Very well done. Especially I like it the intro. But then it lacks of a dark-sounding wobbling, sweeping, pumping synth bassline, IMO. Just an idea.
Keep the good work. cheers
Prech the feedback mate. That's actually a pretty solid idea. Maybe I could go back n tweak 1 of the 3 basslines I used for this track (subbing it out with one more on the mark with what you were talkin about). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
i love the beat but the echo is really over shadowing that cold ass beat, could i have that beat without the echo
its platinum in the hood ????????????????
Interesting track Donnie. I'm not well versed in this style of music but I really thought it was creatively put together. I liked the purcussion especialy the bongos, they're one of my favorite purcussion instruments. I thought the mix sounded good. Sorry if I can't help with the technical aspects of it but I thought it was a cool track. Well done, great listen.
No worries mate. This was one of those projects that got sidelined (as usual, haha). I was trying something different here (using numbers for notation). There's only a couple of other things I was thinkin about addin to it, but never did. The percs were chosen coz they added a fun element of flavor I thought. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Ahhh man this is a teaser and a half, shortest track i have came across on the loop really has you starving for more, thanks for making this a download and freeing it up, could definitely play around with this. cheers.
Yeah, for a school project this was one of the shorter things I've had to do. Truth be told I would've loved to have this playin for the entire speech. As for the other, nada prob mang. Figure it'd be fun for others to play with. Glad ya dug it. Lates!
I've actually listened to a number of your tracks before but this one is still one of my favorites. It's kind of Techno but really more Cinematic in flavor. It's a nice mood maker, MrE is good at that, but you've enhanced it considerably with the effects processing. I think it could even be longer since it sets such an nice mood. The jungle, the wind, the water, very exotic.
Yeah, this was done back when I was still just messin around with remixes. Ern laid down a pretty solid foundation that I just accentuated with the different effects. And the original was only like 3:10-15, so I didn't stretch it out that much, but enough for a decent radio edit me thinks (def agree this could go on longer though). Glad ya dug it. Lates!
Wow top notch mix of style with the orchestral and breakbeat, cool beat as well. Would love to hear this fleshed out to like 3 or 4 minutes, just as it started it ended, bummer -haha I know it had to be 30 seconds but damn you are on to something with this one, If you feel the urge this would be a great full length track indeed. I'm off to check out your other stuff. Nice work. Cheers!
I hear ya mate. I've been tempted to pick this one up to stretch it out some more. As I said somewhere else here, when you listen to this on repeat it just keeps comin at ya- your mind tends to get lost with it the first several times. And even if I don't, I'm super stoked to find a successful blend of those styles. Glad ya dug it. Lates!
This is very cool for several reasons. The fusion of several different traditions WORKS. Seriously, what about orchestral/cinematic strings suggests any kind of compatibility with breakbeats? It's a bit like examining hydrogen and oxygen independently and somehow predicting water in their union.
I also love that it's a total subversion of the academic model (says the recovering English prof). You've taken a text based class (grapholectic or print tech) and done a project based on orality/aurality. See how cool that is?
I love your bass lines. I need to revisit your loops and look through these in particular. I'd have given you a 4.0 for this one - hope your teacher did!
Sorry mate, these weren't ones I uploaded (though I could email 'em to ya if ya wanted me to). Alright, as for the track- It's fun sometimes to just throw things together to see what they sound like. The strings were actually the 3rd element (4th thing) added to the song. And they worked like a charm oddly enough. As for college- eh, I'm currently torn. There are elements of it that I love and others that I had (the class number hints at one of them). All of that would best be saved for an email I suppose (so if interested, there ya go). Back to the song- glad ya dug it. Lates!
Yeah mate, I needta go back n add some stuff to this. The effects thing might work out better than doing what I was originally thinkin. Thanks for the tip. Later on!
Some cool stuff man, loving the SpiderDJ pic too! Haha! I've been on here for about a year and a half but been silent for about a year, so you're probably thinking "who's this guy?". So hi. Looking forward to some more stuff.
Yeah, the pic was funny, coz I wasn't even planning on modeling for anyone that day. And the props were orig intended for others to use. (shrugs) It was cool & kinda funny at the same time. As for the other, it's cool bruv- alotta people do that. I joined back in mid-07, but didn't really get involved until spring 08. Lates!
Hey Man! You guys sure threw together a very cool and also original sounding track! While listening I get the feeling I'm walking alone in a dark jungle with mysterious creatures running around from tree to tree and strange noises echoing from the deep of the jungle! Congrats to all that worked on this track! ;)
I like your strange creature like call you created as well as the mysterious vibe that your pads create! Great stuff! Keep it up!
Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with this track too. It was really great how this came together as quickly as it did. Though others showed interest in it I feel that what we have is pretty jammin (no need for anything else, really). As for my stuff, it's funny coz I just watched the spec ed dvd the other day and realized that the alien's cry is a bit different from mine (shrugs). Oh well, glad ya dug it. Lates!

Haha, I like to change it up a bit, ya know (avatar-wise). Just look @ me pics & you'll see what I mean. As for the other stuff, I try, ya know? Glad ya dug the track too. Feel free to snag it n rock it on yer iPod or play it with friends during some fun flow sessions. Later on!
Hey Man! Like the dark energy and mood in this! The remix name is very appropriate as I can really hear the sound of the washing machine spinning on and on throughout the track! Very clever and inventive stuff! :) Cool combinations! Keep up the good work!
Yeah, got the idea for the style of this years ago- while I was sittin outside on a smoke break one day near my room in the barracks. Someone was doing some laundry and I guess had a pair of shoes in the dryer or something and the beat it was making was pretty mesmerizing. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Hey Man! Really nice pads flowing with a lot of emotion!
I can imagine this being worked into either a cool cinematic piece when the hero is upset of what has happened to the world or even in a science fiction movie! Could work in a massive dance track as well! Nice stuff man! Keep it up!
Sorry for the delay (was mad busy with school stuff). As for the track- Yeah mate, that's exactly what I was thinkin when I was layin in my bed playin this (getting it to come together). The night started out with me just playin around with my midi-keyboard and the different synths on Logic 8. Kept seein a spaceport on a moon-like planet. Don't think it'd need much to complete this (basic bassline and some drums). Glad ya dug it. Lates!
Nice track Donnie, pleasure to listen to. Puts you in a certain mood right from the begining, relaxed. It's nice to hear simply produced tracks carry their musical weight in gold. Nice stuff!!
Sorry bout the delay mate (was mad busy with school stuff). As for the track, back then the keyboard was all I had. So I would spend countless hours just foolin around with it. And one early morning when I had been tinkerin with it for a little this melody started coming together. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Hey Man! Like the sound of your remix! Like how it starts out and builds getting more techier along the way! Like the use of vocals in here too. They fit perfectly with the track!
Nice stuff man! Haven't heard the original either but sure like the sound of this! :)
Prech that mate. The slow, simple build is the way I do my Tranq music (dream-like, but not really belonging to any of the existing 'dream' sub-genres). And what can I say, the TCM stems were awesome. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Cool deal mate. Don't think I've ever heard of either of those artists. Will haveta check 'em out now. As for the track, I just had crazy fun with the mixdown. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Definitely different...nothing im used to lol...sounds like when cartoon network back in the day when they used to show toonami..pretty cool..i like the intro and the drum pattern.
Hells yeah, I remember when CN useta do that. It's a shame that I don't have that channel anymore (basic cable here only has 20+ chans and CN is on 59). All the music is thanks to Mouko (check out the original if ya haven't already), I just did the vox and effects on the vox (along with some slight mixing of the original). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Wow...very ambient. I could see this at the beginning of like Lord of the Rings or some other epic-style film lol. If you put some synth to it and some drums, then it would be perfect.
Coolness mate. My mind usually goes the sci-fi route, but I can def see what yer saying about it being a part of some fantasy thing. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Cool man! Yeah, the synths were 50/50 on this. The stuff you hear at the beginning is all my stuff and as the song progresses I threw more of TCM's stuff into the mix. As for the drums, kept 'em real simple, ya know? Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Not used to this kind of music - kind of all over the place, but i guess it's what it is when working with loops eh? Nonetheless got a good vibe going, it's pretty constant throughout.
Keep working on!
Steve
Yeah, a good percentage of this was loop based (save for the intro bass stuff and drums I rolled for this). And the all-over-the-place feel this has was my way of trying to encapsulate a global sense of the word 'tribal' in the title, but in a modern sense, ya know? Anyways, glad ya dug it. Later on!
Drums mate are exqusite! You do em live - cause they sound it? Pad is real nice, and bass goes nicely with the entire song. Nothing wrong with it just needs a guitarist in there!
Good on yah mate,
Keep it up :)
Steve
Thanks mate, naw they were loops of one of my progs. Started laying them out first and then went back n added the bass. The pads were a last minute addition, because I was originally trying to make a whole track here, but 2 things held me back- I can't really play guitar all that well and the progs I own have crap guitar loops. So I added the pads to add atmosphere and figured I could throw this up for other guitarists to play with. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
You know, this sounds alot like the old school hiphop tracks with alot of samples in them...Its like sampled-house..with the scratching being exchanged with reversing. Cool use of the loops, I liked the drums.
Yeah, one day I was messin around on one of the programs I hardly every play with and I found this one loop. Immediately thought that it'd go good in a song and then BAM- after foolin with it for like 20 minutes or so I realized that I could possibly make a whole song out of it. Which does hark back to the early days of hiphop alot. Find 1 sample & go with it. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
The fading was really nice and smooth. I really like the intro pad...the verb on it gave it a unique sound. I thought some drum patters you chose immulated ant feet and the synth were the bites... Also with the fading...nice job of still having depth from whats left after the other sounds leave.
Yeah, when I was listening to this as it progressed I kept seein lines of ants marching away from a picnic basket or the way they swarm when someone's stepped on their mound. And the conversion part at the end was done to give tribute to the original (since this is so vastly different). Downside is that I don't think Eshar has the original of this up any longer (shrugs). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
