the combination of electronic & hip hop bounces this one to a new level deopi...I can`t claim a lot of knowledge in either genre but its obvious you have put lots of thought into the arrangement...the fairly hard limiting seems to suit the genre & get some of that big power into the mix ...nice job on the production...enjoyed the listen...Ed
Thanx a lot for the listenning and the feedback Ed.
I can't claim neither a lot of knowledge in dubstep nor house (a bit more in hip hop), but these accaps made the track alive like i'd never expect. These K19 & Steklo guys are killers.
This one seems to carry a lot of your influences Steve...I really like that the mix is a bit minimal (eg: not over cluttered) so it sounds really clean...great little poppy uplifting sound and it goes perfectly with vocal..Tip of the hat for the thoughtful approach to composing with those little breaks just at the right time..I`m not really up on genres but seems to me this one would fit right into today`s charts but it would be a winner in more that several decades of music..the kind of little tune that leaves with you a smile (and it warms up a cool night over here on the Canadian prairies)...you got it all right...so whats to say..enjoyed the listen..mighty fine bit of work...Ed
Woooow....I was looking for the fav button before the 1st minute was up...having a big laugh at those lyrics...but what gets me is the job you done on the music..friggin awesome guitars///great drums...badass bass...its all good...whats to say...its the best rock track my old ears have heard in a very long time...Bravo....Ed
I deleted 10 or so vocal takes because I cracked up. I really don't take myself seriously when it comes to vocals, so it's a bit comical to me. Doubt I'll ever really sing.
Music was a joy to do. The main riff was the star of two weeks worth of whistling. Couldn't shake it.
Wife still has not heard this one. Having a bit of vocals in it, I probably won't ever let her hear it. She really doesn't care about my music so I'll probably start keeping it to myself. Maybe in the future I'll make stuff she likes.
Thanks for the very kind words. Makes me want to go warm up the amp!
Phil definitely has owned that reverse reverb snare sound for a long time...you sure nailed the 80s vibe here...big mix...a fine vocal by myst too...a nice journey back to the days......well done...Ed
maybe you should get bored & do some songs more often Darnell...good for you in getting the vocal nicely up front and clear..it might even benefit from a little touch of added reverb.....I think the music would be a bit tough for most people to put lyrics too so well done to you on that...Keep working on the production part..the accompaniment is sounding pretty decent but I know if you keep working on that side of the fun you can kick it up a notch or two...good job....keep on...Ed
That intro just gets me every time Pat...its crazy good...your talent on the keys is always out of sight good but you really took this one to another place with the production ideas as well...it does come off as having a Floyd vibe (thats a good thing too)...many thanks for letting me tag along on this one,,,my copy is going on the MP3 player (use it every day for the treadmill or walks) as I`m going to want to listen a lot more...seem to find something new that grabs my attention every time...love those chord progs by the way....a tip of the cap & much respect to you my friend..I`ll be keeping this one...Ed
Thanks Ed. Again, your guitar work really classed this song up. Treadmill huh. I just started using a exercise bike myself. Attempting to lower my blood pressure. Unfortunately my job is a sit down job and I am paying the price for it. Lets keep the snow away from Canada and Nebraska and keep to New York and DC. Peace.. Pat
Aptly titled...a place of safety...now abandoned to its quietness...a touch of meloncholy...peace....you paint the picture perfectly with your patient approach to composition that evolves along its way...and always a most enjoyable listen over here...well done (as always) Orlando...Ed
Hey, my friend...always good to hear from you! As you see
I'm exploring that kind of mood lately, although I have no rational explanation for it..as if there were unexplicable forces which drag me into certain phase of creating, yet the direction might change in the next hour...haha...
Thank you so much for stopping by to listen and comment...and for all those encouraging words, but now we are changing the roles as I rush to hear your new thing...
I can hear why you would want to keep this one Larry...some really rich sounds..and yes..its is, as has been mentioned a bit too repetitive & maybe that what bored you about it (I hit the delete button a lot myself as I get P`d off at my efforts)...but its good listening & has lots of potential....Why not try a break or 2 after 16 bars or so...maybe drop the beat & put it some subtle synth Or string pads or sweeps...then pick it up again with a slightly different kit, etc...most every tune needs a break or a bridge to get a bit if structure/interest into the listen...keep doing your thing Larry...and hope you have a great musical year ahead...Ed
Last halloween my Grandson (9) got one of those dollar store :Insane Asylum" signs & posted it on my studio wall...most of the people whose music I like are eejits (Irish expression)...and I am happy to be included...this is not quite as insane as I had thought it might be...hell, it almost sounds like normal-good (is there a genre for that)....Cheers Steve...always enjoy listening...Ed
Thank You Ed. eejits (idiots) nice. And yes when I write about insanity I happen to trick you by making a straight ahead pop tune. All in a day's work ehh? Thanks for stopping bye.
Steve
If this doesn`t get the parts moving they are not movable....great transition at 0:30...I must have been really slacking (I was ) to have missed this one earlier...the vocal is top notch....big power accompaniment...Dont know what you ended up doing with this one midiman...but it should be on my radio...its the best thing I have listened to in a long time..no shit...makes me want to break out of my customary mellow mode & make some noise.....standing ovation up here at my place...I`m going to have a drink now....definite fav....bravo boys & girls...Ed
Same here my dear friend...without you and your precious support I wouldn't be even close to opportunity of getting
a taste what reaching new levels means...There are no words
to express my gratitude !
This is probably the most traditional Country song I have heard you do Kyle...and you have done an exceptional job of it....its got the story,,...perfect accompaniment (dont add too much to it...but I can hear the room some some strings and maybe a more prominent bass part)..I guess the Loop doesn`t have a lot of country...but this is just a good song, exceptionally well done in any genre..a tip of the hat to you....Check out a site called SongRamp..a lot of country & gospel music and an active songwriters forum...I posted a couple of my instrumental tunes on their free version a while back but realized that aside from the friendships it was not really the place for an old instrumental guy...You have a good song going Kyle and its worth doing whatever you can to take it to the level you want and getting it out there...It would fit right in the "Country" charts....great job...keep on....Ed
Thanks for the kind words, I agree with you on keeping the song simple and not adding too much to it. I am going to check out the website as well, after writing the song I have a couple artist in mind that would really sound awesome singing this song. One of them is a relatively unknown artist who has actually wrote a couple of songs that were cut by some big names in the industry. I may try to pitch the song to him, not sure how do that but I think its worth a try to figure out. Thanks again for the listen and review.
I spent a lot of the 80s in airports & hotels...and most of those hotels had some kind of club downstairs where you could have a listen for a while before cashing the day in...definitely reminded of the vibe...I like that its a nice uplifting kind of little melody with the high synth lead & great fat analog bass lines..addicting kind of beat...I could listen to this for a long time...you`ve outdone yourself (again)....keep on...you just keep getting better....Ed
Good morning Ed.
Wow such kind words coming from you mate.
I am really humble.
I ‘m glad you liked it and thank you for such kind words
Merry Xmas to you all.

definitely different Modex...and thats usually a good thing...I would pull the snare sound in that outro part back just a bit...see a few comments on the bass & kick..I think the kick is on the money but maybe scoop out a bit around 200 hz on the bass & bump it up at 80 hz or so & pull it back a couple of dBs....overall its a creative approach...good for you...ed
you can count me among those who noticed the bass work GO...nice slow attack with the pads and then a bit moe initial bite where appropriate...nice job on the composition and you have certainly arranged it to hold interest while maintaining the theme all the way...nice clean production...all round just a really well done piece of music...you have every right to be proud of this one...a big well done to you and SwishFish....Ed
Oii! I apologize for the nearly 2 year long response. I was going through my old music, and saw that I left some comments unresponded too. Anyhow, I do appreciate your comment. Even now, this is one of my favorites I've done. Hope you're doing well!
I never originally thought of those older games as having a musical influence...but I have heard more than a few that picked up on the vibe/concept ...and like this one...have taken it to a whole new level...much more musical and much more enjoyable listen than those original little tunes...you do it well Anders...and you are due for a new one.....realy great job on this one.....Ed...PS: If I tried to sing on it they would kick us both off Looperman..haha....
I see I`m late catching up with this one lechina...it does have a nice poppy vibe..Laurie`s vocal sounds good...nice bouncy happy tune...and we could always use more of that....well done...Ed
thank you very much Tumble.Yeah I reckon we should make some happy music to lift up the mood dude.I'm glad you love the track. Thanks for the listen mate
Big contrast between the intro section and the part with the guitar & piano (I like it)...a unique combination of electronic & acoustic parts ( really like the acoustic parts in particular)...different in a good way...It is a nice uplifting bouncy kind of mix that leaves you with a smile....well done MG.....Ed
I feel like I should be sitting at a table somewhere not too far from the stage...sipping on an expensive wine and waiting for my serving of steak diane.....haha...I`ve said it before..you guys have a plugged band...all the best talent going...and the music that only real players can make...salute....Ed
plain is often a good thing...its states its case clearly..this may sound weird Larry, but I would leave out that little click-snare or maybe replace it with something subtle with a bit more body (lower frequencies)..keep in mind you are hearing this from an old guy whose first exposure to R&B goes way back to the originals...but, as you say, the vocal is the star and that may change the whole perspective..Its different in a really good way..it leaves all kinds of options open for the vocalist and has unique instrumentation that should really draw attention...I really enjoy the kind of creativity you put into your musical ideas Larry...and that always makes for enjoyable listening....right on....Ed
Sounds like you did this one the way I have done many in times past T.A...but even so its great therapy to be able to find a bit of music time out to replenish the mind & soul....Its a perfect album closer...makes me think..O.K.,,,just do a bit more...I really like it (seriously)..David Gilmour`s new album uses a similar approach...a short intro track called 5:00a.m....and a final track called "And Then"..that carries the same tune/theme forward...but, aside from all that..its just really well done....if you did the vocal (and I assume you did) take an extra bow...its really well done...Keep that whole album concept in mind and just do it...any what does it matter if it takes months...Its the kind of music that I can listen to for the rest of the night and its done with talent and feeling.....well done...Ed
Thank you for the kind compliments Tumbleweed. I did indeed do the vocals. I have actually been trying to get an album together. I have enough material, but I'm not sure on what direction to take it in. With this as a set ending I might be able to work it all out now. We shall see.
That automatic drummer feature sounds damn good...better than anything I have been coming up with lately...does have a cinematic vibe Dave..kind of mind picture-painting music..a good moving along base for what ever you may choose to add, although it stands well as just a listening mix as it is...good job...Ed
I`ll have to take your word for genre C.M..as I`m not much for genre knowledge myself....big mix and very loud (think you have a bit of distortion there...quite noticeable at the intro in particular)...on the other hand its creative stuff (unlike a lot of what our radios play) and the technical stuff is easy to fix..lots of power....good job....keep on....Ed

It sure was different back in the days. I can imagine what living as a big producer was like. Mixers, cigarettes and other unhealthy things ;)
Glad you took your time to listen and commenting.
