Hey, man. That sucks about the job. But at least with the extra time you have the opportunity to work on more music. Time. A commodity I'm severely lacking. Hopefully, all works out for you, though.

The guitar VST is called ShreddageII. It's a third party Kontakt library. I picked it up for about $100.USD. I don't know if you have Kontakt Player or not, but if you don't, you can download it for free from the Native Instruments site. It's fully compatible with FL studios. That's what I use and I have no problems with it. Just make sure that if you do, and if you're going to pick up any third party libraries, you make sure it specifies whether you can use it in the free version. Some companies like Soundiron are exclusively for the paid version. I found that out the hard way. But, on average, most places are cool and make it available for both. A lot of times you can find libraries for a low as twenty dollars. Others, up to 300 dollars. Usually, though, you find pretty good deals.

I hope that helps.

Again, take care.

Look, FreeRad: you've got to show me love. Especially at 6:30. That house organ loop says it loud and clear: You've Got To Show Me Love.

Anyway, before then you're teasing us with not dropping that beat until 1:30. Good buildup to it and this is your usual skilfully made boom-tish stuff.

2:00 vocals stand out as very cool. Definite dancefloor banger here.

3:00 and here we go, yo with that pullback to a fat bassline.

Good vocal return on 5:30 and then they fade out nicely before we get to the showing me love section.

7:30 brass is awesome. Is that just a straight bunch of samples or have you arranged them to make up that strong melody line?

8:12 vocals are cool. A chorus of a few people singing something euphoric. Probably not in English. Makes me think of Brazil (country, not Terry Gilliam film).

Good work, as per usual. Nothing I didn't like in here, just a few highlights I thought I'd point out.

Yeah, the Robin S thing was a complete coincidence. I wasn't thinking that at all when I threw it together. Both the brass and the vocals were just samples that happened to work. The only thing it took was time to find them. I keep telling myself to ditch the loops and write something but a lot of the loops sound better than the stuff I actually produce so I figure "what the hell" if I can take someone elses crap and build around it then why not?
Thanks as always for stopping by and bronies are wankers. That's all I have to say on that matter.
Cheers.

Thanks but I have to disagree. All I do is take a few loops and build around them which isn't that hard to do. Coming up with stuff from scratch is a lot harder and so is playing it so hats off to all those musicians who actually play.
Cheers for stopping by and leaving your thoughts.

FR. What's happnin', man?

This is nice. I do like the fact that you tend to stick to the retro-sound. I started getting into the whole techno world around '92, so I kind of have a soft spot for that style.

"I figure if it sounds ok then who cares?"

I agree. In my opinion, music isn't about how it's made, it's about how it's received. I mean, you can use rocks and sticks to make music, so why not loops? If it's good...it's good.

As far as those VST's go, and getting the sound you want, if you need any advice, let me know. I can try to help you out. Since that's ALL I use.

Take care.

Hey man cheers for dropping in. Not much is happening in all honesty. I lost my job a few months back so boredom is what's happening really.
Glad you liked the track and as for the VST's it's not so much that I don't know how to use them it's more that I just don't have the right ones for what I want to do. There's so much stuff I want to get but I just can't afford it at the moment. But saying that I do have a ton of other stuff I can mess around with for the time being so I cant really complain. You could however give me the name of that VST you make your guitar sounds with as it always sounds pretty authentic where as the samples I have just sound like samples. That would be handy.
Cheers again for dropping in. It's much appreciated.

Really digging the transitions here! 6:30 was a very good transition to what I think is the best part of the song and sounded very Robin S style.

I think the song works. Well done!

This is great man, you said to MrFucktastic that you 'want to back to making loops from scratch as it is kind of cheating' although you may be right in a way, but using loops to make a song is a talent in itself to make a song as good as this with loops that doesnt sound repetitive or anything is quite a talent, so yeah man cool track keep it up :D

hi. this is really nice tune. I like loops of good quality, somehow it is very hard to make them sound not corresponding cause they are perfectly designed already. Anyway I much enjoyed your work - solid and very loud transparent mix, nothing really clashes here. Very good and tasteful use of loops. Good job. Nice funky house vibes. Alex

Nice retro vibes we've got here. I'm back at the disco's in the 90's!
It all evolves to something really nice from 8' I can find the "show me love" by Robin S, one of my favorites from that time.
Great work!

Yeah all my stuff tends to sound quite rero. I've tried to make dubstep a couple of times but I seem to get bored of it after the first few bars and then just revert back to old school. I guess it was just the sound of my generation.
Anyway, cheers for stopping by and leaving comments.

some really tasty drums here FR...the basic kit in the first section got my attention even though it was not the intended star of the part...bass takes a nice part at the end of the 2nd section..amazing how effective the right kind of bass & bass line can be...like the bit of jazzy-lounge vibe in the last part...oh yes...lots of old school vibe so its got this nice combination of a comfortable feel whils keeping the ears perked for whats next...bet you spent more than a little time thinking this one together...works well & sounds good...and as always its good listening entertainment this afternoon over my way....Ed

Hi Ed, cheers for coming round. You are right, it did take quite a while to put together but it's only a case of listening to loops and finding ones that match. I wrote pretty much none of it from scratch so I guess that makes me a big cheat. I don't care though. I figure if it sounds ok then who cares?
Thanks again for dropping in.

Ha, wow nice experiment dude. You do a good job with the loops, over time you've been getting a lot better in how you use them, some good results here.

I agree with your mix of styles with the loops, can achieve some cool grooves. Levels are good with this track, well I like them for my speaker type. Im gonna have to also say the 1st half is where the hype is for me. 2nd half is not bad though, that one sounds more like house. The other was just badass haha.

Like this - very tight production - really like the portion starting at 7:30 - arguably could be its own track. I kind of hear 4 tracks here tied together with bass and synth grooves and smooth transitions. Kind of mirrors SJs comments but I liked the second piece more - opinions vary.

All I did with this was match up loops. So, other than being a bit time consuming it was pretty easy to put together. I just wish I had some proper equipment so I didn't have to rely on loops. FL studio is ok but the sound selection isn't really geared up for what I want to do.
Glad you could stop by and leave your opinion.

This is lovely, with an oldschool flavour to it all the way! Great production and arrangement - which daw are you using by the way? I'm guessing Ableton.
Really digging the first part to 6:30. The second track (I think of them as two different tracks..) is sounding more slick and polished. I think I prefer the first one though, it's more dynamic.

Cheers!

Thanks. I was going for an old school kind of a vibe so mission accomplished I guess. As for which DAW i'm using it's FL studio. I use a lot of loopmasters/prime loops packs these days as they contain sounds that I can't make with the equipment I've got.
Thanks for stopping by and lending your ears.

Description : Ugly ass witch house beat that isn't technically a house beat. (The Drum Track is by LM's Danke.) The Track's based on an older beat of mine with the same name. This version's half as long & not as busy. The Synths are Synthmaster, Massive, Dark Keys & Creep Piano. And of course, It wouldn't be a Clickbait Cabaret beat without nine zillion FX plugins. Pretty sure all of them are on this beat.
