Very glad to hear that you are back at it. I totally understand life sometimes getting in the way of making music. Happens to me all the time! But, music always pulls me back it seems. Can be frustrating, but very therapeutic. Somebody, don't remember who, said that music is a medium where you can tell how the artist/composer was feeling at the time the piece was created. No so sure that applies to a lot of EDM, but it is basically true I think. :)
Hey, Eazybeats. I've listened to several of your tracks this evening. Quite a varied repertoire! One thing that particularly impressed me about this track is the really excellent mix. You have kept lots of dynamic range, and I notice that many of your tracks also have been done that way. You've got the instruments nicely separated in the frequency spectrum - everything has its place. I don't know if you had to work on this a lot, but the overall sound of the track is excellent. Very nice work! And, thanks for introducing me to Cestevens. I hadn't come across her tracks before. Wasn't able to find AnnaYvette on Looperman. Is she a member?
Thank you EricMilligan for that very descriptive paragraph on me. You read me like a book so quick. lol. Even got me down to the "T". :) Stay blessed -EazyBeatz . P.s Anna Yvette is not a member. you can def. find her through the net tho!! :)
This might be my favourite. Really, really nice vocals. You have a good ear for melody and your delivery is very expressive. Have you left Looperman for good? Gone to another site? Your tracks a really very good. I hope you haven't stopped making music. That would be a shame.
Hello and thank you! No I haven't left looperman. I've been kind of in a funk for a bit but I have been working on something new the last week, testing the waters again. Might take a while ha, but thank you again. I appreciate it.
Charlene: Just discovered your tracks. Don't know how I managed to miss them for all these years. This is a great track. I've listened to most of yours tonight and you really do have a good sense of how to put stuff together. But, most of all, I like your vocals. You can really sing! I think it is unfortunate that you seem to have drifted away from Looperman. There are so few really good vocalists here. You would be in great demand for collaborations I think.
Hello again :) I wouldn't mind colabs but I always steared away from that because really I don't have the proper equipment and I really don't know what I'm doing I just throw things together and post them on here for the most part. I did drift away for a bit but it's been a rough year but as I mentioned in the last comment I'm getting back into it :)
"Please don't think that I am dismissing you right of the bat. It's something i will think about."
Not at all, TA. I totally get it. I've got quite a stockpile of tracks that are as "finished" as I was able to get them, but that might or might not benefit from adding something more. I suspect that when, as is your case, you have lyrics for a song, it is more likely that you will have said everything you want to say in the song, and adding more could just detract from it. Most of the tracks I do never get bounced out of Logic. Those that do get bounced I put into a playlist in my iTunes library (not published on iTunes) and I go back and listen to some of them periodically just to see if I'm inspired to tackle them again. So, far, revisiting old tracks is a rarity for me. So, yes, I completely understand your point. I'm just glad you didn't take offence at my comment. Was worried you might misinterpret it as a criticism, rather than a vote of confidence. :)
Very nice song. You do really good vocals. Not sure if you actually sound like Jim Morrison, but your voice has a very nice quality and it shows on this track.
There are some things I'd revisit in the arrangement, but I have to say that the modulation to F# minor at 1:23 really took me by surprise and and it was great! I also like the way you built up the track as it progressed, adding more and more to enrich the sound.
My final parting comment on this track is that this is very, very good, but it left me wanting more of a good thing. I think you should seriously consider extending the song and working up additional section(s) with a different chord sequence (i.e., a chorus, perhaps a bridge).
I'm not sure what the sequence should be (I would never have thought of the modulation to F#-) but to maintain interest, it should not repeat the pattern of shifting down and up a major second interval, which is the main sequence found in both the sections of the song now.
EDM can often get by with little variation in chord sequences throughout the entire track. In fact, that's often a key feature of EDM tracks and I guess that's part of what makes them effective for dance music. But, this track of yours is definitely not run-of-the-mill EDM.
Of course, I'm not one to talk. In my tracks, I rarely get past just doing verses. :)
Anyway, this track has so much potential I just had to encourage you to develop it further.
Hi Eric. First of all, thank you for your detailed response. It's always encouraging to know that someone has engaged with the music enough to elicit a constructive response. Secondly, I too have thought about the potential that the song could have in a longer format. However, I don't know if I can do the rest of the song justice by extending it. Sometimes you make a song and you get to a point where you've said everything you have to say. Anything I add might actually reduce the songs impact as a whole.
Please don't think that I am dismissing you right of the bat. It's something i will think about. maybe i will revisit it later with fresher ears and get some inspiration. Maybe I'll just keep it as it is. Who knows what the fickle muses hold for us? Thanks again man.
So, TA, I haven't listened to all of your tracks, but so far this may be my favourite. Not that I don't like your vocals. I really like them a lot. But I think this track actually could handle vocals as well. Might need to scale back a bit on the dynamics, but I "heard" vocal melody lines in my head as I listened to it. Very nice indeed!
I really liked this track! Whether or not you win Brado's contest, this is a fine piece of work. Very intricate production. I thought the mix was excellent, by the way. Nice side chain work. I learned how to do that in my PointBlank courses, but have never actually used the technique. Now I forget how. :)
Well, Brado. I said it before last January and I'm happy to repeat it. You and your friend have made a beautiful piece of music here. Thanks for the download. We've got a Christmas playlist at our house of pretty traditional Christmas songs. Been adding to it for probably 20 years. Everything from Bing Crosby, to Nat King Cole, to Amy Grant, Vince Gill, and now you.
Very, very nice, Timmons2! I'm sitting in my swivel chair in my home studio, bopping back and forth to this track. Nice simple arrangement. Very tasteful. Mix is very clean and the guitar works perfectly I think. You've done a great job with this track. On my playlist for sure! :)
Wow, Jody! I can't believe there's only one comment so far on this track! Great track! Loved every minute of it. This is my kind of music! I just discovered (I'm embarrassed to admit my unforgivable ignorance) Go Go music from D.C. It's my new obsession. I think I heard a bit of that seeping into this track, particularly at the end with the congas. Your track just has a great, great feel to it and everything is right in the pocket. It's downloaded and on my playlist for sure. :)
the younger generation isn't into the ol'school as much, they stuck on using the 808's lol...I appreciate you listening to this track and commenting.......Have a good New Years.
Peace !
Jody
Hey, Abin. This is a really nice track. I've listened to all the tracks you've posted and this one is definitely my favourite. I prefer tracks that have good melody lines and this track is very melodic. If you don't mind me making a suggestion, I think that your tracks are better when they have greater variation in volume level. If you look at the waveform display in Looperman, some of them are solidly jammed at the peak. I think that allowing more dynamics makes things more interesting. Perhaps not for the dance floor, but I'm not sure about that because I don't DJ.
On this track, I think the vocals are a bit too prominent in the mix. If you ever decide to remix this track, I'd drop them down a wee bit so they blend in a bit more with the backing instrumental track. And, I think they need some processing, although I haven't really figured out what that should be. Maybe a bit of delay/reverb, perhaps some doubling in parts. Worth experimenting to see if anything seems to work.
But, all in all, I really liked this track and wanted to give you a thumbs-up on it. Will be interesting to see what comes from your "remix" track. I can't do vocals at all, so I won't be attempting anything on that, but I will be watching to see what you get in response.
Great track, Bleep! Loved the trumpet. Maxed out the headroom, but it sounded great on my headphones. No distortion.
I particularly liked the vocal part en francais, but that should not be a surprise. French is a very musical language. Some years ago, when i was in Paris on business, I looked for french language rap CDs, but was told that they didn't exist because French language was not a good language for rap. Never did understand that.
Thanks a lot for your positive comment. About french vocal parts, i'm surprised that french music sellers didn't find anything about french rap... that exists. However, i'm not sure french language is adapted to rap style... i prefer english language because of the roots of this genre :)
I have read about Vocaloid in the past, but have never actually heard anything produced with it. I really like this track, Eighteen. I prefer tracks with an interesting melody and you created a really nice one in this track. I'd experiment with Vocaloid myself but I'm on a Mac and I believe it is PC only. Too bad. You track, which I greatly enjoyed, makes me want to incorporate it in my music.
I did a quick research about mac and vocaloid, and it should be possible with vocaloid 3, I see for example this text: Vocaloid3 Hatsune Miku V3 by Crypton Future Media Windows, Mac OS X
hope it helps
OK, this is sounding really promising. You MUST continue with it. I really like the orchestral treatment and it has very interesting transitions. Keeps the listeners' interest. I have no idea what "future bass" is, so am going to do some research. I can never keep all the genres straight, but I know what I like and I like this a lot.
I'll definitely get the song completed, but it will take a while.
Hopefully by now you've learnt what future bass is, now that it has become more popular. It's basically more melodic trap, but it's just a broad definition. Music over genre.
Hey, Swindla! Great track. You were right. turned up the headphones and couldn't stop tapping my feel and nodding my head or whatever. Jumping around in my chair. Good thing the neighbours can't see me. Infectious is what it is. I'd love to try it out with my monitors and sub-woofer, which I rarely turn on. But for this one, I'd make an exception. :)
Thanks man, glad to hear it made you shake it..lol. The next one i drop might just set those speakers on fire....1 week...be prepared my friend.

Hey, Crypt. Greetings from Ottawa! :) Loved the track. Definitely had an 80's pop feel to it. I agree with Swindla. It did remind me of Cabaret Voltare, one of my favourites.
I can't sing at all, so would be no help on the vocals, but I agree it would be a good backing track for that. You definitely have nailed the bass and drum parts. Very nicely done.
I agree you could have mastered it a bit louder, but I just turned up the volume and it sounded great on my headphones.
Thanks for checking this song out Eric! I was in an Industrial band called Kunkokt. I have a few of the songs on here still if you want to check them out. This track here is just a one off kind of song. My plan is to pretty much continue the same style as my old band but with hopefully more eager and trustworthy people. Thanks again man!
Larry, you absolutely MUST finish this one. You really do have a great voice for R&B. Now this one, gives me a feeling of R. Kelly. And, although I don't like his really raunchy stuff too much, I think he is a great R&B artist. Personally, I'd prefer to hear more "air" in the backing track. A bit more open sounding. But, I realize this is a draft.
Hi, Larry. I noticed you left a comment on "The Law" track and realized that I hadn't listen to your stuff for a while. This is a really great track. I realize it's an oldie but a goodie, so sorry for being so late to the party. Very nice work. I think you sound a lot like Prince on this track. And, don't know how you feel about Prince, but from my point of view, that's a high compliment. I'm going to listen to a few more. Think I've been missing something. :)
OK, I will admit that I don't listen to rap much. Didn't really understand much about it until I watched Straight outa Compton. Then it really started to make a lot more sense to me. I still don't listen to much, but something made me want to listen to your track. I'm glad I did. Great lyrics. Important message. Talking about real things, important things. I liked the beat too, but you really nailed it with the lyrics. I hope it gets a lot more listens here on Looperman.
I like it, Amaranthion! You've got a good track in the making here. I'm very impressed that it is your first track ever. Nothing I did sounded even close to this when I started out. Still doesn't. :)
I don't know that Phr34kness meant when he said you should go for a progressive baseline on your first breakdown. If you understood that, please let me know in another comment. And Phr34kness, if you read this it would be great to have an explanation and perhaps you could point me to an example so I can hear what a progressive baseline is. Learn something new every day. :)
Your track definitely has a really nice, soulful vibe to it, itiyaki. You have a great voice for this kind of music I think. Yes, there's room for improvement in the arrangement and in the orchestration, but you've done a really credible job with this. Now I need to see what else you've posted to Looperman because I definitely like your work! :)
Hi Eric, thanks so much for taking time to listen. Really appreciate your feedback. :) I've yet to produce more of my own tracks but my collaborations with other musicians can be found here: https://soundcloud.com/itiyati-collabs
Really nice track! I think you've definitely landed on something special with your stripped down arrangement. Vocals are great. Lyrics are really good. Excellent work, Austinmusic!
