nice upbeat track MG...it is happy listening over here in Western Canada....well done...I see you have some comments on the production...I agree...a little less limiting on the main sections...and a bit more volume on the drops would make it even better...but it is already very good...leaves a smile....Ed

great work on the keys ronabo...smoooooth listening and nice rich sounds going on...other t5han the ending, I don`t think you really need to change anything..and as far as the ending...one chord with a long fade cymbal would do the trick....well done...Ed

those compliments I see sure are well deserved Rhodsey...I really appreciate the thoughtful composing & arranging that went into this one...the playing is superb (and I think that is standard fare for you)..nice to hear an instrument played with feeling and the perfect pacing/touch to fly above the usual...and then the mix is presented with quality production....guess that makes the whole thing about as good as it gets...great job...much respect to you....Ed

on My Contest Intrumental - Opinions Needed by BradoSanz

Its obvious a lot of great work has gone into both the performance and the mix/production Brado...I can`t really think of any obvious to suggest (maybe I`m a biased listener as I like this kind of music ) the string part around 2:35 is fab..maybe it deserves a little more prominence. I think the vocals will influence any changes you may want to make but non seem obvious to me as it now stands..I`m guessing that the vocals may fight a little with the dominant high mids in the guitar tracks but you can always tweak them with a bit of eq/volume automation and throw in some mid-side processing if you need to further widen them out of the way...sounds good to me...good luck to you in the contest....Ed

I need to learn how to use M/S processing as I am still very basic in my knowledge of effects and compression. If you know of any particularly good videos that can help me improve in this area, feel free to send me a message!

That Spanish sun is nice and warm...so is the sound on that guitar...there are getting to be some really nice sounding software guitars & they go great when you use them right like this...Great feel to this one jamid and the minimal mix really lets everything sound nice & clean & uncluttered..good vibes reaching all the way across to my place....great job mate...keep em coming...Ed

I`m not familiar with the genres you mention 15ludwicke...so you are hearing from an uninformed listener...sounds like damn good chill to me..really like the way the vocal fits in the mix..more for effect than a standard vocal...rich pads are terrific and the walking bass bits perfect...call it anything you want...I enjoyed it big time just the way it is...."Lost in Evolution" ......Ed

haven`t listened to house in quite a while...nice flow & good memories here...the vocal sounds good & I like the nice kind of light bouncy accompaniment that contrasts nicely with the lower end & beats...the vocal gets burried a little bit in that section around 2:35 (lot5s of synth in the shared frequency range)...but overall its good listening GryllaQ...well done....Ed

Good to know how you made this one Alex...I am not always well informed on synths so having the chance to listen to sounds from the Blofed is interesting...it sounds good in the hands of an accomplished player like yourself...This one did strike me as being the kind of music that would go well in support of film/video...it creates the atmosphere of moving ambience with side glances at passing events as the lead parts come it...Your music is always interesting/entertaining and produced with thoughtfulness..well done....keep doing it your way...Ed

Thank you Ed! I know this is a kind of a special musical creation and putting it under 'house' might be not correct, those drums have a very tribal character though. Also it is a quite slow tempo here - 116BPM. I didn't really think of picturing any concrete images - it is always up to listener and I am glad you think it would be suitable as a soundtrack.
My work was actually quite complex as I blended together many different sounds of Blofeld. I've made this after some break from music in general. It was an interesting experience - my ears were very fresh and incredibly open yesterday (so to speak:).
Now I am getting even more and more surprised by the possibilities of this synth than I was before. There are 2 factors, I think: my momentary ability to percieve the actual sound and how open I can be to use it musically in that moment - the other is about learning how to use the synth as a tool so I could come up with my original sounds as well (I am still working on that but it is very time-consuming activity). Basically Blofeld is simply a modern version of an old german PPG Wave synth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izVH1CENIDs My version is a 'desktop' one and always needs an external midi keyboard to trigger the sound.

I am glad you liked my playing and the music.

Hey Traz...first I have to compliment you on the production..it has quite heavy limiting but you have managed to keep the dynamics and balance good...you have a lot of fine talent represented in this one...and you did a super job of pulling a lot of different ideas into a mix that holds a nice vibe all the way...I enjoyed this one..Traz.I think I like that last section the best.....right on....Ed

Thank you! However, there is only two sharply different styles on the track as oxymoron, with some short jazzy transition ... Both of them are really homogeneous in itself, were not so tough to mix them like this.

considering your objective of conveying that marsh picture I think you have the vibe pretty much nailed Dan...Its a soundscape...mind pictures kind of musical piece so I think each listener will hear their own thought variation on it...Maybe with the marsh dance aspect in mind it could flow into a gentle water rhythm section...I can imagine it being fun to create from a picture concept...very nicely done by the way...will try to check back & hear where you head with it....cheers...Ed

I really like Brado`s music mix...but the hard limiting knocks out most of the dynamics and brings everything up to a similar level and blurrs the vocal...I see you already have some feedback on the pitch issues...I think you have the song and the rest of the ingredients Evedye..just a matter of spending some time on getting everything to work together...keep on doing it.....Ed

Thanks for the kind words! I am not just starting from scratch, I picked up a Chords chart from a music store (http://www.walrusproductions.com/images/pianochordsmed.jpg) and just went from there. I still couldn't play a single chord without looking it up, but baby steps, right? Keep trying and I'm sure you'll be playing in no time :) good luck with the piano!

If this one doesn`t move you you are not moveable..ha...funk with power...does remind me a bit of Simply Red when the piano parts kick in but its got more power...great big pads & the guitar really adds some cool icing...super bit of work Rhodesy...really enjoyed the listen....Ed

Good for you Brado...nothing I like better that listening to the real stuff (the production stuff will get there when you get your rig together)...its a good song and nicely delivered. I really like acoustic accompaniment myself but I can hear lots of potential for a variety of instrument/ accompaniment approaches on this one..that should be an advantage when you get it catalogued...You sing well, so a decent mic will make a big difference (in terms of quality for money I have settled on Rode mics the last couple of purchases but there are some great mid priced ones now)...anyway...well done to you....enjoyed it...keep doing it....Ed
