Description : Umm, I guess it could be considered Fusion since I mixed Funk Bass with Rock Drums, and Folk-like Guitar with some dreamy pads to round out the mix.
And this, my friends is a tribute to all of the great stuff that came from the original Nintendo (and in some ways is a nod to some of my friends on here).
I finally geeked out goin to town with some Midi loops.

The Bass comes from Arkanoid, the Guitars come from Metroid, the Pads come from Zelda II, and anyone care to guess where I got the Drums from? Come on, it's today's Daily Double. Bonus points are through the roof, haha.
Anyways, I hope yall dig my latest... Creation? It was really fun to mess with ('til the end when the final Pad loop didn't want to fade out right away, grrr). Off for now.

PV/TC,
Me.
PS. Feel free to remix or mix this one yall!
PPS. It sounds better out of headphones.

Unique piece, very trippy.... at times a bit disconcerting, but strangely appealling.

Lol, Sounds good Donnie. You got me stumped with the origin of the drums. Its driving me crazy please tell me where they came from. I would fail if this was the daily double. We should definatly work on some 8 bit stuff together. That would be cool!

As for the drums, haha, I aint sayin here (remind me to tell you in an email sometime, cool). As for collabin on a game track just lemme know what you were thinking and we'll see what we can do (though I'd prefer to roll one from scratch, ya know, easier that way I think). Glad ya dug it. Later on!

Being a fusion lover myself, I love this track. Awesome time-sigs. The fading was great as well. Really like that the bassline and drums stay the same, and the overlaying arrangements keep changing.

I hear ya. Ironically, the bass was like the first thing I edited for this and what kinda caused it all. The drums came next and honestly, I felt like this would be fine with just those, but it woulda been sorta flat. So I added the other stuff.
And isn't fusion great? Glad ya stopped by. Later on!

Coolness D...love the way you've got it fading in and out..sorta like scenes in a movie...methinks you and I should do more of these 8-bit tracks...maybe even team up on one once I'm back up to full speed...anyway, nice concept, keep it fresh brother...

Okies mate, sounds like a solid plan to me. Just shoot me some specifics of what yer wanting to do and we'll see if we can't bang one out.
Oh, and the concept came from all of those game remixes they've got out there. I stopped and thought- you know what, I've never heard a mash-up type of mix before. Glad ya dug it. Later on!

The drums sound familiar I have to say but I couldn't point them out.

The cross fading? Is that just because it is kind of different songs with similar element. Is that an acoustic guitar sample or a harp sample? Well whatever it is it is not in the same key as the bassline. Oh DubzOnFire mentioned this.... Well I would definitly turn it into one song all in the same key.

Great track!

Oh by the way...

I have a working NES, great game system!

Yeah, I do too!
& a Game Boy Pocket (don't really mess with 'em though).
It's a Guitar sound font that I use (it's just that some of the notes are highly placed, kinda like how you can get Guitar-like sounds if you play a Bass down near the bottom of the neck).
As for the c-fades, haha, I do that in almost all of my songs lil bro.
And is the off key thing really that bad or is it the musician in you taking the helm on that judgment? Later on!

its ok but the pads, bass and wotever the other thing is are all in different keys so it makes it sound like a bad dj mix in places

DonnieVyros replied Unknown
Sup Dubz,
Yer actually not too far off. They aren't all matched up. The Guitar are in G, the bass is dropped down to E, and the Pads are in B. Maybe what I should've done is mod the Pads up one key to C to give the whole thing a C minor feel.
As for the other, I wasn't really thinkin about makin a solid mix. I kinda wanted to give it a free-form vibe. For that, I'm gonna recommend that ya listen to a few live groups of musicians. When yer there long enough you'll hear 'em go crazy at one point and each'll kinda do their own thing. Thanks for the input. Later on!

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.

Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^

Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.

After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …

Description : Messing around with my midi keyboard (I am no pianist as you will hear). Just a bunch ideas put together with guitar and keys. Don't miss the end :-) it shows the obvious lack of inspiration to find a decent ending of the so called musician! This track is work in progress all ideas are welcome!
