smooth.....nice R&B kind of chilled vibe...a bit sudden ending...seriously overlimited...there is distortion (mainly kick drum/bass) all the way through the mix....other than that nice job...Ed
I`m enjoying this one eshar...(nice to hear our friend Joe lay down some vocals too)...I have attempted to get a funk mix together a couple of times (really like the genre) but I seem to screw it up each time....This one is good, perhaps it will get me motivated to try again.....well done...Ed
Mike my man...you been practising for a while...really nice job on the mix...and though I`m not really a fan of the genre its good to hear DnB done with this kind of production skill...a big well done to you...cheer for the Roughriders tomorrow (and its mandatory to have a few brew while you do)..haha....Cheers....Ed
Like the drum kit going on in the intro..being an old player I tend to listen to key progressions...and while this works really well as a dance track I think a key change (or 2) would be great...for example, if that break at 2:12 included a key change it would really cook..please take that comment as constructively intended...for your mix is really good as it is and nothing changes that fact...you`ve got the knack for the genre...keep doing it & bump the bar up for the rest of us....cheers...Ed
Hi 7L....I don`t understand some of the earlier comments but I am not an expert on electronic music so I just go with what I enjoy listening to (I have likely listened to more electronica since I joined LM than in my years before)...I like this one...I notice your thoughtfulness in the composition with just the right amount of variation..the break at 3:30 is great...nice bouncy, uplifting music...You are a creative young musician and have included some different instrumentation...I think you will find some good music friends on Looperman...well done to you...keep doing your music....cheers.....Ed
smoooooth mix YB...being a guitar player who plays guitar over every damn kind of musical thing going on I have to admire your restraint on the drum mix...really like the bass sailing through that nice progression...I would be a bad source of advice on the genre..but my personal preference would be for a little more meat on the kick drum...maybe something centred down around 80 Hz would live o.k. with the bass...but its sounding good just as it is...enjoyed the listen...cheers...Ed
I have probably listened to more electronica since I joined LM than I did in many years before that...so I am definitely no expert & just listen from the perspective of what is good listening...and I like this one AD...nice bouncy uplifting vibe that carries you along with it...well done to you on the production too..It has the power with all the dynamics intact...I`d like to hear more electronic mixes produced this way...well done...Ed
Thanks for the review... Like I can compose the song in a week but the production takes a month or so to dial it in It's nice to hear positive feedback on the production part thanks again.AD
what a refreshing change to hear a mix in 3/4 that sounds so right now...you really nailed the vibe here TA...the expressive vocal delivery really goes with the overall instrumentation (you play well). Guess I have been slacking on my LM participation for a while as I just caught up with this one now...well worth the listen & much enjoyed...bravo...Ed
Like the approach Brado...and considering the purpose I think this should fit the bill...catchy tune...nice bouncy pop vibe..produced the way it should be....big well done and good luck to you in the contest......Ed
Like the intro X....Kudos to Billy..really dig the vocal. It is a minimal mix...I usually like that approach as it lets each instrument and part sit clearly in place....yet it is really quite hard-hitting. The brick wall limiting which I avoid seems to fit well in getting the big driving sound on the drums...I thought maybe a more prominent bass line (that moves around a bit)would kick it up a notch...enjoyed it...big well done to you & billy....Ed
BIG kudos, this track was DOA until i sent it to him. He sent this awesome vocal and i just ran with it haha
"It is a minimal mix"
Yup, i spent more time adding detail to a few synths and some weird sound design than going for loads of varied synths and sounds. Dont know if that was the right choice but seems to compliment the vocals well when it hits... i think.. haha
"The brick wall limiting"
To be honest i think thats more down to me not being particularly good at mastering, limiting, compression and stuff i can never get a good sounding mix without a somewhat brick wall going on.
"more prominent bass line"
Again.. more down to me not being very good at bass lol i tend to shy away from any big bassy sounds because they end up just sounding really bad
Have to agree with you austinmusic...there is just something special..perhaps to my mind also more honest about just a good song well delivered (you really nailed the feeling) and accompanied with the acoustic guitar..the little additions really embellish it just perfectly...superb fat sound you have going down on record with that acoustic....This is one hell of a fine song and a superb performance by you...definite fav for me...and a big well done to you....keep on...Ed
I`m not a rap fan Format...but I gotta say you kick the genre up a notch ...great job on the instrumentation...thoughtful approach to the composition with enough variation to keep it interesting...your vocal is really well delivered and sitting clean & clear in the mix....a big well done to you....Ed
always good music at your place...this one is different for you guys but as usual the fine musicianship is always evident...I`ve been paying more attention to Dan`s sax work lately....tell him I`m definitely a fan...very talented player....but, guess that goes for the whole group....time to take it on tour guys....This one really moves...enjoyed the trip....Ed
Great intro...and then into a kind of lilting quality...I like the way the crystal melody lines fly above that big rich paddy background...very tasty guitar bits really work a treat Evan...There is something of a Celtic vibe to my ears...from the melody lines I think...that picked up change around 3:30 is great..it changes the whole vibe of the track yet maintains the theme...The mix is perfect...This is just a really well done piece of music...and I enjoyed it....big fav....Ed
Glad you liked the track. bought a small lamp for the music room to use instead of the bright overhead fixture. The lamp gives the room a softer, more intimate feel, and brought out the guitar lines. Strange, I know, but it was a big change to my feelings while writing. Not sure if that makes sense, but yeah. Softly lit studio brought on a softer song. What would a strobe, blacklight and discoball do?!
Hey Met...I`m diggin this one...Mary actually did have a little lamb..If I can`t come up with a melody in my head when I`m playing I just recite one of those little old nursery rhymes to myself while I play so I don`t hit more notes than necessary..man...this is creative stuff (not the usual canned stuff we hear a lot of on radios)...I really respect artists who create their own sounds rather than try to emulate ones we heard already...great job....Ed
That's not a bad idea! I usually just go with the flow and my imagination does the rest.
Thanks man! I want to cut this down, deepen & lengthen particular sections...
My trick is having no idea what I'm doing!
Field recording is a sure fire way to add a little uniqueness.
Last year I worked on the rails for my City's Metrolink system and when the trams were stabled they would produce this noise that sounded like the coming of the four horsemen! The problem was it sounded off at random times so I could never catch it!
silverman...you`ve gone gold in this one...fab chilled listening..lots of layers...the rich pads really float it along and the intertwining melody & aside bits add just the right scenery..its quite different...and in the best of ways...fab track made...good evening listening over my side of the water this rainy night....big fav....Ed
Wow thanks Ed. I have had great feedback on this one from so many of you.
Enjoyed making this as it actually chilled me no end whilst working on it. We are what we eat as they say.
Good to hear some positive vibes Billion...I`m not really a rap fan so you will get more useful input from other listeners, but this is well done and I like the musical accompaniment...keep it going....Ed
Hey S.J...this is better by far that the stuff my car radio has been playing....and the mix sounds fine to me (although that is coming from an old guy with fading ears haha)...enjoyed the listen...and I agree with Orlando..we could use more of your music...but please get yourself a real comfortable chair.....cheers....Ed
Hi Ed!
Ha ha the chair...yes, have to get an other one.
Thanks for the listen, I believe your ears are just fine, probably hearing more than mine. But this one really has some timing issues and a lot of other flaws to be fixed some rainy day.
I wish you a happy and delightful summer!
Cheers//

I can`t believe this one has been around since May last year & I haven`t found it till now...(shame on me...slacker..ha)...This is one of those uplifting pieces of music that leave you feeling good & with a smile...your talent is on display doudei...always a pleasure to hear how you use it...great job...enjoyed the listen...Ed
and you even got a little quiet string squeak in the intro guitar strings...cool...Joe...you have the perfect vocal character for this kind of music...synth..but not quite...as you say it does indeed sound like it was played by a band...fits the 80s but hell it fits most anywhere else too...reminds me a bit of the music my wife used to crank up the car radio too...great job...good listening over my side of the water...Ed
What a friendly comment Ed.
Always nice to read something friendly about my voice.
Nice to read that you like in a way what i have done.
:) your wife must have a good taste for music
You would likely know I`m not a good source of knowledgeable commentary on the genre Met...Guess the kind of limiting you hit this one with is part of the genre ...I`m listening with a pair of old Sony (MDR-V600) cans that don`t reproduce the low end well but they are great on the highs...and this one has a lot of higher & high-mid frequency content...I would be inclined to do a bit of selective cutting in that area (maybe around 1.2 khz and above 5) & lay some big fat bass in there pushing some 80 hz & lower stuff...you got lot of power going on so you`re well on your way....keep on....Ed
If you hadn`t mentioned this was Trap, I wouldn`t know better Steve..guess my age is showing as I`m just not up on the current electronic genres...I just listen to whats happening without wondering where it fits...but I do like music that is done well like this...don`t understand why this one doesn`t have a lot of comments...its great evening listening over my side of the water...leaves you with a smile, plus as a bonus a I got a bit of education on Trap...nice job putting it together & top notch bit of work on the production...sounding damn good mate.....Ed
Welcome to the Loop Daniel...Listening to this, I think you are probably a well experienced musician/producer..thoughtful composition..rich sounds..top class production....most importantly it is very enjoyable listening...You should mark this one as "Featured" Daniel...more people should hear it..A big "Well done" to you..a fine addition to L.M...more please...Ed
thank you Ed for the encouraging comment, it make me happy.
I am only a modest amateur musical composition and I do not have your musical talent because I do not play any instrument, I am only the composition MAO

This is top notch mudhoen...really extra cool dancing/club mix with all the best elements...I hear a lot of thoughtful work you put into the composition & production...but most importantly..its damn good listening ...absolutely no suggestions from me...big well done to you...Ed
upbeat tune Nelson...definitely a bit different and that is a good thing when you are getting creative...some nice fat synth sounds behind the lead..I just listening with my old Sony cans this evening & they don`t produce the lows real well but sounds like maybe it could be kicked up a bit with some nice low bass...well done...always good to hear some happy music...Ed
