Description : This is a kind of funk-disco-big band number that will make you think of the 70s and 80s, if you're old enough. It has all those vintage sounds so popular in this genre. I tried to maintain the sounds of the time while still enabling some updating. Even if you had never liked disco, give this one a try. It may surprise you.

I'm definitely old enough to remember the days of Earth, Wind and Fire and Tower of Power, and this one would fit nicely in either of their wheelhouses. The percussion on this is top notch (but all of your drum work is so, so good). You also managed to skillfully weave the other instruments around the percussion.
An enjoyable listen, Scott, added to favorites, and a huge thank you for getting my day started off the right way. Well done. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Thanks so much, SJ. So glad you like it. Just going back in time, again! Glad you like the giggling at the end. I thought it was a cute touch.
Our international band, Musicante, just did a cute one with some cool Portuguese dialogue and singing. You may get into the guitar. Check it out if you like. http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/162371
A rhythm of the past, that you've dusted off with your usual enthusiasm. Well supported by the drums, all instrumentation is well in place and leveled with a lot of fantasy.
As in the good old days. Really nice to listen to ....
hi Scott, this is a very cool funky compilation. Some loops like the clavinet-one reminded me of some older music. Nice guitar soloing. It is definitely the synth at 1:36 which is reminding me of Herbie Hancock. I enjoyed different bass-lines, even the Moog-styled one from about 3:28. Nice old funk disco. Alex
Nice one Scott! What a blast from the past. I must admit that I was a disco hater back then but I have grown to appreciate it the older I am. The vocals were a great addition, cool ending. Very nice mix, everything has it's own place. Like you mentioned, there is a classic sound mixed with some fresh sounds. Dig the guitar!
Many thanks, my friend. You know, I was a disco hater too, when it first emerged. I thought it would hurt us playing musicians, but I joined a 9 piece disco/funk band and I loved it. I remember having to tie my bell bottom cause it kept getting caught in the beater of my kick drum pedal! I still don't have allot of disco in my collection, but smile when I hear it on the oldies stations.
Travelling back in time to those great days (loved that kinda era) with magical rememberance...Instrumentation is professional as usual, your drum is hyper live, vocs, speaches and that bass are incredible...as always your team? made an excellent work in your retro song...
Well, I'm not ashamed to admit that have always loved disco! Especially Chic. This is a totally satisfying recreation updating of that genre, Scott. I enjoyed the entire thing. Great horn parts. And, the vocals worked really well, Nice touch with the Youser, Yourser, Yourser quote form Chic at the end. Nile Rogers would be pleased. :) You do good stuff, man!
Good for you, Eric. I know disco got a bad rap back in the day, especially from us working musicians, but I got in with a 9 piece band that did all the latest disco and funk tunes of the time and I learned to like the style. Yeah, I remember Chic's song, and I wanted a 'yawza' in there somewhere, so I recorded my voice and dropped the pitch.
Anyway, thanks for chiming in with your kind words.
I remember the day Scott....yeah...I`m way old....I can`t say I was ever a disco fan at the time...I was in the "If it aint rock n roll it aint nothin" mode at the time....but strangely enough it sounds much better today than it used to and my head has absorbed a much wider variety of beats, time sigs, etc...you do everything well my friend...this and all you do is the proof...very extra cool ending.....right on....Ed
I was right there with you on being a disco hater, but I joined a 9 piece funk/disco band and learned to like it. It was really fun to play and I always love horns in a band. I just got out of the Navy and played allot of marching styles, so I really got into the different style.
Anyway, I appreciate you checking it out and leaving your kind words.
Hey MrGene. I do remember Confunction. In fact, played some back in the day.
I did do a short drum solo about 3:20 than a bass and drum solo. Since I'm a drummer, most of my stuff has a drum solo of some kind in them. Check out my page for them.
I'm really skeptical about some music that claims to be one thing but really sound like something else.
This piece Scott is really good. It did have me thinking of the 70's and 80's disco and had me doing the diskallovertheroom thing. Very nice indeed.
This piece has many nice elements, and the rhythm guitar is just sensational. The female vocals also add an almost sensual element to a song that was so typical of funk from the 70's and 80's. Nice work!
Glad you like it and thank you for your kind words. The composition is all me, but I use live instruments with other loops and tracks. I use other musician friends when I can, and they are available.
Cheers,
Scott

Description : This is only a snippet of a little thing I threw together today. It features the lead vocal of our own Janis71. I have added 3 harmonies to her original loop. Kinda sounds Disco-y. I am very new to audio mixing, and hence am only stabbing in the dark here.
Description : Did I mention that I almost daily listen to funk and disco whilst working? Well, it is the perfect mixture of positive vibes and a steady groove. However I found it always challenging to put a good groovy Disco / Funk songs together. I guess you already heard Silver Bellas song from the AlanMcLarenProject. This is my (totally different) version. Please tell me if your feet went into the groove :-) Cheers, Oli
Description : With new drums and a bit different mix. Check also the bit after say 2:20... let' call this the extended version :)
All credits to the amazing Melvatron (you can find his acapella "Disco Tribute" on this site) and Charlotte (provided by AAP, again on this site. I can't put the links here, but will link you both on the upcoming youtube. Awesome work guys and thank you so much for posting your work here.
Description : A little disco, a little funk, and just feel good 70s style music. Featuring some drum, bass, and guitar solos, with some groovy horns and disco vocals. Check it out...It will do you no harm!
Description : Inspired by true events :)
Hey Looperfam!
-The vocal is in my acapella section.
I would love to hear some remixes. It was originally recorded as punk/glam, then I found the arpeggiator.
Hit me up for hi-res source.
Have a great day!

Also, thanks for your comment on my drumming. Being a drummer, it's always a very integral of my music, so thanks for noticing.
And a Happy Holidays to you and family, as well.

A really funky piece of disco music here. And so sweet with the leadsinger giggeling at the end.
Great stuff!
