Description : Greets again. This was somethin I did about a month ago for a project in my Basic Speaking/Listening class. Pertaining to my Informative speech topic- Digital Audio Workstations & Productions. Since my time was limited the teacher suggested that I make a 30 second song for the class (I shot a lil past that making it 46 seconds)...-...-... I'm putting this one in Fusion, because I tried creating a song that everyone in the class would enjoy (blending orchestral/cinematic strings at the intro/outro with breakish electro beats, ambient bass, progressive guitars, and digitized vocals by yours truly- that I'll prolly add to my loops here later).
UPDATE- I've gone and reworked this piece, extending it out to just over 4 minutes. This is like a love letter to my favorite movie of all time, Tron. As well as a nod to the new film coming out Friday... Who else is going to see it? All of the vocals are me (with various effects thrown on). I may go n tweek this mix later, dunno. At the mo' I'm gonna go with this vers just to see what others think of it. Alright, well I'm headin off now. Enjoy!

This track evokes so much imagery, I would be tempted to call it cinematic. This is only enhanced by the variation in mood you bring about withe changes in instrumentation you make. Vox doesn't hurt either :-)

Really nice listen, well enjoyed

Cinematic might be a fair categorization, because this was made for both a general audience (the class) and was a large homage to the film, Tron. Funny thing that, because I have the most fun doing tracks like these (maybe its in my blood). Glad ya dug it. Later on!

Man, you come from the other side of the street with your musical thoughts, haha. I don't really think I could produce something like this, I just don't think this way, ha. It's very creative with a cool intro. Nice breaks and the intro and voice samples in the track worked nicely with this. Your synths are too cool. The arrangement is well thought out and interesting for sure.

I don't isten to much music like this but this was a treat!

Great job D!!

Naw mate. Nothing really radical needed for something like this. Just laid another idea (the new Tron movie) on top of the first one (class assignment). Try it with one of your own projects some time.
Meanwhile, the original theme (orchestral-breaks) stayed constant all throughout. In fact, the Tron thing came about via the intro vox I did months ago (dunno why I made 'em back then, but they sure came together with the film nod idea). So I just threw in a few more voc-sams in to act as sequence breaks. Which I was kinda iffy on (the overly deliberate breaks between), but I said whatev and ran with it. Glad ya dug it mate. Later on!

I'm lovin the groove on this one! Had to listen a second time! I like the bass a lot, and those strings are awesome! Those digitized vocals are interesting, do they say something? Really nice work!

Yeah, it's groove reflects my wanting to attract the members of that class to get interested in DAWs and music production. I rolled the vox myself one morning before class (I believe I used two channels of autotuned effects... I'd haveta look, haha). And they say- "Break it down" & "Break". Glad ya dug it. Later on!

Yeah, for a school project this was one of the shorter things I've had to do. Truth be told I would've loved to have this playin for the entire speech. As for the other, nada prob mang. Figure it'd be fun for others to play with. Glad ya dug it. Lates!

Wow top notch mix of style with the orchestral and breakbeat, cool beat as well. Would love to hear this fleshed out to like 3 or 4 minutes, just as it started it ended, bummer -haha I know it had to be 30 seconds but damn you are on to something with this one, If you feel the urge this would be a great full length track indeed. I'm off to check out your other stuff. Nice work. Cheers!

I hear ya mate. I've been tempted to pick this one up to stretch it out some more. As I said somewhere else here, when you listen to this on repeat it just keeps comin at ya- your mind tends to get lost with it the first several times. And even if I don't, I'm super stoked to find a successful blend of those styles. Glad ya dug it. Lates!

This is very cool for several reasons. The fusion of several different traditions WORKS. Seriously, what about orchestral/cinematic strings suggests any kind of compatibility with breakbeats? It's a bit like examining hydrogen and oxygen independently and somehow predicting water in their union.

I also love that it's a total subversion of the academic model (says the recovering English prof). You've taken a text based class (grapholectic or print tech) and done a project based on orality/aurality. See how cool that is?

I love your bass lines. I need to revisit your loops and look through these in particular. I'd have given you a 4.0 for this one - hope your teacher did!

Sorry mate, these weren't ones I uploaded (though I could email 'em to ya if ya wanted me to). Alright, as for the track- It's fun sometimes to just throw things together to see what they sound like. The strings were actually the 3rd element (4th thing) added to the song. And they worked like a charm oddly enough. As for college- eh, I'm currently torn. There are elements of it that I love and others that I had (the class number hints at one of them). All of that would best be saved for an email I suppose (so if interested, there ya go). Back to the song- glad ya dug it. Lates!

Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^

================

The song feels to me a bit like it could be on stage in a musical. It's a bit theatrical... I like it, but the next one might well be a rock song ;)

All instruments & vocals recorded live at home, without samples.

Description : Hello, everyone!
This one is a bit special because it's not one of my loops, it's jdmax121's loop " Dreamy ".
I loved it so much that I had to make something out of it. It will probably end up being on my upcoming EP.
If you liked it, or not, please let me know!
Have a nice day.

Description : Psychedelic Eastern cellhop progressing into a heavy and not at all hip hop ending. Lots of cool basslines and killer beats, all at 80 BPM. Cello is the main instrument and it also covers all the bass parts (no other bass instruments used). I didn't have to add any octave lowering effects to those cello basslines. A few synths, including a dark, trippy pad that gets very psychedelic and swirling when delay and distortion are added. Also a lyre to occasionally add an Eastern drone sound and an 8bit lead sine synth in one section. Drums are mixture of programmed acoustic kits and drum loops. You can really bounce to this shit while firing your guns in the air. So, do that and then come back and let me know if you enjoyed it. Criticism, praise, suggestions etc all welcome. Now get ready to bounce...

Description : Return To Forever was a group that started my love of fusion jazz and this is my attempt to cover their 1976 track, “The Romantic Warrior. I know I wore out several inceptions of this album from LP, cassette and 8 track. The original track was over 10 minutes long, so I abridged it some. Hope you like and download.
