Bravo...this is how it should be done more often dgalantic...just the key instruments....the subtle melody that lets the mind easly absorb the whole thing...very precise and well chosen instrumentation,,...must say I enjoyed this one....visit thepart of your creative mind that did this one often & do more...its fav.....Ed
I dont know anything about Trap music arashinghbagri....but I know this is a very nice clean mix...all instruments produced clearly...and created with a good knowledge ...quite short...but well done....Keep doing your music......Ed
Any time I hear that MrFunktastic style I`m totally in the groove...The man is a big talent and a most generous friend with sharing the sound....I have to think Joe would like this one FR...its good ...some of those transitions are more like your own style (as it should be) but you def got the funk going on here...you just can`t sit still when this is going on...great job...and a fine tribute to one of our finest friends....Ed
I had logged out & was calling it a night when I happened to hit play on this one....just had to log back in to leave you a big well done Riest...I`m listening on headphones and the mix sounds good to me...nice and clean with all the dynamics (& not limited to death)....really a catchy subtle little melody...really nice choice of sounds and you kept it minimal enough so that everything pays its part well....Its good listening for my tastes...nice way to end the day for me....thanks......Ed
geez...DeLaBeatz....maybe you`ve discovered the way to get the message out...if this doesn`t get attention its gonna be hard to try and motive the bunch....creative stuff here...really like the idea of bringing in the different instrumentation...that big orchestra works great & contrasts with the synth line...takes it out of the usual...ending was a bit sudden..but I enjoyed this one....Ed
You rae off to a great start AngelDragon...big fat mix...nice and clean with all instruments right in place...I think one of the reasons why it could raise a question about 'Now what?" is that there are just so many options...Any of the individual instruments in the mix has the potention to pick up a transitional melody line & take it in whatever direction...a big sweeping angelic (but sparse) verse with just the basic orchestral instruments...violins & cellos?..stepping down to a wave of calm in contrast to the dramitic 1st section...or even take that little guitar line and make it an ambient transition....Just my off-the-top reaction...but, the main thing....keep it going...May be worth putting it away for a day or two & then revisiting....(I try to do that...but it keeps me awake at nights some times..Haha....).....It will get to the place it is supposed to be.......Ed
Thanks ED However i finished the track :3 only took 5 hours but i cleaned it up nicely and added a whole lot to it from what i posted now ( it still follows what i posted now but it sounds different) also i cleaned the track so that the bass is not overpowering the instruments nor does it have forced sound feeling also i didn't go for a BIG action piece that i usually try to go for it more like it happens but in a small time frame also i ended it is a way that kinda to me feels kinda off but works cant wait to post it tomorrow for you guys to hear its kinda my New Year track HAHA XD
build your own instrument and play your own song...I dont think you could get any more original and unique than that Spiv....(I have done it with guitars...but thats not about to produce some kind of new unheard sounds haha)...I couldn`t honestly say its my kind of music...but I just had to have a listen and pay my respects to an artist who really is an artist........Ed
Hey Ed, totally appreciate the kind comment, especially on a song that is not up your alley! I guess I've just been trying to hone my sampling chops lately, and this was a good opportunity... limiting my sound source and doing what I could with it. I love building stuff, and it seems like I create a new instrument about as often as I put out a song any more. Thank you for stopping by!
It sure is good enought to post S1lver..I was missing the bass until it hit that 2:33 mark where it fills out a lot better..a little repetative but a nice clear mix and some good uplifting music (end was a bit abrupt???)....sounds good to me....keep doing it...Ed
Yeah about that, when I mixed down the mp3 for some reason it cut off the ending. Turns out I had forgotten to select the whole ending so I will have to go back and fix that.
I haven`t heard the original fotisg...it reminds me a little of some of the darker metal as it has quite an ominous feeling...the reverse sounds seem to work well in giving it a mysterious feeling...nicely produced.....Ed
It was in the works ,a Variation in production, to make it a bit of a doom-ish black metal.. Will have to wait for the band members to reassemble though :) Thank you for your comment
very interesting the way you used the pella almost like an extra ambient instrument melody...really works in creating a special atmosphere...ambient music if often quite sombre ...but you have a really good listening uplifting composition here Simon...really enjoyed it...a big well done to you...Ed
Amazing job on those lyrics (very emotional...powerful) and you deliver them with that smooth style that I really love Kenny....great job my friend...It really was a priviledge to do some music with you.....Bravo......Ed
The very first song I posted on Looperman was based around your guitar loops. I'm really glad that now I have been able to complete one of your tracks. Apart from being an awesome musician, you are also a generous soul and tweaked and re-did parts to make it fit. I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever done and for that I thank you man.
I was doing some listening on the Loop and just had to log in to leave you a few words on this one Killimineye....interesting the way it came to be...many of us could take lessons in clarity and simple goodness from this one...It is a beautiful song and your friend has a beautiful voice...and you accompany it effectly..with just the right choice of instrumentation to let the vocal shine....Much respect to you...and to the young lady who did the vocals you produced so well...great job.......Ed
I really do appreciate your kindness, Tumbleweed. It definitely means a lot to me. Her father is an excellent singer, so its in her blood haha. I just loved making it come alive! Ahhh music.
Chillout with a lot of soul TG...really nice sounding drum kit...did you use youir guitar volume knob on that part around 1:50...great idea....nice soulful chords & fat tone....very nicely arranged....another fav for me...thanks..great job...
Thanks Man...
The guitar was through a Digitech Processor...Volume Peddle kinda thing...
Gives you complete command, of sound and actions...helps a lot...
Oh Man...What have you done here...this is beaming in from far above anything I have listened to lately (and that listening seldom involves a radio)...wheather or not you intended it...Your brain has soaked up the whole Floyd vibe...the force is with you Aaron...I was going to hit the download button but its not there (I totally understand why)...This is a version of ValVedriVer I really like...and while the more usual you does a lot of great mixes...this one is stellar man....comes with big emotion...a ton of feeling....(oh love that organ bit too)...but you likely know I`m a Floyd fan..... ..awesome.....definite fav from this ol boy.....Ed
Ed, sorry for the late reply. Between work, family and flu, I haven't been much use to anyone lately.
First, thanks for the outstanding comment!
I'm kind of in the process of taking music a little more seriously. Like, actually trying to learn. I'm hoping that in the future, I'll be able to put out more like this one, but with more of the "ValveDriver" signature, and not so much the Pink Floyd resemblance.
Also, I'm sending Danke a copy of this. If you want, contact me here, I'll send one your way as well.
Thanks again for the encouraging words, Ed. It's always a pleasure when you stop by.
I like it X....nice intro with the organ ..I`ve been using NI`s B4 vst (old version) for organ but just downloaded a free one called ORGANized Trio that is pretty impressive for a Hammond type sound...a bit unusual and really good to hear the use of brass in a electronic style mix...give it a different kind of classic spin...that bass part around 2:55 is great...really interesting arrangement..its almost like some of those classic sounds/styles have been brought up to date & given new life....great track...much enjoyed....Hope the Winter is treating you well over there (I mis-spent a couple of years down the road from you in Glasgow)......Ed
That sax is something special M...its not an instrument that we can play well using a vsti and its always a pleasure to hear when Reiko (or Dan) do it....Patricia always does something special with her vocals and you guys have put together some special accompaniament....great to hear the drums played by a real drummer too...Time to take it on tour folks...great job.....Ed
Thanks very much for checking us out and leaving your kind words.
I agree about the sax, and fortunately, we have two wonderful saxophonist in our camp. We don't get a chance to use both of them, but they were both available, so we took that opportunity here.
It would be great to all get together in person and digitally we can but distance prevents this. We're all in different parts of the world.
You have a fantastic clear voice Jeffierenee...good to hear a song done with this kind of diction...It was I very short listen but gotta say I enjoyed it...could listen a lot longer to this kind of talent....well done...Ed
I see you just joined Looperman recently...so a big welcome to you EtherBlu...its a great little community of diverse musicians...and what an intro you have posted...you obviously are an experienced musician and producer...this is a great mix...with all the dynamics intact and clear as a bell...fantastic work my friend...much enjoyed over here in my part of the planet....a big well done to you.....Ed
Thanks galore for such a warm welcome Tumbleweed! And yes its indeed a great community, and its great bcoz of all you musicians here. Appreciate for the thorough listen my friend... and thanks again for the wonderful words!
very cool intro...dam Kenny....you underestimate yourself big time...you`ve got the voice for this kind of stuff in spades...love it...got that wee touch of smooth grit that cant be bought....great listening here..and I note you have some very talented company on the trip with just the right kind of contribution in the right spots...this is top notch Kenny....definite fav....Ed
Taat spot at 5 min in hits it big time just when I was wondering where it was going to head.......nice change up around 5:30....I seem to be listening to longer mixes tonight...I dont think I could do one this long without getting a hell of a lot more reperative...this one was a nice easy ride all the way....so what do I think....hell yeah...keep on doing it....Ed
Thanks Ed, I do often wonder if anyone actually bothers to listen to the whole track but i like to squeeze every last drop out of the ten minutes or so that we seem to be allocated. I think it's a lot easier to do when you make electronic stuff as most of it is just looping and layering.
As always thanks for swinging by and commenting on my stuff. I seem to be getting much more downloads than i get comments at the moment which makes it all the more special.
Cheers again!!

interesting EB....I like the movement and appreciate the drops & transtions you have put into vary the listening...but I have to say in all honesty that I did find it really repetative with the same little progression all the way...its really hard to make a mix running over 10 minutes hold attention without a few more changes in either key prog or instrumentation etc...please take my comment as constructively intended EB..I have much appreciation for artistic effortss and would not want to discourage a fellow musician...Keep on doing it your way..........Ed
You definitely have the soundtrack Mark...there are some parts that I think would make it ideal for one of those fantasy or midevil kind of scene sets with the flute sound & vocal pads etc......big mix here...and all sits very nice and clear on my speakers...well...now that Winter is at its worst perhaps it will keep you inside and doing more music....your year is off to a very fine start.....Ed
a big thank you, really pleased you like, and the effect I was trying to create, and yes it will be good to start creating again....and winters a good excuse for a drop or two of the good stuff!
thanks again Ed,
Take care,
Mark
