Really nice intro on this, but it just got better and better. The guitar sounds amazing as do the drums. The whole songs just flows, effortlessly and has a great vibe to it. It's an absolute joy to listen to. Amazing work.
Thank you very much for your very generous comments BV. Good to hear from friends across the pond. Be over to your page to check what you have been up to shortly. Cheers. Ed
Always look forward to new music from you guys! And I second what Cru said. I read comments from before I was around on this site and without wanting to look back with nostalgia on something I wasn't part of, the community at that time just looked like so much fun! Anyway, this was a lovely listen, golden guitar tones and liquid phrasing. And you're inspiring me to compose something on the piano, something I've had on my mind for a while. Cheers Chris.
Good to hear from you Zootman. Hope the world is treating you well down your way. Thanks a bunch for those kind comments. Yeah, get going on that piano. Up this way its just about too hot to go outside, but I aint complaining considering what we will get about 6 months from now. Cheers. Keep on. Ed
OMG this is outstanding I love that Nile Rodgers guitar sound, esp at the v beginning and this acapella sits perfectly pretty on this track, with its caramel, smooth jazzy overtones
great work Ed, I totally agree with Cru about yours and Bears contribution to the community, long gone are the old days when loads took part and everyone of us have grown from our group that shared a good bond, again a great piece well produced working off of the piano loop, two of our truly old-schoolers showing they still got it, hope you both keep good, nice work lads
Hi Dimestop. Thanks for stopping by and for the kind comments. I think there used to be a bit more communication and get to know you going on in times past, It seemed that more people were willing to offer suggestions too. But much of what used to be has changed so we just gotta move with it or unplug. Keep on doing your thing my friend. Best to you and yours. Ed
I really enjoyed your track. The arrangement built around the piano is marvelous, and you did an outstanding job composing it. It is a fully inspirational loop, and your creative imagination makes it a truly beautiful song, Tumbleweed. The sound quality is excellent as well.
Best regards, Anthony
Well, Hank and the Shadows were the reason I had to get a Stratocaster when I went to work. Yeah, I am that old but still addicted to the sound. Big thanks for the kind comments. Ed
Oh, my friend. I so miss that combo of amazing twangy guitars and that amazing padd buffer. So freaking good. I miss your music here. I also miss Short Bus Music. Both of you sustained my early development on this site. I wish I were of the age that I could have joined you both in the early days of making music in the seventies. No matter. You are both amazing musicians, and we have been so blessed that you have contributed to the looperman family through the years. Please never forget that we are so grateful for the loops, the camaraderie, and the talent.
Hello Tumbleweed, just gave your track a listen and thoroughly enjoyed it....its a nice chilled piece with a great guitar stretch done very nicely....very good work my friend.
"Very retro smooth R&B attempt by the old guitar dude..." - Success! Nice guitar playing very smooth, not to much or to little. Great tones on the guitar! It fit the track so well!
Hi James. That is a very generous commentary. Many thanks. Hoping to do a bit of catch up on LM this week and check out what some of you fellow veterans have been up to. Thanks again. Cheers. Ed
Ed so nice to see you back in featured, hope you are well, its been a long while,
i commented on this 2 years ago, i have not changed my mind either, i'm just more experienced now,
its so beautiful, your treatment of the vocal is cool they were right in the middle of the mix, everything was tight and fitted so well, the music is delightful its almost 1am UK i'm ill with sciatica and off work music is keeping me going, thanks for the pain relief, it works better than the meds they feeding me, seriously
good to hear from you mate and my thanks for the very generous comments. Sciatica is one ugly affliction. I have had it for about 15 years so I know its no fun. Still putter with my music although not as often as I cant seem to just quit. I have a tune I built around one of our friend Bears piano loops that I posted on SC but didnt get around to posting on LM I will try to get up this week. I have just gotten really lazy about follow up. Keep doing your thing old friend and I do hope your sciatica lets up for you. All the best. Ed
Ed how on earth are you I have been a way so long and had to pop back to hear some tracks from the old loopers on here. This track is so relaxing and I absolutely love it. Well done mate
Steve
Hi Steve. been m.i.a. a lot this year myself. I should really have packed it in by now as my fingers dont keep up with the old head but just keep plunking along. Good to hear from you. Did hear from our old friend Bear the other day as I posted a song (Ode To The Night Wind) over on soundcloud that I built around his piano. Maybe get it posted on LM one of these days but seem to have trouble doing much follow up. Good to see you still around once in a while man...keep on. Cheers. Ed
Oh my, Ed, this is just so beautiful on so many different levels. Such an honorable treatment of the vocals, sitting so nicely in the mix. That old guitar of yours still has the magic left in it. Really, really well done. But I would expect nothing less from you. Added to favorites in a New York minute. I hope you are still noodling old friend.
always most generous in your comments Bear..much appreciated although I must admit the old fingers dont follow the mind as well as they used to. As with you, much has changed in recent times. My good wife and our youngest Son have gone on ahead of the ol boy and eldest survived a quadruple bypass emergency. In an apartment now and my studio is a laptop in the bedroom corner. But I must be hear for a reason so we continue on the journey yet a while. My best to you always. Ed
Yes, truly smooth and engaging with the guitar being a protagonist in this play.
The vocals are really good and of course there has been a great deal of work for this arrangement. I totally liked your song.
Best regards, Anthony
you are too generous my friend...I am just an old guitar dude who doesnt know when to quit. Thank you for your kind words. As you can see I havent been around LM much. Guess I am too old school but I keep a few tunes on my SC page. I hope the world is being kind to you. All the best. Ed
Hello Tumbleweed, I just gave your rnb track a listen and quite enjoyed it...the vocals are very good and guitar accompaniment was great....it definitely has that old school soulful groove......great track my friend.
