Description : On this one I got up the nerve to break away from the horn loops that I relied heavily on. Tada! I played the brass parts on keys and Im too excited. Had to call in the keyboardist heavyweight JYNXZ to lend his expert support on the B3. I also beefed up and refined the drum mix and added some mastering improvements. Please let me know your thoughts on this improved version.

Some people just got it. Then some people GOT IT GOT IT, this is where you fit in. you have raised my motivation to an all time high Mark. Thank you for that last email. I appreciated it. I have been letting it marinate. Then I listen to this one that I missed and realize I'm going to have to go in to my old man music vault and pull out some STUFF on you. LOL. Thank you Mark for understanding. Will email or call soon.

Bill thanks for the visit. On the motivation point, the trait of true musical brotherhood is that we motivate each other. And we avoid the politics of not sharing that fact. You are extremely motivating and your gift is second to none. Yep definitely get at me and well Keep It Moving. The comments and compliments are received graciously.

I came back just for seconds, thirds, and fourths! I haven't gone to my favorite jazz haunt in many months, and this is the closest I can get to it, for now. Thanks so much, Jazz King of Looperman!

Well, if people don't know about MARK the Jazzmaster they better ask somebody!...flipping hell I literally just lay down on my beautiful wooden floor with my lovely scatter cushions, got comfy & closed my eyes and just listened to this whole remarkable jazziness what a trip! seriously, I'm floored by this tasty composition, I think you know by now my friend I say what I mean and mean what I say & not afraid to give credit where it's due. yeah, how did I miss this one, my friend? that bass and percussion was almost giving me an udu drum-like feel. In my mind, I was substituting that percussion as I listened. That sax @ 1;46 was perfect. You have a great sense of percussion placement and I appreciate that about your work. I would love to hear a remix of your work incorporating some world instruments as I just think it would add to the flavour of the brew you have been concocting. Food for thought ehh?

    Reply by kingmt77

cru, Thanks. I was already thinking about world percussion in the mix so I'm on it. I appreciate your constructive feedback and ideas, by them I know I'm hitting the mark. I completely love the sax here too. Be cool.

    Reply by kingmt77

Ok, the list of VST instruments, Drums, Superior Drummer 3, the piano, and organ is Korg Kronos. I wrote and composed all of the midis. Peace.

Very nice. I like that you manage to find unorthodox complexity within a 4/4 context, and I think everyone could use more yazz flute.

What services, if any, do you use to get horn solo clips?

    Reply by kingmt77

bringer, greetings my dude! You know in my sleep I'm dreaming all sorts of odd and strange things about making 4/4 pop. And a good flute riff is always appropriate I feel. Those types of Sax samples that fit so well in this composition I can only find when I'm not looking for them lol. The saxes are courtesy of Splice and Hip Hop Lounge Saxes and I did the arrangement for this piece but you know that already :) I got the email from you. I'll take a listen in a little bit. Be safe and stay warm, cause it's snowing here.

This is one of the MOST brilliant pieces of music to come out of Looperman in a very long time. This is what I call cerebral jazz--it's not just something you listen to, but rather it's also music that beckons you to contemplate every note and nuance. Were this track was for sale, I would have gladly paid the price. Well, done, sir!

    Reply by kingmt77

Mykael, it's an immense and humbling honor for you to have a listen and really enjoy this tune. Thank you for your kind comments. Description : This song highlights a few different styles of jazz. First it starts with a kinda early 20s and 30s groove. Than it melds into a New Orleans style. Than into a sort of Maynard Ferguson big band jazz/rock groove, and finishing off with the 20s and 30s style again, all held together with some cool horns and bass. All n all, it's...Pretty Cool! Hope you like

Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D

Description : Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This particular piano arrangement is from one of jazz sheet piano books I found on scribd. The electric piano is MrRay22 plugin which I played on Casio CDP220 digital piano. This is also a new piece that I learned today so it was quite tricky to get a proper touch at places and overall make the entire thing sound anywhere realistic. I tried many times and this was probably the best take. Also I am relatively new to playing latin piano music. I didn't manipulate any notes after recording - instead I added few virtual vintage amps. I choose jazz but it is a bossa nova latin style. Enjoy and feel free to comment and download.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
