Sorta reminds me of some old skool Moby or My Life With The Thrill Kill Cult (ie, Moby's Next Is The E song). As for tempo, its more of a guideline than a standard-of-practice IMO, but I agree this is a bit to "up" to be classed as traditional House (thinking more like Techno, especially with who this reminded me of above). Dunno, maybe that's a direction you could take this instead (as the pace & energy of this is nice as is). Suggestions, hmm, for extending this I'd start right around whre you've got that one snare roll (right before it, actually) and work on fading stuff out (ie, synth) and then throw in some spots of minimal isolation (ie, bass+synths only followed by a drums+synth only spot and so on). Might also consider adding some pads or strings to make the mix fuller (a good intro for them would be right after the snare fill). Otherwise, this is pretty solid. Keep hammerin away at it mate. Lates!

Thanx for taking the time to listen & reveiw Donnie. Much appreciated, as are your observations on how to, maybe, take the track forward. I'm guilty of not having returned to this track yet so I will certainly bear your tips in mind when I do. Thanx again my friend.

Don't ya hate it when that happens (file too large stuff)? I've had to do the exact same thing with some of my samples. And sadly, the site doesn't seem to ADCPM (or was it ACDPM, can't remember now) conversion anymore, it did under the old model. This is pretty cool (especially diggin the breaks/cuts stuff near the end) and am thinkin you could break it down into sections to have 'em fit in the loop section (if ya ever wanted to). Probably be better that way, ya know? Its whatev' really. Keep bangin on mate. Lates!

Quick question- Have you and RogueAI ever collaborated? If not, I think you guys would make one really bangin tune together. He's the only other guy I know that messes with Neurofunk on here. Diggin how ya went with Bm on here, because its tone goes really good with the beat here (a softness that's sharp enough to seem to punch out, like a slap of cold water). The only thing I could think to suggest for this is to maybe consider boosting the bass a bit (IMO it seems to play too far under the synths at the moment, separation via panning might be another option for 'em, ie bass out left & synth out right). Otherwise, this is jammin mate. Lates!

heya rei, nice to see you in the fold again. I love the way you've mixed original riffs with pre-made content. They compliment each other quite well I think. My fav bit is the slow bass paired with piano. They give this a retro R&B/Pop vibe. Can't think of anything off-hand to suggest for this (maybe using Eshar's vocals more? expiriment with widening the overall range of everything, for a more stereo-scopic dynamic?- shrugs). Beyond all that this is golden. Later on!

about the stereo dynamics, well, what your hear is only the rough mix sent through a master limiter ... it's not mastered at all, no eq's or anything ...
and I love that bassline myself ...

Interesting stuff mate. Diggin the way you used the vox to highlight something else (dancing, I'm imagining). Also think the synths're nice. The only thing I'm iffy on is that bit at the end where ya got the vox kinda choppy (the "Go ahead & ring me up for these" part)- there sounds like an unintentional pop (like from an old loop fragment). Dunno if its intentional, but I figured I'd throw it out there for ya to check out. Anyways, cool mix mate. Thanks for sharing (and for crediting me). Later on!

Does sort of sound like Robert Miles' style, though there are distinct differences here (has a slight Paul Van Dyk vibe to it). I definitely hear the Dream (Italo) Trance here. Kinda miss those days, truth be told (sighs, memories). The only thing I didn't care for was the sudden end (dunno how much control you have over that though). At any rate, this is a pretty jammin mix mate. Keep 'em comin. Lates!

Cool tune mate. Diggin the way ya layered in bells with the bass synth stuff. The only thing I might do different (if this were my mix) is to introduce the drums a bit sooner & work on smoothing out those really high keys (that start @ around 0:22) with some volume reduction and/or effects. Otherwise this is jammin. Later on!

Cool contrast between the drums & guitar stuff here. Dunno how I feel about the dub-esque breakaway though (TBH not a big fan of dub/dubstep, so it's whatev' really). Am diggin the female vox ya snuck in there (wish there was more of it). Interesting mix mate. Lates!

Update...???... (checks watch) It's 4:08 here, haha.

Anyways, this is pretty interesting. It makes me think of GameboiX or TheHandThatRocks(thedecks). Dunno if you've ever heard 'em before, but they do stuff that's kinda like this (less drum & bass though). Another person that comes to mind is RogueAi. Of all three me thinks that you'd dig his stuff the most (and you guy's would probably be able to whip up one wicked collab if y'all did). Am diggin what you've done here (especially the synths that come in @ around 0:55). My only gripe here is that its so short (wishin it was a minute or two longer, ya know?). Otherwise, its a cool mix mate. Later on!

Interesting effects at the beginning. Reminds me of a mix between the Mortal Kombat sndtrk (the low choir stuff) and the way Lynch had the Harkonnen's speak in Dune (I think that's where I heard those squeaky, tearing-like sounds before, though that might've been from the anteater lookin alien from Star Wars Episode IV, shrugs). The drums & "ha ha" vocal stuff sorta remind me stuff that Aphrodite's done, though the overall vibe of the track is more like Dieselboy. Cool stuff mate. Keep bangin on. Lates!

Reminds me of early 90s stuff (around the time of Amy Grant & Selena's hits). Very good combination of styles going on here. Smooth vibes too! Would DL, but I just saw that wasn't an option ('tis cool, know that's the way things roll sometimes). Y'all should def try putting this on the Looperman group on SoundCloud (if ya haven't already). It deserves some extra rotation IMO. Excellent work y'all! Lates.

    Thank you Donnie.
Patricia has a great voice and SpellJammer had a wonderful melody.
I wanted to just be an addition with the guitars and let her voice shine...I wanted to make sure that was the focus.
    I'll look into SoundCloud.
You know,Patricia and SpellJammer had this uploaded first and did not have it for download so I just followed...I'll check on that also!

SpellJammer and Muzic..who is now PatriciaEdwards, actually she was Patricia before..lol...They did the work,I just added some accents to the track, they made the mix easy to do!

Haha, I'm always 'up late' (I'm a night owl, prefer the 3rd shift life over the others... plus, the night is better on the eyes/skin- no harmful UV, haha). As for the tune, haven't heard the other (Schmeej one) so I can't comment there. This sorta reminds me of Top Gun for some reason (not Loggins, that other guy, Satriani, but just a tad toned down, less solo & more drive, ya know). And a 'lil Green Day (has some punk angst to it me thinks). Only thing I'm left cravin is some bass, but that's whatev' (don't need 'em all the time). Nice jam mate. Lates!

It was a jam for sure...I got the drums from member BrianMaiden who got them from the drummer for Cheap Trick so I just played around the drums.

Oh...The Satriani reference made my day!

As is, it sounds pretty good to me (would make it a lil longer though).

    As for suggestions...
First if this is about ESP and/or divinity I'd personally try to move some elements of this in a Progresse/Goa-Psy Trance direction. To include some screechy synth FX or acidic sounding synth (disregard those suggestions if you are trying to go with more of a Italo/Dream Trance vibe).
Second, with the cosmos/universe aspect of the description I would consider adding more Reverb with a slight decayed Echo (like ya got going on with that one synth sequence) on top of the different parts of the mix, so you can interchange between applying the effect in different spots (from, say, all at the beginning/end to only having them on just the bass here and just the choir synths there, and so on). Though, if you were trying to go with a more dynamic style sound, what I'd do is only add the reverb-echo slightly to all of the instrumentation (say at 15-30 percent). Then I'd bump them up on the vocals (ie, around 50-60 percent) since the song is supposed to be a man with these powers (in effect, turning your vocalist into that man, if it's a guy singin that is). Also consider playing around with going between the raw sounding vocals with stuff that has vocoded effects on 'em (creating a contrast between the man's inner-self and his two persona's, ie, one that's cosmic & powerful and another that's normal and introspective). Just some ideas to play with there. Sounds like you're def heading in the right direction with this. Keep bangin on mate. Lates!

Lovin the pads & voc-sam ya got on here! Was just thinkin that it might be cool if ya had a part that went along with the beat goin somethin like "to tha - to tha - to tha - to the house beat " (real fast with the "the" part kinda cut off). Sorta like Spiv did on his rmx during the lil drum fill. Can totally see why he would wanna remix this track (such driving grooves to it). The originators in Chicago would get a kick outta this. Really diggin the Carnival whistle ya got goin on here and think that might be something to look into later (either in a remix of this or in another mix, do some Salsa/Reggaeton-type stuff, ya know?). The keys're cool too. Kinda not feeling the sudden cut-off, but to each their own, I guess. As off-the-wall as this was it sounds like ya had fun playin with yer gear here. Keep bangin on mate. Yeah, I totally agree, this would be great for some film score. And oddly, there was a part near the beginning where I was reminded of Avril Lavine (think that's her name, the pop-punk chick from a few years back). Dunno why, but for a moment there I could see her singin along to this. Hmm, that might actually be a cool remix of this (if ya added some alt-punk or new-wave type 'pella to this). Heya mate, I was just going through my iTunes library and saw that I had this tune (with a note saying I hadn't reviewed it yet). My bad, prolly was one of those last minute things that happened at the end of being on here all day a year or so ago. Anyways, just wanted to swing through to correct that now.

As for the film, the original (81) is a classic. It was a breakthrough in a lotta ways (CGI, cinema, etc.). Just like Legacy, it met mixed reviews (don't think ppl knew what to think of it). The one that just came out was sort of unexpected, given the time spanning the 2 films. The 20 year anniversary marked a special DVD release and video game, which led to the sequel. Sadly, Beuna Vista/Disney dropped the ball on the story for visual appeal with the latest one. Though as you said, the score on it was amazing (I've got both the sndtrk & the remixed sndtrk albums). FYI, if you don't already have the sndtrk, I'd recommend getting the special edition one, because the reg one doesn't have all the songs/music from the film (like the first club song, for example).

As for the song, I think you did one bang-on job of capturing the Daft Punk, Cine' Nu-house vibe here (with a slight touch of Trance). The main synthline is by far my favorite bit on here. The bass is bangin too. Dunno how I feel about the drums though (they work, but I also wish they had a bit more to 'em, somethin like percs here & there, I dunno). Odd coincidence here is that I was also inspired to make a song based on one of the sndtrk pieces, not a shameless plug, mind you. Anyways, cool stuff mate. Keep bangin on. Lates!

I gotta say that this is a really high qual cover/mix of BTs tune. And I totally get why ya wanted to do it, because the orig is such a sweet song. The only thing I'd recommend for this is to slightly bump up the lower tones for punchier bass. Oh, and just FYI- there's a 47 silent gap at the end of the MP3 file for some odd reason (might wanna check on that, mang). Otherwise, this is rawkin. Hopefully, you're still bangin out the mixes. To the song title: Depends on which brand you get. I'm currently circling 'round the sub-generic stuff (like a poor & desperate Vulture's tumor). Though, $40 after tax is still kinda steep (shrugs).

Moving on, I really love the globby/slidy bassline on here. And the inaudible computerized voc-sam. Though I dunno if I'd class this as D&B (in a classic sense, atleast, eh, who cares, let the purists figure it out). Its def creative, and I dig the randomness & minimalism you got goin on.
