Description : This is my first song I ever made using Pro Tools and a Sony Sample Loop CD. I use a Korg Karma Workstation keyboard as a 'trigger device' and add in some subtle parts here and there with it.
There probably aren't very many country type songs on this site, but hey...variety is the spice of life. So basically this only about 2 minutes long and is an upbeat type of song that might make a good dance tune?
I am working on a slow Blues type of tune and will upload that in a couple weeks.

    Hi there PikeNinja,

Thanks for taking a listen to one of my country tunes. I am glad you enjoyed it.

I have a couple fairly new country tunes up with one that has 'chicken pickin' in it if your interested and the last one was actually a Waltz with my pedal steel.. Really cool stuff and not so easy to play.

Right now I am concentrating on a Rock-Crunch type of tune.
I'll check out your music and well and leave feedback.

    Hello there Acrylic!
Thanks a lot for stopping by and giving a listen to my first country tune which was pretty short.

I had a lot of enjoyment doing that tune while I was learning my Pro Tools software. I am glad you liked it as well, even tho it may not be your cup of tea.
The last country tune I made has much more of the same, but more instruments, plus Cajun music you may or may not enjoy listening to.

I'll take a listen to one of your tunes while I am on line and give you a review back as well.
    Thanks again,
    Randy

I love country music as that is basically where my roots are.

I am working on another one now featuring a nuber of instruments, including some Cajun fiddle music thrown in.
    Thanks again,

    Hi Voltage,
Thanks again for reviewing this song. This was my first creation with using software as mentioned in the heading. I found later that my master volume wasn't up to red book code, so I have since fixed that and some other minor levels, but I didn't repost the song is all.

Am glad you liked it as I enjoyed making it. I don't sing so I am afraid all my songs will be instrumentals. Most complain that it was too short, so I try and make subsequent songs near the 3 min. length at least.

Yah... Nothing is wrong with your playing
this mix is cool.. how it started out sedated and then BAM!

    IS THIS ALL YOU!!!??

wow... Great all round... Lyrics, because country music is like the beatles on STERIODS to me.. if you get over the fact that it is throaty and twangy and slidey..

Man that is cool. It is straight up air in the hair country.

I like this.. I like country.

I love metal more.. but wow..

If you had lyrics with content, you would have a job here!

    Favorotisnashion and downloading now.
I have a country song in that goes Bminor, with a cool C chord embelishment to A major with embelishment, and when you have some time, I want to send it to you....

    Hi there,
Thanks for the kind review and am glad you also like country music. Basically I am using Windows XP and not a MAC. Altho a lot of people do use MACS for graphics and music.

I am playing all the parts except drums and fiddle. I used loops for those. But, I play and own all the other instruments as shown in my profile.
Sure you can send me that song you have and I'll see what I can do with it when I get some free time. As long as your not in a big hurry I mean.

In another song I did...Altern-rock, now that was all loops. But the other songs are me playing and ocassionally some help on the faster guitar parts from a friend.
I know that if I had a good vocalist, things would sound so much better.
    Thanks again,
    Randy

Into this genre for various reasons, but I could def see this being played at a Country/Western joint. I'm thinkin it'd be better if this were being performed live as opposed to being cranked outta some jukebox, but there I could also see it being played out of some old Transistor style radio.

And with that I am reminded of those Mom & Pop type mini-marts that double as the area's grocery store. The kind that's clustered in together with a gas/service station and laundry mat. The kind that has that certain smell in 'em from age and the variety of things that go on there. Kinda like a mix of dust, motor oil, cleaning products, and fried food all rolled into one. Lates!

    Hi Donnie,
I am sorry, I didn't get any notice that you had left me a review. So now I am here replying to another fellows review, and I see your review.

I'll agree that this type of song would be great as a live performance as there is a lot going on, and it is fun to watch people play.

So thanks for listening and reviewing my first uploaded song. Hopefully all the rest of my songs will get better even, as I learn this software pgm.
    Thanks again,
    Randy

I appreciate your review of the country song. Yeah...I am kinda old, but healthy and will keep playing as long as my mind stays together! (ha)

I just bought a newer Dobro, so hopefully I can add more of that type sound to my songs, and keep up the quality I want.
Some of the faster guitar playing parts I can't do well, so I use sample/loop disk to help out....and often I play a part real slow when I am learning it, and then record it and then set the tempo to normal so ALL the parts fit together.

Sometimes I make up my own drum sets or use drums sets from Betamonkeymusic.com.
I have several big programs that have many drums sets in them, so I pick and choose which program I want to use...or...I make them up on my Korg Karma Keyboard unit if I can't find exactly what I want and don't want to go searching.
    Thanks again for your review,
    Randy

    Hi Slap,
Thanks for the review. This was the first song I ever did using combos of loops and my varied instrument talents. I am happy that you liked the song and it brought some good pictures in your mind. :-)
Since I am new to all this way of making music, it takes me awhile to produce.
    More to come soon.....

This brought back memories. I grew up around country/gospel/folk music. Usually played by a pickup jug band. Us kids got to start with the jugs, washboards, kazoos, comb & waxpaper and the jaw harps. I didn't progress past the jaw harp. Wish now, I'da paid more attention. I like, keep'em comin. Moke.

    Thanks again...more coming!

Thanks Planetjassbass for the nice comments. I love upbeat country style music, as I grew up with country music all around me since I can remember. I recall my mother taking me to square dances when I was maybe 3-4 years old, as a babysitter wasn't always readily available, and just sitting there listening to it all.
Of course, that was old time country. Still it had a big influence on me going forward. In the next few days, I hope to get more of a chance to listen to many of the artist here, including your songs, and give feedback. :-)
I'll make more country music. Working on a Blues song now. Thanks again...

Description : Here attached is a new country tune I put together using several loops I bought off a disk set. I call it 'Old Tyme Country' as it is close to being Bluegrass as well. (Bluegrass usually has a Mandoline, Fiddle and a 5-string Banjo, and a rhythm guitar at least).

This instrumental features no guitars or regular drums. Rhythm here is provided by a Dulcimer, a Shaker and a drum like instrument called a Djembe. (An instrument from Africa, looking like a tall Bongo drum)

An acoustic stand-up Bass is used along with a 4 string Banjo, and the Fiddle is the main instrument.
Put all these together and this is the sound you can have. Hope you'll like it.

Description : Hi ya,

Well, here is my latest country tune...called "Welcome to Nashville". It is an instrumental. Maybe someone will add vocals to it? Also I added a screenshot of the 'ProTools' program I used to put the song together so you can see what it looks like with in a software program as completed.

The song is uptempo featuring an acoustic guitar for rhythm, also an electric rhythm guitar doing more of a vamping sound to add in fill to the overall rhythm.

Also has lead guitar which is quite busy throughout, and Drums, Bass, fiddle and pedal steel round out the song.

Hope you like it.

Description : Just a simple country waltz featuring a number of instruments, and the main instrument...Pedal Steel guitar. Not an easy instrument to play and certainly not a cheap instrument to buy. Decent new ones start out at around $2,500, but like everything else, if you have the desire, 'you can do it'.
Drums, Fiddle are sample loops. Contains 2 rhythm guitars..one with tremelo. Piano, and the usual Lead, Bass guitar.
Near the end.....they all play at once together.

Also contains Pedal Steel, Mandolin and piano. So give it a listen and comment if you want to.
