Listen To Barbara Meets Burt Jazz Song By WatayaandBobo At Looperman.com

24th Apr 2025 11:12 - 11 months ago
Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.

That's a great track mixing old time song with more modern sounds. The lo-fi brings you back in time immediately and triggers your nostalgia! thank you for the great work, kudos to all smoky musicians involved!

Wataya, what can I say. His mind works in strange ways even when he isn't stoned.

I think I should also use some more herbs :-) But that would be "for your eyes only" If Barbara remembers that song :-) You all did a wonderful job with that song and Rasputin is a big player in the loops section always worth a listen. Cheers, Oli

Hello WatayaandBobo, enjoyed this slow and jazzy version of this classic song, reminds me of the smoke filled smoke clubs of yesterday.....great vocals and nice laidback music in the background. Real nice track.

Thanks Glenn, thanks so much for listening and commenting. Yes, feels like some late night cabaret to me too, after a doobie and a good whiskey. Cheers Bobo

This is so sweet - Rasputin's piano fits in there like a glove and the female, pulled back vocal seals the deal

WatayaandBobo replied 24th Apr 2025 - 11 months ago
It does! I believe Wataya only dropped the vocal by maybe a semi tone and the timing not at all. Pretty weird eh.

You guys go a long time between drinks and always come up with something unexpected - Im not sure whether you should keep on or stay off the grass - at any rate this is a gorgeous reimagining of an old classic, though in the past I would have said my fav version was from the carpenters - not any more : )

Kids, the only thing I have to say about the wacky backy is this: don't play on artificial grass.

Nice work for a couple of wasters. Wataya's stoned instincts were spot on, even if he was being ironic?!

Hi Zoot, no I believe Wataya was serious. He really does believe in the power of peace, love and kindness. As I do. Cheers Bobo.

Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
