Description : Piano and viola played by denyjanuary of looperman and vocals "written" and performed by myself. This has very limited post editing and mastering, and is mostly ad-libbed. Not much of an idea of what genre it would fit in, so I've just chosen Cinematic.

Effects on the voice are supplied by Izotope Nectar 2, and specifically the 'Airy Lead' setting with a touch of harmony.

Wow, wow, wow, absolutely brilliant ambiance in this and what awesome vocals and musical arrangement. Just a stunning piece of music. Can feel the pathos in every verse and chord progression. Love it!

Thank you very much.

I wish I could take credit for the music as well, but that was generously supplied by DenyJanuary. (link in the description)

Also, thanks for stopping by and commenting, much appreciated :)

This is a very elegant styled track. Your voice blends in really well with the instruments. Keep up the good work. If you wouldn't mind please go on my page and check out my track. It'd be greatly appreciated.
mildperil replied 30th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
Definitely the first time I've been described as elegant!

And thanks for taking the time to stop by, listen, and comment. Much appreciated :)

Your voice is excellent. Great intonation, support. Beautiful concept with piano and strings. Best of luck with further development.

Such kind comments definitely spur me on to want to take it further, and so I only say thank you very much for taking the time out to listen and comment, it's very much appreciated :)

Go on man....let me see what I can do.
mildperil replied 28th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
It's a definite no :)

Maybe in the future when I move to a better suited place, have better equipment and hopefully have developed my vocals a little more, then I will consider releasing the vocal tracks. But until then...
YertBimberg 27th Jun 2016 04:25 - 7 years ago
Wicked performance. Perhaps use the harmony a bit more sparingly to accentuate certain phrases/lines..? The vocal performance is fat enough to carry the weight with less effects. It's just good. Well done, man.
mildperil replied 27th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
You're right, and I was thinking that myself about the harmony, it is a bit overkill I guess. Maybe I'm just trying to make up for a lack of other factors, and it does also help to cover some of the background noise I've got going on.

It's given me more ideas for future songs though, so thank you very much for popping by and taking the time out to listen and comment, much appreciated :)
orchardstudios 26th Jun 2016 21:24 - 7 years ago
Hi. Had a really good idea last night.....whiskey again. do you have the track without any effects on the vocal......I know this is weird but it might just work.

mildperil replied 26th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
Hi, I do have the track without any effects on it, but I'm not sure that I want to release it as it sounds absolutely awful.

A combination of cheap equipment, lots of background noise and poor acoustics in my room make it sound as flat as a pancake.

Thank god for Izotope Nectar :)
IGS 26th Jun 2016 13:26 - 7 years ago
Hi man , i just ask if i can remix it ! :D :)
mildperil replied 26th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
Of course you can.

Some of the vocals are out of time though, so a beat might throw it off a little, but I've made it available to download.

Would be really nice to hear the end result, so please send me a link when you upload :)
Tumbleweed 25th Jun 2016 22:58 - 7 years ago
Where have you been hiding that fab voice of yours mildperil...probably I just hadn`t caught up with enough of your tracks in the, you have just the right amount of subtle gravel in the vox...and I particularly like the expressiveness you get in the really sets you apart from the more usual canned stuff our radios play...Super job...enjoyed listening...big well done to you....Ed
mildperil replied 26th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
Really pleased you enjoyed listening, as I love your music. I've never been a big fan of the usual canned radio stuff, so that is an extra compliment for me.

But I can't give enough credit to Denyjanuary who wrote the music in the first place, as without him, there would be no song.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a kind comment, much appreciated :)
Bindanox 24th Jun 2016 21:18 - 7 years ago
Amazing performance.I don't really care about the technical side of the production because that can be improved.
There's a great sense of loss and genuine sentiment, and the instrumental it is really beautiful and well played.
Great work

mildperil replied 25th Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
The technical side of it is a bit lost on me, that I cannot deny, but I do try and sing from my heart and it's really pleasing when someone picks up and connects to it.

And I absolutely can't take any credit for the instrumentals, that goes to a guy going under the pseudonym of DenyJanuary (

Hey MP, I am on my lunchbreak and thought I'd use the time to listen to some songs...

It is a bit hard to tell with the little speaker if it needs different mixing, but from what I hear it sounds good. I love the feeling of the song, and you sing in a very interesting way.

Regarding the genre, for me it is a pop ballad, and a beautiful one.

I would be interested in working with you and my band on a song (Drums, bass, Guitar), if you ever feel like doing something then PM me.
mildperil replied 23rd Jun 2016 - 7 years ago
Pop ballad, that's interesting, I never quite thought of it like that.

And I'm definitely interested in doing collabs with people, but the issue I have is that I'm totally inexperienced and have only been 'singing in anger' for the past 7-8 months, so I'm going to have to wait and see if my voice and style develops over the coming months - but like I say, I'm definitely interested.

Thanks for stopping by to listen and comment as well, much appreciated :)

I like it, mate. Your voice has made this tune even more emotional. Thank you :)

I'm pleased you like it mate, and thanks again for letting me use your music, as I had a lot of fun singing this. Although I'm not sure if my neighbours share my enthusiasm!

Looking forward to hearing more of your stuff in the future :)
Darknives 22nd Jun 2016 20:36 - 8 years ago
Nice man, not much mastering needed for something like this, it's pretty simple and emotional, although, would tell u to try anyway, u never know, gives a new way of making the music sound diferent
mildperil replied 22nd Jun 2016 - 8 years ago
I did try to mix and master it a little, but I was honestly making it sound terrible, so I just kept it as it was.

Thanks for listening and commenting though, always appreciated :)
Ben1972 22nd Jun 2016 20:01 - 8 years ago
I really like the melody of this track, good voice, well recorded with effects that fits perfect. I would like to build something guitar related with that vocals :-)
mildperil replied 22nd Jun 2016 - 8 years ago
I've just had a quick listen to a couple of your tracks (I'll go back soon and listen some more) and that's a real skill being able to build around a vocal. Would love to do something like this in the future.

I'm tempted to let you have the vocal track, but the background noise is almost unbearable.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting though, much appreciated :)

Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...

Description : So a new track for everyone. Im pretty impressed by this one, and would even place it higher than one of my best tracks, Angel And A Demon. However, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put vocals to it. I have some in mjnd, but idk if itd be better to leave as is and keep it instrumental or not. Take a listen and let me know! Also, let me know if anything is too loud, still working on my mastering.
