good track, nice production, lots of fade ins and outs gives it a reoccurring feeling of something, i dunno what, but like you seen something in the corner of your eye then look and theres nothing. lol just the feeling i got from it :)
Weird but again nothing wrong with that!
Keep it up man,
God Bless

Yeah, the in-and-out part came from the way I rolled the bass loops. I put the rest in to fit that vibe. Spent alotta time doin the constant fades on the drums since about March (my lil experiment for the year). The bass was built on a basic idea of having a constantly flowing sequence (with all 32 blocks filled in). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Sorry bout the delay (school stuff). Prech that mate. That's what I usually always try to do with my music (get people to open their minds and just get sucked into their own thoughts along with what they are hearing). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Wasn't quite sure about the opening synth, but as the track goes on, it really does get great. Lovin all the little sounds here and there. Great track, honestly, I'd cut out the intro-ing synth tho. It is a flavor that for me was definitely not indicative of the rest of the track.
Wow it has slowed down a bit, that is interesting. I think my heart is beating with the music. I wonder what the BPM is... Interesting bits of the beat that you are reeling back in. Nice orchestral sounding synths, THIS TRACK is really cool. It's got a lot of solid, faceted and intricately handsome parts.
Sorry about the delay (school stuff). Yeah, I hear ya. The intro synths were done to give this the feel of the sun beating down on your back (with the visible heat rising off of the surface near the horizon line). Which is where the name comes from. When the bass comes in the song becomes internal so I agree that they do contrast each other (almost anti). The pads near the end mark the bridge where they should fuse together (maybe I'll need to go back n add some effects on the intro synth bits to soften them up a tad). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
This is one of those times when I wish I didn't have to step away from the site due to being busy. I would've really loved to be able to hear what ya did for this. Alas, when I clicked the link in the other review it was no longer good (which is why I took it down). At any rate I'm glad that you were able to do something with this. Later on!
Yeah, I can kinda see that (the NES thing). And that's prolly because this track is really raw, in that I didn't really add any effects to it. Velocity changes was about all I did, if those count. Glad ya dug it mate. Later on!
Thanks mate, and I would if I wasn't rubbish with the Guitar (trust me I've tried and it's no good, haha). Though some people have added some to this. And more will in time. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Haha, naw mate, I rarely do that (on here I do because of status and all that). As an ex-GF said, I'm "Filter free".
As for the song, it came about with me wanting to do something else and when it started coming together I ditched the other plans and stuff with this new baby. It was fun to make and I look forward to hearin what ya come up with (whenever ya do stuff for it). Later on!
Sounds like you gave those birds from pitch black some powers man, you weren't supposed to help them. This is awesome and trippy, ESPECIALLY towards the end. Dig.
Waitin for the dance to kick in , as Eshar says. Do like that soundfont too though. Cine, yes. Like ah blade runner? Here it comes --- nope not yet. While I anticipate, yeh I'll work on this track. Hook me up.
Eshar's review is funny. Where'd that part go? Is that whats on your soundclick? :) Trippy, futuristic-nostalgic sounds man.
Yeah, Eshar's comment was for Tides II (which is on soundclick).
As for this track, yeah Blade Runner was one of the things that came to mind when I was doin this (along with Star Gate, where the name kinda came from). And feel free to mix the Chilli outta this one. I can't wait to hear what ya do. Later on!
wicked Pad all the way through it
very different, weird background sounds but seems to suite it
Keep it coming, :)
Thanks for the review!

Thanks mate. I think if this is ever worked on again it'd be cool if it had some alien sounding vocals (or some underwater sounds instead). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Haha, I got u there twice.
As for mine, yeah, I'm thinkin that doin a tribute to the Police would be keen too (sorta started the siren emulation way back on my song GloSticks (raver mix) years ago). Though if I did one it'd be all-out, ya know- CB scanner radio chatter, sirens, news reports, etc. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Well, this version of the song is (see Splish's mix, link provided in description here). And I agree that more could be done here. It's just that it got put on the back shelf a while back and hasn't come up again since. Maybe I could puck this up again. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Yeah, I'm still pretty new to makin HH stuff and this was done way back in 07 (the first year I really got into it). Prech the feedback there and this track's up for grabs if ya wanna do a remix of it (if ya do lemme know, cool?). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Rawk on mate! I dig those suggestions. So far I've only had one person do somethin with it (the link to his song is at the bottom of the description here if ya wanna check it out). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I dig the dark foreboding atmosphere. I wonder why nobody downloaded this. Reading the reviews this track reaches to one's darker imagination. I feel Post nuclear melancholy. Great track.
I dunno mate, maybe my description throws people off. It might have to do with the original (song being taken down and artist not commenting).
As for the atmos in this, I just figured that given the name the dark feel would be fitting. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I'm into the percussive side of things, and having grown up with live gamelan I have a deep affinity for tuned percs. It's certainly world by virtue of your instrument choices, and it's got that house vibe, too (especially if compared to early acid house). I think you're really on to something here as it took me three listens before I began to like it (vacillating between reservations and ambivalence). None of my long term favorite songs or artists did I begin to dig before at least the third listen so I'm going with that here. Something unique and memorable. Have you considered playing with some reverb and/or delay with the DnB section? I don't know if it'd work, but adding a kind of reggae-dub approach might be really interesting.
Had to fav it after the 4th run! Yup - you're definitely on to something here.
Yeah, I hear ya. Percs and drums are where it's at with music IMO. I think they serve as a great cradle for learning how to make music (good for form and measure).
As for catching onto something, that's why I almost always start a review on the second play. So I can give the entire track the chance to go through once without self-induced distraction (of thoughts and typing). It's very rare for me to write something off and when I do it's usually the message that does it in (the curse of lyrics and all that).
As for effects, sure I could monkey around with this in trying some dif stuff. Since I love to do that sort of thing. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
a nice break from the ordinary, a cool fusion, the mix is right too, i like creative work- i see u experimenting like crazy with this, what do you use?
Yeah mate, I was. When I started this track my goal was to make a House track, but as it progressed I soon realized that just doing simple house stuff on this didn't really work. So I started venturing out into other areas trying to find the right sound for it.
As for experimenting, yep, def did that. I even messed with workin in some tone changes to the kick drums about have way through. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I'm a big fan of odd time-sigs. The drums are set up nicely to accomodate. The insect synth or whatever it is sounds sort of like a sitar in the phrasing. Has an indian influenced sound. (to me)
Cool deal mate. And it might have just been since I was kind of on an indo-chinese groove back then (posted a challenge in the forums and even made several loops for it). Anyways, glad ya dug. Later on!
thats some mad stuuf right there. feels like it should be in a chase scene in the new terminator. great fx. this is one of them tracks that when you listen to it you can't tell whats been done, like usually you can guess ' oh they have used a delay there and a reverb on that' but with this i honestly have no idea. i like that tho, it means is=ts very unique in that sense. i have to agree with salkizar that a kick would have made it more appealing for me personally but i still like what you guys have done. good collab.
Hunta
Yeah, I totally wanna see the new Terminator (though 3 was kinda bleh, ya know). Ironically, this was started with the original intent of being for a music video. Kinda forgot about it, opps, haha.
As for the randomness, it just turned out that way. I can't speak for the other guys, but I know that I was trying to create organized chaos. Though that's thanks to the multi-FX I added. Man, if you had heard the original midi I generated for this you'd be disappointed.
Speaking of which, I've gotten into midi if ya ever want me to make somethin for ya. Later on!
The collaboration really works - I would have wondered if there were three of four people involved if I hadn't read it first. Maybe it's the synergy factor - just not really possible when going solo. Nice rhythmic noize, too.
I enjoyed your track but kinda felt it had a bit more to offer. Has it been developed much since you submitted it? Some nice tones in there and they are blended well together. Great stuff.
Hey mate, yeah Splish added his side to it for version 1 of this. Since then it's kinda taken a backseat to other stuff. Maybe we'll pick it up again this summer. Later on!
