
The video was great for this track, do you still play gmod ray? Cos I'd like to talk to you on it sometime.
The lyrics are great, must have taken ages to do and I think this is probably the best tribute to portal thats out there.. its the only reason at the moment I miss my xbox (because I can no longer play portal) The chorus singing is great, and it sounds like one of the turrets. I like the part about the companion cube, that was my faviroute line in the song.

I also said a great comment to you about it on youtube, congrats by the way for having over 1 million views on the video.

I favourited this one because you must have spent a ton of effort on this track, plus more for the video.

Ste :)

RayKoefoed replied Unknown
Thanks a lot Stephen. I haven't done much with gmod lately. In fact, I don't even have any of my HL2 stuff on my PC anymore. I have kind of been trying to move on to making original cut out type animations to avoid the copyright issues with machinima videos. I am sure it would be fun to hang out with you in the game, but the truth is that I never set up the Steam friend thing. I only played it off line to avoid all of the extra addons uploaded from other people that would have slowed things down worse then they already are.

Thanks again for the very nice review and comment on YouTube. Feel free to send a friend invite to me there if we aren't already friends on YT.

on Hello Guildford Hello London Final demo by phantomhim
First off, I'd like to say, again, that I hope you keep posting, and also I'm sorry for not reviewing earlier, I have been lazy for way too long.
The strings at the start sound very nice, kinda reminds me of a movie, not too sure which one though. The string loop and trumpet were both great, and I'm impressed with the vocals! Drumloop was nice as well, and the lyrics could easily be heard and understood well. I'm adding this one to my faviroutes for sure, this song is a great acheivment, but way too short! You need to be discovered, and fast, because this is good hip-hop and people need a break from soulja boi, seriously.

Again, I hope you keep posting stuff, but if you don't, just remember how amazing I think this song is.

on In My Head Jason Derulo Parody by StephanieKay
Nice parody, I knew it would be funny as I loved the Kesha one. Funny lyrics, nice work, I gotta be honest I hate Jason Derulo for making Imogen Heaps hide and seek unlistenable.

"my doctors dont know what to say" That was my favourite line :P

on Made to be Broken by Marius9
The piano right at the start was great, and so was Neos imagery. Very well composed, the strings were full of emotion, you've done a really good job on this song, I find it difficult to keep a changing melody going throughout a song, and some of the piano slides were absolutley stunning!

Beautiful, just needs some rain effects over the top and a decent movie director and you've got the job!

But in all seriousness, this is a beautiful track, and I'm really impressed with what you've done here. A faviroute from me.

on Autotune is My Love Kesha Parody by StephanieKay
Nice vocal spewing... This actually sounds a lot like Kesha, You vomit with autotune.. during recording yesterday, I did a vocoded sneeze.

This is acrually has quite a big potential about if the lyrics were changed.. but I wouldn't like it then.

Nice parody! I think comedy would have been a better genre, because the vomiting made me laugh loads!

Ste :P

haha i know, i don't have the luxury of a soundproof room so you could hear my sister and mom talking in the background while i was recoring and my sister sneezed and yelled whore really loud in the other room and when i played it back though autotune i almost peed my pants...it was soo funny

on The Examined Life by n0mad23
The drumloop and sound choice at the start were great. And I like that sitar-ish synth/sound that comes in at 0:35. This definatley has a sort of African style to it- I'm geussing thats because of the drums. The bass guitar is also really good.

I'm really impressed with this song, I like what you've done with all the sounds, too many for me to count :P

Ste :)
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
Hey Ste! I'm quite pleased with the percussion here, and learned a lot about bridging a Dub aesthetic with a more traditional one. No African drums were abused in this recording, but I think my childhood influence does shine through. I guess that's what happens when exposed to W. African drums at an impressionable age! The sitar like sound is an Indian/Persian instrument called a santur that's a bit like a hammered dulcimer but I've manipulated the sound to nearly beyond recognition. I'm really pleased you hear a sitar like sound behind it as that's basically what I was going for - at least the impression of that sound. More hybrid fusion to be sure. Thanks for the kind words here!

on Overreacting by DeepMan
The rhodes at the beginning were fantastic! The kick is a little too punchy, maybe lower the frequency and the distortion, The vocals really work well with the song, and I'm definatley not giving you the silent treatment here! I like this, its very relaxing, and I'm seeing an improvement in your work.

A Faviroute for sure!

on Scanner by Cybertooth
I agree that this song has a great atmosphere. The pads are fantastic, I can tell that you've mixed this in to your own style, this is a darker sort of trance. The drumloops are definatley something I've seen in your tracks before, mixed into something else which is different to what you normally make.
Definatley has something to it which I like. Nice work Cyber.

Ste :)

good to hear that from you, absent mindedly with the drums i guess, and this was meant to be so much darker... but my synthesis hit a block, someday ill finish this song in the way i wanted, but this one is good for now

on Never Again by Spivkurl
The drumloop in the beggining was great, the growly bass was great, and I liked the high noize, not too sure if this is trance, but I'm not too sure what it would go under so I can't say anything there really. I also really liked the way that the release with the high noize was different on one note, and the pads were great!

Ste :)

I like the intro, thought the kicks needed to have a little more distortion on them though, but the way everything flows together is fantastic, and I like the breathing samples a lot! The build where the drums went out was awesome, and you have definatley got a talent for house music! Nice Job!

OK, lets try this again..

This review is gonna be short, because I just typed it up once and I don't fancy typing it all again. Everything seems to flow really well, and the electric guitar and piano worked really well.
