Well S.J....you did a seriously good job of pulling this all together...like the first half best I think...has a bit of R&B flavour but I`m really impressed with how you brought so many elements into the kix and still made them all not only very coherent in it but also how they sit so clearly in quite a big mix...this is very cool...enjoyed it....well done...Ed
Hello Ed, long time no hear -haven't heard any of your songs in a while and I'm missing them a lot.
I hope all is well with you!
Thanks for listening! This one is all loops from here and some drums I found inside the FL Studio...even the woman singning lives in there. I hope she's not feeling lonely. No seriously, I think I ruined some of the loops, they are popping and clicking a lot, but I'm pretending they are supposed to be, it's actually a very important part of the song.
Ha ha!
Take care/ SJ =)
This has a nice kind of light and smooth flow to it Larry...lots of those higher frequency kind of sounds that add convey a good feeling...it could use a nice fat bass to really hit its R&B stride...its good listening but if you want to kick it up a big notch maybe think about a key change (or 2) around the middle to last 3rd just to hold the interest...Its in C and D minor all the way so you could bump it over to G or A etc and make it cook good...maybe a little change in the drums where you make the key change ...definitely keep it going...it has an uplifting kind of vibe and we could all use more of that....right on...Ed
Thanks so much for tha listen, im in the process of making some changes and laying the vocals, so i hope it comes out well, thanks alot my friend. Larry
The test of a musicians talent I think is to play his/her solo instrument and leave the listeners enjoying what they just heard with out the adornment of all else that may be added....I enjoyed this one BradoSanz.....I`m guessing it will be even better when you add you vocal...but its good now...Ed
I`m diggin this one big time Kyle...it has a nice loose live feel...and I think that comes from just playing & singing the way you do....actually the production is pretty well done...(I`m listening on my studio headphones ..ATM-M50s)...nice job on the lyrics...I like the deep bass (I go for it often) so don`t tame it too much..You have a style I always enjoy.....well done...hope all is well down your way....Ed
Hey Ed, everything is good my way, just way more busy than I would like to be. Thanks for checking out the track and thanks for comments, they are always appreciated.
Stop saying its not good NJNS....music is how many of us express what we feel and its the emotion that matters...not the technical stuff...I don`t know or care much about genres but this sounds more like a trance mix to me...If you don`t mind a suggestion...don`t limit the mix so hard..it works o.k. in electronica I guess but it takes out and squashes to death a lot of the dynamics in the sounds...louder is not better....Just use soft limiting & let the music speak...You are really doing well...I think each of your mixes keep getting better...keep on doing it..thats how we all learn.....A tip of the hat to you my young friend.....all the best...Ed
thank you very much for your great feedback
yea you're right, when I was creating this track, I didnt know how to mix well :D, and the sentence you said : "louder is not better" saved in my brain forever.
kindest regards
Its been a while since Musicante posted...good to hear Franco is well...and its good to hear this smoooooth jazz rendition by you talented guys...nice fat tone on that lead guitar...must say you do a fantastic job of getting the feeling into those keys..piano can be such an expressive instrument when its played with the way you do it...sax always seem to give me that "Late night up town" kind of vibe...This is top notch guys...but thats what I expected when I hit the play button....another fav...Ed
fortunately for those in the world whose hearing is not impaired I do not attempt to sing....but I listen well..haha...If I did sing you have this one structured about perfectly and very nicely produced...but its just good listening as it is too samran...enjoyed it....Ed
There are more than a few very creative people on the loop but I dont think I have heard anything more creative that has been actually played with real instruments and sounds made by the composer...it is not only well done ..it is damn good listening...just a great track Evan...fav from me....Ed
That may be the highest compliment I've ever received here. Deeply appreciated. I've been trying to not rush anything with the last few tracks. Hope it shows.
Thank you again for your very kind words. Kinda blew me away.
I think its most all been said in the comments ahead of me Richie...I really wish the hell I could find music like this in the commercial (non indie) world...its is just so damn good...if I were to go down the list of performance and production check offs they would all be ticked off with top scores...guess all I have to do is join the rest of your listeners in a standing ovation....I always expect the best here at your palace and it always seems to be even better than could be expected...superb.....Ed
Always great to have you view of my work. It's always valued and I appreciate it. I'm knocked out with your comments and I will pass on your kind words to Lisa too. Thanks again.
very cool backing music EYEDYE...love that bass ...lots of big power in those drums and the piano-string bits sound good...I have never been into rap but you do it well and the accompaniment is really top notch..creative stuff....Ed
You think deeply for a guy your age my friend...the human tribes of the earth have fought for most of history...the leaders invent enemies to build armies...which control the people...and keep the corrupt in power...if there were advanced alien civilizations they would likely see humans as a parasite..and parasites always destroy their host (earth)...I was glad to hear the sound of hope at the end for sometimes that is all we have...and must have... and the goodness of most of humanity shows itself in times of need.....music is a wonderful creative way to express feelings...you do it well....so no more self critisizing...your music is composed with thoughtfulness and creativity...well done to you..Ed
Thanks a lot for your meaningful comment
yes you got the story right, it was my hope to help people with this track someday
thats why Im here, on the earth
and thanks a lot for assuming me more than I am while Im just a drop in a sea
best wishes

I easily get a mind picture of the art this may accompany..I don`t often think in terms of genres though I think this would cross several in its evolving journey and has quite an experimental focus..certainly does have the darkness so I`m feeling those woods are not the birds, butterflys and dappled sunshine type..haha...very interesting to hear the results of a collab of two such talented artists...definitely going to check out the link...well done guys...Ed
It has been amazing discovering Pete's process a little. No - these be some "watch out" woods. Glad if you were feeling it a little Ed. Always more to do but moving on is important also - so on I move. Thanks as always for support. Dan
I am late Orlando, but I am glad I have not missed this one...again you have cast aside the artificial borders to music and allowed the instruments from the continents to make beautiful music together...and what a pleasure to listen to the result....Ed
Always a pleasure to hear from you my friend and your continuous support is hugely appreciated! Thanks alot again
but now I'm rushing to hear your new thing...see you there...:)
Its a hit in any decade mrroads...I just got me the perfect rock fix for the evening...great job...I hear why you would be having big fun with this one..and you got the results if good rock was the objective....right on (as we used to say)....gotta be a fav......Ed
Hello Elena...the LooperLady of rock....this is a big mix....lots going on but you have done a really good job on the mix....great break at 1:20....cool variation at 2:10....love those people whooping it up in the background...with this kind of rock I feel like joining them....this was a fun listen Lady....really enjoyed it....a big well done to you....Ed
Hi Ed !
nice to see you've enjoyed it .
yep , me too like 1:20 & 2:10 in this arrangement & now you made me feel sure about these moments .
thank you much much forkind words .
Elena :)
The kind of R&B I remember being R&B T.G.....definitely has that vibe...creates a nice feeling...kind of nostalgic for me as I really liked a lot of the R&B groups that used to be...(I have one of those little SR18s too...haven`t used it in a while)...This just good listening music performed with talent..Think I better DL this one & transfer it over to my music PC that has proper monitors...a nice way to wrap up the day out West here.....right on....Ed
You should do more chill Steve...this is really good...when I looked at the hard limiting on the Wav picture I expected a big pumping mix but it sounds good (synth is a lot more forgiving that acoustic instruments)....the vocal is good and it has a nice balance of the warm, low & higher/lighter sounds...nice smoooooth listening over my side of the pond....well done...Ed
I hear the thought you put into the composition Alex...makes for a very interesting listen...quite unusual synth sounds (something I would expect when you and Spiv get together)...I don`t like using the work cool...but it is indeed a very cool mix and a great listen...I am reminded that good ondie music isn`t on the radio...its on LM and sites that support real creativity.....great job bu you and Spiv.....Ed
Actually all the synths on the track are mine - Spiv helped me alot to record them properly.
Those unusual sounds are programmed sequences from Arturia Microbrute played at a high rate.
I think the 'Premonator' will still evolve and the other version will be posted sometime.
Regarding to the radio... basically I've tried what I can on the level of composition and arrangement but still there is so much I can do to adjust my recordings to the modern standards. They are usually much quiter. This might become important when playing tracks as a list/set or as an album. So far my focus is on the single tracks in different styles as it somehow fits Looperman nature very well so the lack of mastering is not the problem.
Our styles are indeed quite different but recently I've started experimenting with real synthesizers. Also I want to get more of them in the near future so I will definitely be continuing the 'process'.
I am glad that you enjoyed our efforts. Thanks again!
Alex
How right you are about the timing for a re-release...its was good before...its even better now and a fitting soundtrack for the state of our temporary little planet...great stuff Steve...Ed
I always find it interesting to hear where some artists are taking hip hop...this one could cross over a few other genres too I think...I really like the instrumentation you are using here 7venth...nice key progression and the appropriate breaks to let each section play its part & hold interest...the spoken work story is a bit different, but it suits the whole vibe of the mix and makes it stand out from the crowd....well done...Ed
Oh yes...I hear that menacing darkness of the Valvedriver here..but as you say...it does indeed take you along for that kind of ride where you know you are going to be cruising through anything you encounter on the journey...there is something epic about it and the vocals do give it a touch of "World music" vibe (particularly at the intro)...like the subtle distorted guitar rhythm...has that nice fat pumping vibe...whats to say...definitely a fav...its the kind of music that makes sites like LM important to me...its a bit like some of your fav artists getting together after their commercial days & doing something together that they/you just really like....great track Aaron....good to hear a new one from you...hope all is well in your world...I1ll be back for more when I catch up with myself.....Ed
Thanks for the kind words, my friend. It's always encouraging. Funny thing about this tune, It was originally supposed to be a slow sensual track that was going to be used for a dance...of the more erotic variety. But, the more I worked on it, the more I felt it needed. I suppose it still could be used for that, but it wasn't what I originally intended.
Anyhow, thanks again. As you know, I always appreciate your feedback.
